Fisher & Paykel 8kg Heat Pump Dryer - DH8060P3
The Fisher & Paykel 8kg Heat Pump Dryer features 13 drying cycles - ensuring there is a programmed setting for almost every garment type. When time is short, you can select the Quick 30 cycle to dry clothes in 30 minutes - perfect for a few light items like work shirts or school uniforms. Heat pump technology dries at lower temperatures for gentle fabric care and because moisture is condensed, no venting is required. Auto-sensing prevents over-drying by sensing moisture levels inside the drum and shutting off automatically. This helps clothes last longer and reduces energy consumption. The drying rack is designed for items that can’t be tumble dried. It fits easily into the dryer and delivers the perfect result for those precious delicates, shoes and toys.

This unit replaced an older Bosch condenser dryer (a non-heat pump version), and it works perfectly. Despite some reviews on heat pump dryers cautioning users about extended drying times we have been pleasantly surprised at the speed and dryness of loads that come out of the dryer which are both dryer and the cycle shorter than the older Bosch Condenser. The shoe / delicate rack is a bonus which we didn't think we needed until we had it - It has only been a few weeks but already used on a number of occasions. This unit has a 30minute quick cycle as well as a manually programmable time cycle. It has the option of emptying a water catch can to the sink or running a drain hose directly to the plumbing (our setup). Overall, a great set of features and excellent drying ... MoreThis unit replaced an older Bosch condenser dryer (a non-heat pump version), and it works perfectly. Overall, a great set of features and excellent drying programs - Apart from a steam refresh function found on some higher end dryers (which I think is a gimmick anyway) I can't think of anything it's missing, and it does everything we need. The only thing I can really pick out is, it works the best with fuller loads, very small loads (1 or 2 small items) sometimes need a quick second pass - maybe for very small loads there's not enough moisture for the dryness sensor, but for a med-full load no such issues at all.

We have only had the dryer (to accompany a 10kg F&P washer) for a few weeks. It seems to work very well and it is great to no longer have to run an exhaust tube out the back door, which we've been doing for 20 years! We were concerned about stacking the machine on top of the washer because we could not find a F&P stacking kit compatible to both machines. The Good Guys came up trumps with a thick rubber mat which overcomes the problem. Obviously it doesn't have a sliding shelf but we don't miss that. We were puzzled that the door swings in the opposite direction to the washer but then my wife pointed out that if the machines are situated on the floor side-by-side, it makes complete sense. However, it would have been good if it had been possible to reverse it as one ... MoreWe have only had the dryer (to accompany a 10kg F&P washer) for a few weeks. Purchased this to replace a vented dryer. I have used the Miele flagship model in the past and was impressed by it so was hoping that the F&P would live up to the same experience. Not sure why people are saying its not drying clothes well - if anything it does it really well and my clothes don't shrink. If you select the right setting and make some adjustments to the settings everything comes up just right. With regards to sheets getting tangled - this is not a fault - its just the way you load it in the dryer. I still find on the right setting it dries very well. I love this machine and also how cheap it is to run. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a decent heat pump dryer that is easy to use. It has

Absolutely love this machine, we had a "vented" dryer that needed all the doors and windows in the apartment to be wide open for it to work properly. The new F & P Heat Pump Dryer works efficiently and quickly, very happy with this purchase. The delivery and installation guys were fantastic also. We live in a 4th floor walk up, no elevator. They were not impressed but got the job done without complaint or damage to any walls or to the product itself.... great guys highly recommend Appliances Online and this Fisher & Paykel Heat Pump Dryer.
Works well. I find that some clothes dry faster and the machine may think that its done, but will need a longer run. It will take a while for a big load but it gets the job done and emits absolutely no steamy or stinky air. The water container does need emptying quite a bit so worth hooping up the drain hose if possible. Overall - highly recommended - fantastic energy ratings - lower energy use than non-heat pump units.
We have been meaning to buy heat pump drier for a long time, just never got around to it and kept using old vent drier. The old drier was cheap to buy but was expensive to run and any time drier was running laundry was full of condensation. We have pets and young kids, so the laundry was never ending. The old drier took forever to dry cloths.Since we got the heat pump drier, the laundry is not damp, cloths dry quickly so never a backlog.Instead of 2.8kw P/H like the old drier the heat pump drier consumes around 0.8 to 1kw p/h. All in all great product and should have purchased ages ago.
I was sceptical about buying a heat pump dryer for many years due to the bad reviews I had heard, I finally took the leap when we needed a bigger dryer. The first day was disappointing and it turned out just like the reviews! Damp and tangled! But once I actually took the time to read and study the other drying modes instead of just setting it to everyday use thats when I realised if you dry the sheets on the sheet setting then it actually does a really good job, the same goes for the other settings. In conclusion these dryers work really well if you take the time to learn them and find the adjustable settings that suit you!
I have only used it about 3 times. The first time I selected the every day cycle and it was excellent as the clothes came out dry and uncreased. The next time I dried sheets and the only problem was that everything was wrapped in a single bowl of one sheet so it took a while to untangle the sheets from everything else. The next time I selected towels and was disappointed that they didnt feel dry when the cycle ended so had to use a timed short cycle to dry them off. In retrospect I think that the towels were so dry that they felt rough. I should have realised that the heat from the towel cycle was sufficient and although the towels get damp it was probably a transient thing and they would have felt dry after cooling down following remove from the heat pump. I should have realised that the heat from the towel cycle was sufficient and although the towels get damp it was probably a transient thing and they would have felt dry after cooling down following remove from the heat pump. I think that its a matter of getting used to the new type of dryer. It was so good to walk in the laundry and not have condensation on the walls and window. I used to have the back door open and the extractor fan on plus a think towel on the floor so it didnt get slippery whilst the clothes were drying. Its important to read the instructions for the heat pump thoroughly as it works so differently from my previous dryer. Its really important to clean the lint filters and empty the water collector each cycle. Its amazing how much water is collected in each cycle.
We were reluctant to buy this type of dryer - we never had one and were used to our 'blow' dryer. Plus, some friends told us they had a bad experience (after we told them what we got). So, naturally, we were somewhat reserved. But the moment we started using it, we were in love with this dryer. It's easy to use and we love that you can connect the machine to a drain so we don't have to empty the condenser all the time. Sheets and table cloths come out looking good and not needing ironing! Our business shirts are easy as to iron and we LOVE the automatic settings. It is quiet and we love it. We paired it with a F&P 10 kg washing machine - a winning combo. Highly recommended.
Loving my new washer & heat pump dryer. They look fantastic in their new home and are doing a great job of keeping my clothes clean & dry! Also want to thank the two delivery guys who also wrestled a huge fridge bought at same time (and disposal of all the old ones). They did an amazing job, and installed them all ready for me to start using, and took away all of the boxing. All are working perfectly. The Heat Pump Dryer is a must, especially for apartment living. I'm super happy with the products and the amazing service from Appliances Online.
