The Focal Stellia headphones reminded me of why I originally loved music and accepted the aggravation of vinyl and tubes fed into large bi-amped electrostatics: the sense of clarity, immediacy, and presence of music. Having descended into CDs and streaming over the past fifty years as children entered the scene and grew, music became part of the background. But the Stellias, fed with hi-res material by high-end sources, have brought back the joy of really listening to music and enjoying the artistry on display.

First off I'd like to review Audio46. This site is stellar! These are the third items that I've ordered from them. They always ship them out the same day and are just amazing. When I ordered these Stellia's I received an email roughly 10-15 mins later telling me that my ordered was being shipped out already. LESS THEN 15 MINS!!!! These guys are truly amazing. I've ordered from Apos, Linsoul, and Hifigo. All of them takes several days, or even 2.5 weeks in Apos's case, to even ship them out. Not get them in the mail, just them finally shipping them. Audio46 on other hand, less then 15 mins the last time I placed an order.My 'Open box" was 100% perfect. Not a single nick, ding, mark or imperfection. I own a few higher end headphones, Audeze LCD-2C, DCA Ether CX, HIFIMAN Sundara, HD Zeus, Senn HD6XX and now these. The unboxing is unlike anything I've seen before. First, everything comes in a large leather wrapped box sporting the Stellia and Focal badging on it tastefully. The cans come in a color matching semi rigid travel case. IMO, it's about the perfect size. They sit very nicely inside the case w/o the case taking up too much room. Then you get to the accessories. They also come in a leather wrapped foldout box that includes both a balanced and SE cable (3.5mm with a 6.5 screw on adaptor), and a leather portfolio that contains all the paperwork for them(Operating instructions, user manual, and a couple other papers).I've seen pictures and watched reviews about them on YouTube. They are so much better looking in person. Underneath the circle cutouts on the cups is leather once again. The leather headband is extremely nice in both looks and feel. The leather pads are made from what seems like the same leather with very soft memory foam inside. They are slightly lighter in weight then my LCD2's but with the suspension strap the LCD's have they actually feel lighter while wearing and actually more comfortable then the Stellia's. That said, I still don't have an issue wearing them for hours on end. They sound just as good as they look. Compared to my Ether CX, Stellia's seem to have a bit more sound stage. Imaging is very good. I play FPS games with them and can tell exactly where ppl are around me, yes I game with Stellia's, LCD2's, and Ether's haha. Extremely easy to drive. On my A90 on low gain I rarely get past 10 o-clock. The detail is truly amazing, fantastic! The mid's and high's sound really good also, no fatigue at all but I also rarely suffer from that. But the bass.... The bass sounds like the LCD-2C's. When I turn up the volume on some more bass'ier sounds I can actually feel them rumbling my cheeks lol. I'm NOT a bass head at all but these are just amazing. The bass is never bloated, very tight, quick, and impactful. These make me want to become a bass head though.Now for the bads. Really other then the weight of these w/o a suspension strap would be the cables. The Balanced one looks really good. It matches the Stellia's perfect but they are really heavy. They also keep their shape. The SE'd one is slightly better but still only SLIGHTLY better. It has the same drawbacks but it also doesn't look as nice since it is not cloth wrapped like the balanced one is. The SE'd cable is only rubber coated. That said, it doesn't look bad by any definition. It just doesn't look as nicely as the balanced one is all.Summary, worth every penny IMO. It's a work of art sitting on my desk while not being used and sounds better then it look. CLOSED BACK ENDGAME PERIOD.

Best closed back. If you are in an environment where don’t want to have sound disturb others or want to tune out outside noise there is no better headphone out there! Works as good if not better than any noise canceling headphone I have tried, and there is no active cancellation at all. The ear ups are that insulating yet not hot on head. Comfort is outstanding and they stay put walking through airports.

Andy suggested the Focal Stellia (to go with NDX2/SN3). They sound great to me. I am new to headphones. The build quality and craft are impressive (for those of you, who like me, care about this kind of stuff). I think that I may prefer them cf. my speakers; this is a real surprise. I did not compare them nor test them against anything else - I asked Andy what he suggested and he suggested these. As usual, it looks and sounds like he was spot on.
These are without a doubt one of the most impressive headphones I have ever had the pleasure of owning. It is like listening to a loudspeaker system honestly. I cant recall the last time headphones made me want to sit down and listen to music. They are actually quite dangerous because a hour of listening turns into 4 or 5 hours and you do not even realize it. They are super expensive and not everyone will justify the price which is completely understandable. However, if you are looking for a super audio experience with headphones, you cannot go wrong with these.
I am using them with AK SP2000T. Music is smooth and warm. The AK gives added experience with use of tube. I researched headphone for long time. The Stellia is a bench mark. Glad I have them.
My new go to anytime at home headphones. Paired with Moon Audio Black Dragon 5ft balanced 2.5 cable connected to Astell and Kern SE-100 DAP I chose this over the UTopia and Elegia. Why? It has soundstage close to the Utopia has better bass and slightly warmer in this configuration. More importantly does much better at blocking out surrounding sounds. The Utopia is definitely an awesome headphone but I am forced to listen in a room alone. I can even hear when the AC comes on. The Stellia provides a nice quiet seal. The Elegia is another great can but compared to both the Stellia and Utopia they are more analytical. It’s vey noticeable when you go directly from the Elegia to the Stellia. If I need more portability I use IEMs. I have a portable amp but to be honest the simplicity of connecting to the balanced connection on the SE-100 provides all the clean power I need. If you can afford these or get them at a lower cost I think these will stay in your stable. Between the awesome sound and sexy looks these in my opinion are already a classic so go the final mile and get the Black Dragon cable. You will want for nothing for years to come. With these you get excellent sound without having to worry about disturbing others.
These have to be heard. Feed them good electronics and quality source material and the aural experience is nothing short of divine.My only complaint is I feel the cable is too short. It works great with portable equipment but isn't so fun when used with larger stationary electronics. Not a deal-breaker imo.These are a must try for those seeking ultimate headphone nirvana.
After a 200 hour burn in I found the clarity and dynamics exceptional. Really fantastic soundstage for a closed-back headphone.The design and materials are second to none. Even the unboxing was an experience.Bass is heard and not felt, but as all things this is fine by me as its subjective.I originally had the Focal Clear. One thing that is odd to me is the Clear came with 3 cables:1 x 1.2m with 3.5mm stereo jack for connection to audiophile portable devices1 x 3m with 6.35mm stereo jack connector1 x 3m with XLR 4 pin symmetrical connectorYet the Stellia on came with One 4ft OFC 24 AWG cable with 1/8" (3.5mm) TRS Jack connectorOne 10ft OFC 24 AWG cable with 4-pin XLR connector.My only suggestion is the Stellia should have the extra cable.
So this is my 4th pair of Focal Headphones. I own the Clear, Elegia, Radiance and now the Stellia. The Stellia is an absolute gorgeous headphone with a very unique color scheme. I think that Focal's build quality is top notch. Every one of their headphones are super comfortable! The ear pads on these are so soft too compared to my other Focal headphones! This is a premium headphone and of course its expensive (but that's not Moon Audio's fault since it's the same MSRP everywhere). I think the Stellia is the best closed headphone out there from what I've heard. My transaction with Moon Audio was smooth as usual. I highly recommend everyone get one of their black dragon cables, to replace the stock cables.
