4 month review - G20

Follow-on: 4 months since my original review. Very satisfied. Would still buy this G20 again. I removed the weight stack shrouds and bought 2.5lb and 5.0lb removable weight plates designed for stacks from Amazon. Perfect solution for the 1:1 pulley. Jumping 10lbs for lateral raises can be a challenge. But now can go up in 2.5, 5.0, or 7.5lb increments. You could also get cheap 2.5lb 1" iron dumbbell plates and cut a 1/2" slice out to slide them onto the weight stack. Cheaper than the amazon solution (but you need a cutting torch or hack saw and a file). No issues with the quality so far. Unit is strong and solid. Using it 4-5x/wk and doing a wide variety of exercises makes a hypertrophy macro cycle more tolerable. Mix in dumbbells, and it's an endless variety. I never get bored or hit plateaus quickly.Recommend buying micro weights for the stacks and for the olympics. If your goal is strength or hypertrophy, those small weights make progressive overload possible. For me, going from 100lbs to 105lbs for a military press was too painful with a reconstructed 58-year-old shoulder. But being able to go from 100 to 101 to 102 all the way to 105 over a longer period of time made it possible, and limited the joint pain.Really happy with this purchase. Expensive, but worth it. You have to factor in the cost of a gym membership and the time to on the road vs. comfort of home. Plus no gyms are open at 3:45am when I get up to get after it and the most important part of my day.

First off this is an absolute beast of a machine and my workouts are on the next level using it. I would recommend to anyone looking for a All in One Trainer. I have a few comments that I think should be shared. I'm fairly mechanically inclined so I didn't have much trouble putting it together, but the instructions provided with the G20 are in need of help to say the least. (You can see the manual on the website under the G20 to take a look. In my opinion the manual should be changed to be more helpful with assembly.) Second, I wish that the G20 came with the Counter Balanced smith machine bar like with the G12 All in One Trainer. Third and final comment I have is none of the pieces are labeled for inventory. It’s a 1:1 ratio on the weight stack but you can remove inner panels and add some plate magic 2.5 and 5# weights to make it fractional. So we detached the pin (so it wasn’t ‘hanging’ and then we just hang the pin when not in use (ie: 10# which I think is the lowest weight). Our favorite is the leg press attachment, we love leg presses, and we don’t use a bench under but very thick pad on floor.I give it a 4star simply because there are some things, but minor. It was a good purchase for us and we love it since we received in March. Can not wait for some jammer arms! Commercial grade enough, it’s solid!

Never thought that i would find a complete machine like G20, it is as my dream come true excepts for some MAJOR things that i am suffering right now from:The first are the weights! it begins with 9KG which is equivalent to around 19 lb, and this prevents me from doing many exercises that doesn't require any heavy weights like "one arm triceps extensions" , "cable lower chest raise", & even flys variations which makes it extremely difficult & heavy to perform! i wish they begun with 5 KG or even smaller like 2 kg, i hope you can find a solution of the already purchased costumers. The 2nd problem is the weights pin, it is attached to the weights and there is no place to insert it in if i want to perform the cable lift without any weights! i should remove the wire ... MoreNever thought that i would find a complete machine like G20, it is as my dream come true excepts for some MAJOR things that i am suffering right now from:The first are the weights! it begins with 9KG which is equivalent to around 19 lb, and this prevents me from doing many exercises that doesn't require any heavy weights like "one arm triceps extensions" , "cable lower chest raise", & even flys variations which makes it extremely difficult & heavy to perform! i wish they begun with 5 KG or even smaller like 2 kg, i hope you can find a solution of the already purchased costumers. The 2nd problem is the weights pin, it is attached to the weights and there is no place to insert it in if i want to perform the cable lift without any weights! i should remove the wire from it completely or it will be left hanging causing noise by hitting the weights. So far (9 months in) it saved me allot of time and money for a workout with mind at ease :)

Monster Machine
9 January 2022

I ordered the G-20 on 11/5/21 and it arrived 12/2/21. The instructions were horrendous! We finally got it assembled and there are pros and cons to using the G-20. First of all, I love using the cables however I wish you could have 2.5 and 5 pound increments (something to add to weight stack) instead of jumping 10 pounds each weight increase. Also, one of the cable stacks makes a screeching noise while using. The Smith machine is nice except for when using the leg press attachment, it's very difficult to rack it back by yourself due to the angle. Solid built machine and it takes up a lot of room but I love working out on the machine and would definitely recommend.

