I love that this came with a free 6-month premium membership! I received this in the mail In exchange for my honest review. I love that you can download the Fitbit APP and control all kinds of things from it. You can track what you eat, how much you drink, track your menstrual cycle, check your bpm, stress management, health metrics, your sleep, readiness, your weight, irregular heart rhythm, blood oxygen saturation, and your exercises. It does everything you need and more! I like that you can do meditation and they have certain videos to help you relax and wind down or videos to help you do exercises. Your Fitbit can also remind you to wind down at a certain time before bed as well. This helps me stay on track and make sure I exercise a lot more than I did before. ... MoreI love that this came with a free 6-month premium membership! I picked this FitBit up for a Mother's Day gift and unfortunately it's been a problem from the start. There is a sharp piece of hard plastic protruding from the sensor module that causes skin irritation, so I contacted FitBit for an exchange, along with the attached close-up pic of the issue. They responded that they wanted more pictures, some irrelevant such as pictures of the front and back of the device, pictures of the charging cable, etc all with a case number written on a piece of paper in each shot. After a week of back and forth, they acquiesced and rather than replace the unit, offered a PayPal credit (they claim they don't do exchanges). I don't do PayPal and don't intend to set up an account. Google has succeeded in ruining yet another perfectly good company unfortunately. I decided to just return it through Walmart, but guess what... they don't take returns on FitBits apparently, so I'm stuck with a $100 reminder to never buy another FitBit, and now have a new concern about Walmart. Advice to all... don't assume that Walmart will stand behind what they sell... you now have to check to be sure.

I got the limited edition watch band. I will say that the band is rough on the edges and gets sweaty after being worn for a while the inside is silicone with the woven fabric the outside layers. I actually changed out the band for a scrunchie band because I live in the desert and my skin needs oxygen. I highly recommend buying a case protector for the watch to avoid banging it on something and a screen protector film to avoid scratching it. Watches get banged around where you least expect it, they need protection Ive worn it in the shower, washing dishes, etc etc. I normally work in food but due to the outbreak I have not been able to confirm it handling that lifestyle yet as I was moved to a desk job for the time being. Unfortunately there is alot of bloatware on this watch ie starbucks app, pandora, alexa, etc that cannot be removed. Through the app you can download other watch faces, backgrounds, select apps. The only app i personally find useful is the calculator. You can set a timeralarm, check the calendar i think syncs to your phone, and do all sorts of other things like tap to pay as well, if youre into those things. Tracks your heart rate and breathing all day, and you can set on the watch itself what exercise activity you may be doing to more accurately track heart ratecalorie burning I mainly use the talk to text feature, and get my phone notifications that are allowed to pop up on my watch which also clears them on your phone. However you must remain within bluetooth range of your phone. To sync and update your phone app, at LEAST twice daily turn on your location and bluetooth. Force it to sync by refreshing a couple times, it does take a minute to actually process the data. IF it isnt working try reseting the watch by holding the button down until it shuts off. If that doesnt help, force stop your app hold the widget down on your main screen and select force stop. Sometimes after an update it gets a little wonky for a day. If you do not periodically sync it through the day mainly after waking up to remove your sleep tracking it will start to miscalculate. There isnt enough memory to hold extended information and tracking which is why i believe you should be allowed to remove the bloatware but heyy product contracts and all that jazz so please take note to refresh it in the morning and night at the least. So far I only charge it around every 4 days, for maybe 2 hours or so to fully charge. On my heavier watch activity days i did charge every other day. So far it has been great, the color display is amazing, and I love that it tells me i suck at breathing and sleeping consistently also i apparently still have heart in there, who knew oh and you can still have your watch give you vibrate notices with your phone on do not disturb DDD and set the watch to silent or sleep mode if necessary

