This is a book I have read numerous times and each time I learn something new, picking up something I missed along the way. That is because it is such a detailed and descriptive book, amazing how it came from the mind of a young girl. It explores the need for relationships, the dangers of knowledge and the significance humanity place on appearance amongst numerous others. As the leading science fiction novel, it is a truely remarkable tale. It leaves you questioning your own values and actions. It was a pleasure to study with so many symbols, motifs and different character aspects. It is one of those books you must read in your life, even out of curiousity. I love it and strongly reccomend it, even though some scenes feel like they are never ending, it is very ... MoreThis is a book I have read numerous times and each time I learn something new, picking up something I missed along the way. Although the language can be hard at first to adjust to, "Frankenstein" is a must read. This gripping tale that leaves the reader both scared of what might happen, and also invested in the unlikely romance and desire, is great for all.

Frankenstein was one of my prescribed second year university texts. I felt like I had to slog through the first half of the book as it was over-descriptive and felt like it wasn't taking much of a direction. However the second half of the book was much more exciting and I read it within a day. I must admit I had to look up the definition of quite a few words and found that sometimes the language was abit beyond me. Overall I enjoyed the text and enjoyed finally knowing where the famous tale originates from.
My daughter needed this for school. BAM staff was awesome...they showed us 7 or 8 different editions! My daughter chose this one because she felt it was a good size for class and had wide margins for making notations.
Youd expect a good binding on a book produced by Barnes & Noble. This is no exception. Paper though is average quality. There are no notes to accompany text and no record of when this title was originally issued.
While the description suggested the book might be risqué, I did not expect the constant use of the F word, so quit reading and threw it away!
I only read a few chapters. It was filled with so much sexual sin that my spirit prompted me to get rid of it.
The writing style flows nicely. The story’s theme is overly raw with so many tragedies, it borders on being unbelievable. It’s not my type of fiction.
leave frankenstein's monster alone. he just wants to read books in his hovel and be loved and accepted. we all have daddy issues just bc he's 8 feet tall doesn't mean u get to vilify him for it. #relatable

Frankenstein (popular Penguins)
Mary Shelley (1797-1851), the daughter of pioneering thinkers Mary Wollstonecraft and William Godwin, eloped with the poet Percy Shelley at the age of sixteen. Three years later, during a wet summer on Lake Geneva, Shelley famously wrote her masterpiece, Frankenstein. The years of her marriage were blighted by the deaths of three of her four children, and further tragedy followed in 1822, when Percy Shelley drowned in Italy. Following his death, Mary Shelley returned to England and continued to travel and write until her own death at the age of fifty-three.
