Fractal Design Torrent FD-C-TOR1A-03 Tempered Glass Clear Tint E-ATX Mid-Tower Case White
Built to maximize cooling potential straight out of the box, the Torrent comes with a component layout and two custom-made Dynamic PWM / Prisma RGB fans. The Torrent is a perfect fit for anyone serious about cooling - with or without a custom water loop. Designed for exceptional performance at controlled sound levels with fan hub. The 38 mm thick blades leverage power, size, and thickness for massive air-moving capacity. Streamlined through and through for component breathing room and superlative airflow. Streamlined open interior provides plenty of breathing room for components and maximizes performance potential for both air and water cooling. Front fan brackets allow for unblocked airflow to the larger fans while catering to standard radiator and fan sizes. Both front and bottom panel can support extra-thick radiators and push-pull fan configurations up to 420 mm. Seven bridgeless expansion slots allow for extensive customization. Removable top bezel and cable guides with cable straps make for easy installation and cable management. Two sturdy steel drive trays with vibration-damping rubber grommets for smooth, quiet and reliable operation. Integrated support for a water-cooling reservoir on the motherboard tray.

relevant info:- final amount was $163.33 (w/ $50 gift card and payboo card)- purchased as special order dec 4, 2022, selected option to delay shipment jan 9, 2023, arrived jan 10- minor exterior blemish on top of casenote:- fan hub is unable to handle all five case fans, i recommend connecting around twoWhite chassis with air flow and relatively easy to navigate through. The price is not practical and the fan hub is limited in practicality but it accomplished everything I needed.

I'd watched a lot of case reviews and decided on this one. I've had several Fractal cases in the past and they are ALWAYS a pleasure to build in. I've built many computers before and this full build only took me about 20 to 30 minutes to put everything in AND cable manage it. You can't beat that. The airflow is so good, the case looks good, and it was great to work in. I know people say this case is expensive, but keep in mind you are getting 5 GOOD fans and a fan hub, in a good looking, high quality case. You can't beat it. Highly recommend.

This case provides excellent airflow and features but is cheaply built for he price, including other Fractal cases. The back and top panel are flimsy and do not inspire confidence, and the front panel is not secured very firmly. However, the included 180mm fans generate massive airflow and are relatively quiet.

First this case should not require you to run fans full speed. There are so many fans with so much airflow I have them set to never get over 70% speed unless the CPU is really really hot. This case is not perfect. It pretty much requires an air-cooler. I would not put an AIO in this case mainly because of their tube lengths to the front which is the only location for the AIO. Then you loose at lease 2 of the nice fans that came with this case. A custom liquid loop would work well in this case though. Second this case is pretty much gamer focused. I have a picture of the old corsair 550D for comparison. That case could be for gaming pc but also media center (4 optical drive slots) or a home NAS. But the Torrent does have better airflow. The Torrent does not have the ... MoreFirst this case should not require you to run fans full speed. That case could be for gaming pc but also media center (4 optical drive slots) or a home NAS. But the Torrent does have better airflow. The Torrent does not have the HDD/SSD slots to be a really storage server, if that was a goal. Building in the case was easy, nice large cable openings for cable management. I honestly purchased this case because I loved the way it looked, it had great airflow for GPU and CPU temps and its fantastic media reviews. As a side I haven't used an air-cooler in a PC since 2010. The pc is only slightly noisier than my old one, I think because this case has so much airflow the fans don't need to work that hard.
This is a great case for a non-AIO cpu cooler (ex: noctua) and a moderately powerful graphics card. The huge intakes are great for this.Where it hits it's limits:- the only place to put an AIO is in the front. this DRAMATICALLY restricts airflow. It basically breaks the airflow.- The only exhausts are the dedicated exhaust fan and the intake for the PSU. powerful devices can overwhelm this.- the 4090 connector (if the car is horizontal) will need to bend a lot to close the side door. Given how 4090s fail, a horizontal 4090 setup in this that will last is a no go.- if you want to use your 1300k/4090 for long term rendering, you will generate too much heat for the exhaust paths. The heat gets funneled through the PSU causing massive heat spikes.
This case is very easy to build in and supports very large/thick radiators in the front. There are a few quirks with this case though that you will want to consider. First off, the bottom fans are held in by a tray and it is impossible to take this tray out if you have anything mounted in the front of the case. If you are watercooling, you will want to furnish this tray with fans and/or radiators before putting anything in the front of the case, otherwise you will need to take everything apart. Second, there isn't a lot of room behind the motherboard tray for hiding wires, and since these side panels are only held in by friction, it is easy for thick wires to pop this panel off. Besides that, this case is excellent. I only wish it had vertical PCIe slots next to the ... MoreThis case is very easy to build in and supports very large/thick radiators in the front. An exquisitely put together case. Easy to build in, cable manage, and runs whisper quiet thanks to it's prodigiously sized fans. Rather glad I didn't get the RGB version, as the huge fans would have been blinding from where my tower sits on my desk.
I love this case. Great construction, attention to detail, and overall aesthetics. I'm an air cooled guy and this lowered my temps by 10C across the board. I would 100% buy this case and recommend it to anyone looking for their next case. My favorite part: In game this case breathes so well it's actually quieter than the suffocating NZXT 510i that my previous build was in.PS. I was able to pick this up, open box, with absolutely zero defects for 25% off. I Love Microcenter
The Fractal Design Torrent is a pretty nice case. Fairly roomy, decent airflow, decent stock fans included, drive bays nicely tucked away around the back, and the top-mount bucket for the power supply is actually quite nice to work with. There's plenty of room here for a beefy cpu cooler and a long gpu, and there's even an included gpu support bracket. Four SSD mount slots are around the back, as well as two HDD bays. The only downside to these that I found was the angle at which they are installed all but requires straight sata cables. With enough finagling, you can make angled cables work, but it does make cable management a chore.Speaking of cable management, there are plenty of holes through the back to route cables cleanly, and the top mounted psu bucket is ... With enough finagling, you can make angled cables work, but it does make cable management a chore.Speaking of cable management, there are plenty of holes through the back to route cables cleanly, and the top mounted psu bucket is wonderful for working with the power cables. There are 3 bottom mounted 140mm intake fans as well as 2 large 180mm front mounted intake fans, with a fan hub situated nicely around the back. With a bit of adjustments to the fan curve, these are pretty good in terms of performance versus sound. They're a bit noisy when they ramp up, but honestly, the air flow is decent enough that a less aggressive fan curve should be sufficient for most workloads or ambient temperatures. The legs at the bottom of the case also provide enough clearance for cleaning so the bottom fans are not obstructed and aren't just pulling in dust. Finally, the top panel has a good set of ports. 2 USB 3.2, 1 USB Type-C, a mic jack and a headphone jack, and a small reset button. Do keep in mind that these all sit flat on top, so you'll need clearance above for connecting things.Overall, for the price, I wouldn't say this was the greatest case I've built in, but there is a lot to like about it. It has pretty good thermals, and it looks clean, which is precisely what I was going for with this current build.
Nice case, something to note though I bought a artic liquid freezer 2 420mm aio, it didn’t fit(description says it fits a 420mm front mount). Apparently this is a known thing but I wasn’t aware. I returned my 420mm for a 360mm and it’s great. I also really like the power supply compartment, plenty of room to work.
