Fjallraven Abisko Lite Long Trekking Trouser - Mens Indigo Blue/Dawn Blue 48 F82890-534-543-48

(147 reviews)

Lightweight, cool outdoor trousers for trekking in warm conditions. Made from durable four-way stretch fabric and lightweight, strong G-1000 Lite, giving a pliant, fast-drying garment with excellent ventilation. Perfect for hot days when you want to wear full-length trousers for protection against brush and biting insects out in the terrain. They have a technical cut with pre-shaped knees, which in combination with the stretch fabric gives well-fitting trousers that let you comfortably take full-length strides. Long ventilation zippers from the hips to the knees release excess heat. There are two hand pockets as well as spacious leg pockets with zippers for a map or the like. The leg endings have strap adjustments and boothooks that prevent them from riding up. Reinforcements at the leg endings and on the inside of the calves make them extra resistant to wear.

I normally wear the Fjallraven Keb trouser but was looking for something lighter for mid summer hikes in the sweltering northeast, these absolutely fit the bill although I will
most likely tear these apart quicker than the Keb. Not because they are low quality, but because I am a big dude and very hard on my gear.

Have only had them for a week but so far these are by far the most comfortable "outdoors" pants I've ever worn. Planning on using them while in the backcountry on canoe
trips as my travel day pants. Will be using them in the canoe and on portages. For now it's just trips to the grocery store... Anyways, the quality seems amazing and I am
confident they will stand up to the abuse I will throw at them once I get out on a trip!

Initially received a pair with a pocket sown backwards. That’s a hard pill to swallow when Fjallraven commands a high price, and is purported to be over engineered to last
generations. That said, that pair was returned and a new proper pair replaced them. Having just worn these pants through grueling coastal wilderness, they are worth the
price.

Fashion AND function!!!
29 April 2020
I bought these zip off pants mainly for summer trips in the Boundary Waters Canoe and Wilderness Area. Warm weather and entering/exiting a canoe on rocky shoreline when often it is best to step out in the shallow water and carry the canoe on shore scream for shorts. Mosquitos thick enough to suck you dry, biting flys and portages through thick foliage and vegetation that harbor ticks and poison ivy scream for long pants. Enter the convertibles. I actually owned a pair of convertible/zip off pants that I left at home on my last trip because I couldn’t bring myself to wear them, they where just too dorky. I can hear the jeers now. I know, the wilderness is not a fashion show, I guess I’m shallow. These pants look great. It’s hard to tell they have the leg zips. I know, the wilderness is not a fashion show, I guess I’m shallow. These pants look great. It’s hard to tell they have the leg zips. There is a stretch panel in the crotch that runs down the inner leg for comfort when bending or climbing. My dog has shaken off next to me after a swim and the water beaded up on these and I was able to just brush it off before it soaked in. The leg zips are above the knee for me so no catching on my knee cap when bending or squatting. The fabric is lighter weight than the regular g1000 in the vida pros which helps me stay cooler even in pants mode. The length is great. Long enough to stay around the boot cuff, even when high stepping up, especially with the adjustable hem tightened and lace hook engaged but not so long that they bunch up around your ankle. The only things I could see people disliking are; 1) Depending on the size of your footwear, you may not be able to take the zipped off legs completely off without taking your boots off. 2) No back pockets (that’s a pro in my book though) 3. I’m 5’10-5’11” 170# athletic build and ordered the 48 (32-33”) regular length.... Show more

Good design but not great overall
15 November 2020
I researched a lot of hiking pants and finally decided on these. I really like the design and the features of the pants, but there are a couple things that really bother me about them. The thing that basically makes them unusable for me is the diameter of the zipper around the thigh. I didn’t notice it when I tried them on but when wearing them if I try to squat down it’s EXTREMELY tight around my legs. Also the button on the waist came off after 2 uses.... Show more

Good fit for big guys
30 April 2021
I broke down and bought these new after having loved some used Fjallraven gear. Just in time for an 84 degree day hike in April. The G-1000 Air is waxable should you need to make zip-off lower legs water resistant. Stretch material in gusset and rear was perfect for me as a bigger guy- 6’1” 265lbs and 40” waist (..workin’ on it) I wear the size 58 or 60 in winter. Comfortable even in the heat... Show more

High tech function
22 December 2019
Very nice high tech hiking pants. Very breathable and allows free movement. The G1000 material is pretty amazing including the ability to waterproof as needed. It comes waxed and you can treat more as needed as with any waxed cotton product. The dark green is more like dark brown but they look nice.... Show more

Perfect summer pant
9 June 2020
Great quality and fit! I love the side vents for airflow on hot days on the lake, or while hiking. The grommets at the end of the pant legs prevent bug access. A must-have summer item!!BTW, the entry by “Icefog” is petty! Simply unsnap the waistband, unzip, and stream away dude!!... Show more

Very intelligently designed

Thought this would feel stiff and harsh. Not in the least. The fit is as advertised: length and waist. The side "pit" zips work brilliantly and the pants are, indeed, excellent in warm weather. Well done!... Show more

Worth every cent
24 September 2020
Bought these for my husband a month ago on a friend's recommendation. These pants were amazing. He used them on two 8+ hour treks up 14rs - no chaffing, great ventilation - never had issues with being too hot or too cold, great pocket storage - plenty for all his snacks and supplies, and just overall comfort and looked great too. Our friend had on the same pair that had climbed dozens of 14rs and they still looked perfect. Highly recommend. We will be getting another pair before our next trip.... Show more