More attachment will be better
7 April 2022

Bought the machine more than one year. Overall it was a good experience. The only limitation is the cable length when performing exercises with larger displacement. It would be great if there will be more attachments made available for purchase like the other models (jammer arms, belt squat lever, longer spotting arms, etc.) as well as the attachments for replacement and maintenance.

Bought the G20 & the Lat Row attachment. Not going to lie – for that amount of money, I was going to be either going to be very pleased or immediately returning for a refund. The G20 comes in 2 small crates for the weight stacks (300lbs each) and 2 larger wooden crates (175kg/250kg). The Lat Row comes in 2 crates – weight stack + larger wooden crate (120kg).Opening the crates was a sign of quality from the start. Well boxed and protected. Every component is individually bubble-wrapped. The weight alone brought confidence as I laid everything down in a room and inspected each piece.I must admit – I’m impressed by this unit. Started using it this morning for the first time and while it took an extra 20 minutes to figure out how to move things around and set up specific exercises, I was able to complete my normal 75-minute routine without a hitch. And now that I wrote down the weights for each of the exercises, I normally do for this G20, then the next workout should go back to 75 minutes.

I was told I could cut take off the shrouds to expose the weight stacks and add my own smaller weights. Yes please I want to cut up my brand new $8,000 machine! I was also told that I'm doing lat pulldowns wrong if my elbows are hitting the shrouds by a guy who knows this because he's 6'3" and he "has no problem".I think I were around 5'6" and around 515 lbs, with 12% body fat, this machine would have been perfect.

Very good but not quite commercial grade
8 December 2021

Overall I think the machine is a good and very useful tool for a home gym. It really is an all in 1 machine and a great space saver. However in my opinion it falls short from being commercial grade. Let's start with the hardware. Half inch aluminum nuts & bolts "made in China" that are vacuumed sealed to a piece of cardboard and includes cheap wrenches and allen-keys. Think Ikea build at home furniture and such. These tools would snap in 2 if I were to use them on Rogue hardware. I guess I'm spoiled by the heavy duty Rogue hardware. You're better off with your own tools. A 3rd party company quoted me $800 to build it for me. I passed and did it by myself in 2 days but it would be easier with 2 people. Next up the attachments, again not commercial grade, very lite weight, not the stainless steel stuff you find in commercial gyms. The unit comes with 2 globe pull up bars and a multi position bar attachments. All 3 together weigh less than my Rogue monster lite globe pull up bar. Next, the exercise chart panels both show pics of the exact same moves. A YouTube review gives the impression that each panel has different moves. Minor stuff but still annoying. My only real complaint is the owner's manual. The assembly images are not very clear and can be difficult to follow. I think Force should look into improving the quality of the manual so it's easier to see the images clearly. In summary a very good home machine that I recommend.

The attachments are legit, and with the exception of some very specific exercises requiring unique equipment at a gym, I can do everything I do at the gym, at home! Truthfully, I bought my plate weights and bar and dumbbells at a different location, but that’s not to say that their quality is poor. This is a very well-designed machine, and when installed correctly and patiently, it is super sturdy! Ours is in our basement. I would be extremely leery putting this on an upstairs level, due to the weight. The cable action is extremely smooth, and the adjustable handles on each side that move up and down operate like butter! I hate the ones at the gym that go down smooth but require two hands to push up. These are extremely smooth going up too. I would highly recommend!
