Fjällräven Räven 20L Backpack Grey

This backpack is amazing. I’ve had it for about a month and I can already see why these backpacks are passed on through every generation of a family. They’re durable, and look stylish. I went hiking in it once and it was comfortable and kept everything without needed to stuff my backpack. I do wish there were more pockets but I really enjoy the practical use of just having one big pocket. It can be used hiking, for school, traveling as a luggage item and many more. 20L is perfect for me, but for most i would recommend the 18L. Very great backpack and I would recommend this over any North Face Backpack.

Best backpack!

I bought cheaper backpacks for my two oldest sons for school last year and both had mesh pockets on the sides for water bottles. Before school was over their water bottles had completely wore through the mesh pockets from being slung around on the bus. This year I searched everywhere to find a backpack that had solid pockets on the sides and these were perfect! The pockets are the same thick canvas as the rest of the back pack. The entire bag is such good quality and after using them for almost 3 months so far they still look brand new. I really love all of the interior zip pockets which were a nice surprise because you can't really see them in the pictures. I got the 20L size for my 1st and 2nd graders and the size is perfect. To me they looked bigger in the pictures and I was worried they'd be too big for them to carry since they're made for adults, but with the straps on the shorter lengths they fit really good. Adjusting the straps to longer both me and my husband can wear them comfortably, but it does look smaller on my husband. They do hold quite a bit though and full size binders will fit. I definitely see these lasting for quite a few years, and really like the classic neutral colors that will still be loved as they grow older.

Excellent personal item for travel and day pack

I bought this backpack several years ago and I've gotten a ton of use out of it. I'm super fussy about travel accessories and this one has made the cut! I wish I bought a more neutral color though.It's perfectly sized as an underseat personal item for airline travel, and also doubles as a sturdy hiking backpack for day use. I've taken it on day hikes in many places, and minimalist budget air travel all over the US. You can easily reach all the top compartments from your seat which is ideal if you're packed in a full flight. I've also done a 3-day trip with only just this bag, which works for me as a small person packing minimally.It works quite well both as a piece of luggage and a day trip item. Functional city/travel backpack

I am an avid fan of Fjallraven products and decided to purchase this backpack for daily use and for traveling. I've been using it for a few months and I'm extremely happy with the backpack. It is extremely spacious and holds more than I expected, and its material is lightweight but durable. It's comfortable to wear, and even holds my large water bottle in the side pocket! The laptop compartment is protective and secure, and has slots for both a laptop and a tablet. I would not use this as a hiking backpack personally, but would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid backpack for daily use that can also function as a spacious travel backpack.

Great EDC but some dye transfering issues

Perfect size for an EDC (every day carry). Fits my 15inch Macbook pro perfectly, only issue is the top quick access pocket gets in the way with the laptop so if you plan on using that pouch you'll need adjust the pouch inside the bag so it's sitting in front of the laptop and not towards the back panel. I wish the laptop panel had a bit of elastic to keep the laptop towards the back panel because it's quite loose in there. Laptop pouch is well padded and does not touch the bottom of the bag for good protection. Bag also has a slight angle towards the bag panel for better load distribution but this means you can't easily set it down without it falling over.I don't think it's an actual 20L size but those things aren't standardized, for me it's the perfect size for ... MorePerfect size for an EDC (every day carry). Great little package

Bought this backpack for my wife and she loves it. The color is great. We pushed it to its limit by taking it on an 11 mile hike to Grinnell Glacier in Glacier National Park and her only complaint was no chest strap. I wish Fjallraven made a chest strap to hold the straps together, but it was comfortable for her to wear otherwise for 6-7 hours on the trail, full of water and snacks. We bought a generic strap that will be suitable for future hikes, but as a day-pack/book carrier/travel pack, its really great.

Looks classic, but strap material is scratchy!

Love the classic look and the wide range of colors in the 20L Fjallraven Raven backpack...however, I was immediately disappointed today when I received my order and went to test it out. The straps are incredibly scratchy on my shoulders and neck! This would be impossible to wear comfortably with a tank top or shirt with an open neck. I read a ton of reviews before making my purchase and I can't believe no one has mentioned this before! A lot of other backpacks have extra piping along the outer edges of the straps, which helps eliminate contact of the scratchy stuff with your skin...but not this model. I love the pockets and structure overall, but these straps would rub my neck raw after a while! I actually look sunburned! Tactical snack bag

After moving on from diaper bag to handle a 4yo this was our choice. So far so good. A little narrow for me, wife says fits great. Easily adjustable for my broader shoulders but “not perfect”. Two water bottles. Misc snacks. Misc cloths and activities.

The ideal commuter or daytripper companion

A perfect daypack for adventures or commuting. Bag has two large compartments, each with mesh zip pouches internally. The main compartment includes a padded laptop sleeve, the second includes three pouches for small items and a pen. There is a small third compartment on the front of the bag for quick access, and a very useful valuables pocket on the very top of the bag, perfect size for a glasses case! Double water bottle pouches, padded back and straps, durable material, and great looks round out this awesome bag, you won’t be disappointed.

Useable size and good quality

It frees you up when you want to get a messenger bag out of the way and don’t want to load up like a pack mule. It fits my 14” macbook pro, full frame camera, sweater, gloves, two 20 oz bottles of water, plus some small things like keys and a leatherman. Perfect for keeping hands and arms free, no shoulder bag bouncing around. The fabric is strong and a nice durable texture with good color. Overall the shape is attractive and looks like a small day pack should. Socrates would be impressed with the “knapsack-ness”. The shoulder straps are plenty long enough for 99% of people.