I am enjoying having my Fitbit. I especially like seeing my sleep review and watching my heart rate fluctuations is enlightening The app needs to always be running in the background otherwise certain things dont update. Battery so far average is about 6 days. Good that it can prompt you to walk around, drink, take time to reflect. The breathing app on the Fitbit is good as are the app programmes which also track your heart rate during mindfulness. Nice fit, comfy, good quality, ,doesnt bother me when asleep. I do find I build up steps just from using my hand, eg typing. The extra strap in the box is a bonus. Delivery from John Lewis was straightforward and the extra warranty is reassuring. Good simple watch with long battery life
13 June 2023

I tried many different watches, including the Apple 8 and 2 different Garmin watches, and this works the best for me. I wanted something very simple that works as a pedometer, monitors heart rate, tells the time, receives text notifications, notifies when I've reached a goal, doesn't require recharging very often (this goes for several days before recharging, like at least 7). The Garmin watches were not very sensitive and routes taken were often recorded inaccurately, so they were not worth the money to me. The Apple was too much watch: did too many things and had too many steps to get to the info I wanted. I had had the Fitbit charge 2 before so had gotten used to Fitbit way of doing things. Although this says it counts levels (elevation, as in flights of stairs), ... MoreI tried many different watches, including the Apple 8 and 2 different Garmin watches, and this works the best for me. Although this says it counts levels (elevation, as in flights of stairs), I have never been able to find that function. The sleep function is also inaccurate, saying I am sleeping when I am in bed awake and reading. I also don't love the look and wish there would be a fit bit watch that's round instead of oblong or square and that just does the basics.

Just what I needed

I spent days reading professional and consumer reviews before ordering the Fitbit Inspire 3. I picked it because I could custom set it to promote me to take whatever amount of steps I chose every hour. It does a beautiful job at this. I’m also happy with the sleep tracking. I have no way to tell how accurate it is tracking the stages of sleep, but I can see effects of various interventions and sleep supplements on my sleep report. For example, the prescription sleep medication I used to take, sometimes reduced my DEEP sleep down to 10 minutes a night every time I took it! Several other sleep supplements I sometimes took, had a similar affect on my deep sleep. With no sleep meds or supplements I get at least an hour of deep sleep, which is satisfactory. Several other sleep supplements I sometimes took, had a similar affect on my deep sleep. With no sleep meds or supplements I get at least an hour of deep sleep, which is satisfactory. During deep sleep our brains clear out beta amyloid from our brains, the stuff that causes Alzheimer’s disease! So, finally, I got sufficiently motivated to improve my sleep hygiene. I’m now using the vibrating “alarm” on the tracker to get up at the same time every day, some thing, I never thought I could do. Then I get some daylight, usually walking. The vibrating is enough to wake me up and it feels okay to wake up this way. Setting a loud alarm clock on days off was something I couldn’t bring myself to do. I am still learning ways to improve my deep sleep and can see what helps and what doesn’t.The exercise tracker and exercise videos (on free premium trial) has enabled me to get my heart beat sufficient for cardiovascular benefits and consequently my resting heart rate is going down, which is a very good thing.I’ve also benefited from the short mindfulness videos on premium. I’m honestly enjoying my life more. This tracker is motivating and also rewards me for big and small efforts. Of course the step count isn’t totally accurate, but it’s close enough and it has me taking way more steps than I had been. And it doesn’t really matter to me if the sleep tracker is totally accurate because it does enable me to see what works and doesn’t work to improve.

Nice watch, I would buy it again

I’ve owned several Fit Bit watches over the years. I prefer the slimmer watch face. I did notice that it didn’t read all my steps one day. Being that we were at Universal Studios, I know I walked way more then what it was showing. I’m sure there’s other days too, but I use this watch mainly as just a watch to tell time. The battery life is excellent. I charge this watch probably one every two weeks, and it charges quickly.Since I wear it on my right hand, when I bend my wrist it ends up pressing on the side button. I solved that issue by wearing a thick rubber band hair tie (with the plastic bead in the middle) as a bracelet and now no more issues.I do hope this watch last longer then previous Fit Bits I’ve owned. It’s always the same issue with each one. The ... MoreI’ve owned several Fit Bit watches over the years. I prefer the slimmer watch face. I did notice that it didn’t read all my steps one day. Smarter than a Smartwatch
23 July 2023

