I continue to take pictures using film -- even in this digital age -- because of it's higher resolution. I prefer Fuji 200 ASA because of its high color saturation and versatility for both indoor and outdoor use.It has all but disappeared from stores, so I'm happy to still find it available from mail order. I'm just disappointed that the price is rather high.

Fujicolor C200 is a very nice color negative film that also scans very well. With professional films experiencing price increases, an amateur film is certainly an inexpensive and worthwhile alternative and the C200 meets that description well. It has grain like anyone should expect from a 200 ISO film but the grain is very pleasing. Color renditions as well as shadow details are superb. The three pack of 36 exposure rolls comes to about $6 a roll which is more affordable than three rolls of Portra 400. Just something to consider when looking for color film alternatives.

Fuji C200 is a solid consumer film; perfect for casual shooting. I usually use it for landscapes (especially in the snow) because of its perfect black value. It handles high contrast scenes very well, capturing true blacks instead of underexposed grain mud. The saturation is usually much stronger in green and magentas, but still renders white surfaces (like snow) naturally. Even though this has normal grain, it is quite fine and won't distract from the images.

This film is very affordable and I love shooting it because I'm not thinking about how much per picture - I can just go shoot. The quality is good too. There's a little more grain than others but for me, that's part of why I shoot film. The colors are good and of course there's good exposure latitude so you can do a lot of adjustments after scanning.

Good.

Very wide range of uses, vivid colors mixed with great contrast! The grain structure is just fine enough for my liking, being noticable when you look for it, but almost disapearing in some shots, I almost forget some photos are film! I would gladly shoot again and again, but the film can be bland at some points, and too green in flower stems.

It's OK
4 April 2022

On a recent trip, I used my Canon FTb out in the Texas sun to shoot 5 rolls of FujiFilm 200. The color in the outdoor shots was pretty accurate and the grain was relatively minimal. However, any crispness disappeared in shots of people. Was it me? Did I move more with people than in landscapes? It's possible. But a couple months ago a took a bunch of interior shots with Portra 400 and they were all sharp.

My go-to daylight vacation film
18 September 2019

This is one of the only amazing deals in film left at less than four bucks a roll. If you're shooting in daylight or with a flash, Fujifim 200 is a great universal film. If I go on an outdoor vacation, this is my default film. Decently wide exposure lattitude, pleasing colors, light and dark skin tones are all very natural, assuming your lab has a decent scanner. Blue/green/aqua colors pop, which means shots with clear sky and/or water are spectacular. I know there's a rumor that Fuji has green shadows, but I've gotten nice deep blacks when properly exposing Fujifilm 200. I like to switch between Fuji 200 and Kodak Gold 200. I've used Portra 160 but it's too purple/orange in a wierd way for me.

Nice fresh film with a 2024 expiration date
11 April 2022

Nice to have available new color film for a guy that last shot some expired stuff. It's refreshing to have the negatives lay flat in the scanner carrier after processing instead of curling on the edges.I processed the film myself in CineStill CS41. Only slight down side to me with this film was that a scan of negatives resulted in a slight yellow-green tendency. Correctable with photo software and maybe the problem was old chemistry or temperature or something I did.I'd buy it again.

Not very Fuji
11 July 2022

I got this as i needed some colour 35mm to go to Arctic Norway in June. I was surprised by the results as it isn't very "Fuji", the colours are very muted compared to Superior and other Fuji films. It was ok, but certainly lacked the punch in the blue skies (which are incredibly blue in the far North). In cloudy conditions it was very muted compared to Kodak films (except Portra). Not sure I'd use this again as i like colour film to be slightly more snazzy, but of you like the muted and slightly washed out look, then this is for you.