Some context... I'm a long-time Apple Watch user, but as a tech support person, I like to be familiar with Android options. I bought a $400 Pixel Watch and it stopped working after two days due to a recent update that caused many people to have broken watches. So, I purchased the Fitbit Inspire 3 as a low-cost replacement. I was curious to learn about the limitations compared to the Pixel Watch and Apple Watch. I've been very impressed with the Inspire 3. When considering the features of the Inspire 3, it's better than smartwatches costing hundreds of dollars more. Battery life is rated as 10 days, and it seems to charge quickly. My Apple Watch needs charing just about daily. The Inspire 3 is very light. Smart watches are big and bulky. I like how the Inspire 3 ... MoreSome context... My Apple Watch needs charing just about daily. The Inspire 3 is very light. Smart watches are big and bulky. I like how the Inspire 3 shows real-time heart rate at a glance. On my Apple Watch, it takes a few seconds after tapping on the heart rate icon to get a new heart rate reading displayed. I like the simple minimalist design. The GPS function of my smartphone is sufficient for tracking outdoor activities like biking and walking. So, there's no need to incorporate that into the fitness tracker which would drain the battery faster. I was originally enthusiastic about smartwatch devices, but prefer using the larger screen on my smartphone for tasks rather than squinting to see a smartwatch screen. I've used the Google Fit software on Android phones and it does a good job of tracking outdoor walks and steps with the phone's accelerometer and GPS. Having the addition of an Inspire 3 allows the smartphone to know pulse which offers a more precise insight into the activity level, and the ability to do sleep tracking. I like the default display color scheme with green accents.

Step down from the inspire 2
14 October 2023

I had an inspire 2 hr for several years and loved it until it finally broke. The inspire 3 is a disappointment in my opinion. The touch screen is very sensative to water, so every time I wash my hands it triggers the screen and frequently turns off auto-wake. There is a water setting to address this, but it is unwieldy and locks you out of other functionality, and this was never a problem with the inspire 2. One the software side, fitbit has changed some things for the worse too. You now only have the option to set alarms through the watch, not the app. Also, on a recent update to the fitbit app they changed the calorie tracking feature so that you can no longer easily see how many calories you have left for the day out of your goal. Lastly, I am not a fan of the ... MoreI had an inspire 2 hr for several years and loved it until it finally broke. The inspire 3 is a disappointment in my opinion. Lastly, I am not a fan of the watch faces they have available now. It would be nice if they had more faces available that had heartrate always visible (they used to have a utilitarian face that listed all your stats at once, but that is gone now).

decent performance, has pros and cons.

Positives:- its always tracking something- it does a pretty good job of figuring out my workout, i.e. it can tell when I'm on an elliptical, it can often tell when I'm bike riding, and when playing team sports it detects "sports"- the display is pretty readable, and the app is understandable. I like that you get a personalized dashboard on the web.- stays charged for a long time, charges really fast. The negatives- I doubt whether its accurate. It says I walked 8k steps / 3.6 miles today, and I never left the house. Yes, I did a lot of house work, but that seems excessive. I know that if I swing my arm it counts that as a step, so I guess I get extra steps when wiping up messes!- Similarly the sleep tracking is questionable, but it seems consistently ... MorePositives:- its always tracking something- it does a pretty good job of figuring out my workout, i.e. it can tell when I'm on an elliptical, it can often tell when I'm bike riding, and when playing team sports it detects "sports"- the display is pretty readable, and the app is understandable. So day to day / week to week comparisons are useful.- many app features would only be available if you pay for a subscription.- a bit uncomfortable for sleeping with.Net- it depends on how long it lasts.- basically does what I wanted it to do, which is track activity.
