A great little camera which I hope to master one day.

It has so many operating controls , some of which can be re-programmed, and a menu system which will take quite some time for me to study. The fujifilm X-T2 is an absolute pleasure to use. This is my first fuji camera and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I have been a canon user since I went to digital from my medium format hasselblad. I haven't had so much fun with a camera system since the hasselblad. I love the dials and the mechanics of the camera. I really loathe scrolling through menus to make setting changes. This X-T1 peaked my interest when it was released. I tend to avoid the first model of a new camera series when it first comes to market. I prefer to let other eager beavers be the folks to work out the bugs on new systems. When the X-T2 hit the shelves, I started planning a purchase. I have no regrets in buying the X-T2. I am so thoroughly impressed with fuji's willingness to respond to customer complaints, requests and issues with regular firmware updates. The 18-55 "kit" lens is fabulous. A perfect knock around lens that is light enough to take backpacking without ever worrying about it, but still sharp enough to never really feel disappointed with the quality of the photos it produces. The 18-55 focal length on the crop sensor is a great package for my use and I'm pleased with the image stabilization. The fujinon lenses appear every bit as sharp as my Canon L glass. The low light performance is better than I ever hoped for on a crop sensor. The focus system is quick and accurate. I wouldn't use this camera if I was only shooting fast moving wildlife or sports but I'm very content with the focussing performance. The options available for focus settings and jpeg film simulations are impressive and I look forward to playing with these features more. I would suggest this camera to anyone that is looking for a relatively compact rig that is incredibly capable. This is a camera for people that like to fiddle with settings in manual mode and not for people who just run auto.

I love the IQ of the JPGS right out of the camera, the colors are absolutely awesome. The EVF is bright, easy to use which I was worried about since I now have to wear glasses. The AF is quick although you do need to read up on the settings when using tracking not because it doesn't work well but because it can be set to work even better for specific types of movement. I usually use rear command dial to set aperture and rear AF-L to auto focus and was very pleased to see I could personalize the XT2 to my shooting style no problem. Only negative to me is the placement of right strap lug which is located on the side unlike on top like Nikon. It causes peak design strap to be in my way. No biggie I just use the bottom lug now - problem solved. I must admit I now understand why their are so many Fuji X fans out there of which I am a new recruit. Highly recommend.

I'm upgrading from the X-Pro 1 so I've been a Fuji shooter for a number of years and have a number of existing lenses already in my collection. While I enjoyed my time with the X-Pro 1 considerably it lagged in a few areas, namely autofocus and the EVF just wasn't up to snuff when it came to moving subjects or critical focus.I've only had a few days to explore the X-T2 but it appears that Fuji has resolved any issues with autofocus and EVF. The usability features have been significantly improved making the camera a joy to work with. Previously my 60mm lens was largely unusable due to issues with autofocus but with the new camera its quick to focus, accurate, and with the new view options for the EVF I can do critical focus easily. The downside is that this thing ... MoreI'm upgrading from the X-Pro 1 so I've been a Fuji shooter for a number of years and have a number of existing lenses already in my collection. Previously my 60mm lens was largely unusable due to issues with autofocus but with the new camera its quick to focus, accurate, and with the new view options for the EVF I can do critical focus easily. The downside is that this thing gobbles up batteries even in normal mode. I ordered the battery grip which does add considerably to the bulk of the camera (which is still much smaller than a DSLR) but does allow you to shoot for a full afternoon without worrying about swapping out batteries.Image quality is something left for the professionals to quibble over. I've been part of the fuji system for a few years and I've generally been pleased with the quality. Its a bigger file, looks a bit cleaner, and the expanded range of simulation modes allow me to customize my raw file in lightroom. The camera provides an insane number of options so it will take some time to get familiar with all of them.My primary issue with the camera aside from the battery life is the wifi connectivity with the Fuji app on my iphone. Its annoying to get it to connect and then it drops the connection after I complete an operation meaning I have to reconnect. This is a software fix, not a hardware one so I'm not too concerned about it.Overall, if you're already a Fuji shooter and looking at an upgrade, yeah, totally do it. I'd strongly recommend getting the battery grip to increase the number of frames you can snap off before needing to slap in a new battery. I shoot landscapes and portraits so I'm not too concerned about the increased size that the grip provides, street shooters or people who want a very compact camera should just carry around a bunch of spares (depending on how long you're going out).

Fuji X-T2 excellence

I had previously bought the Fuji X-T20, had a great few months with that and loved the ease of use, light weight and great photos. When Adorama offered the the X-T20's big brother, the excellant X-T2 with the 18-55mm lens, awesome battery grip and normal grip for an extraordinary low cost of $1499, I jumped on it. I have been merrily shooting basketball and portraits since! The X-T2 has very good low light capability, even for the dimly lit gyms the basketball games have been in. I was worried about having to shoot an APS-C sensor at high ISO in order to keep the high shutter speed in the low light, however I have had no issues with the X-T2 and a little post processing. The photographs look great. The EVF is AWESOME! The extra controls on the grip in portrait mode, the excellent grip itself and extra boost for high mechanical shutter speeds have been a God send. The battery grip also offers a great counter balance for larger lenses, like the 16-55mm F/2.8 and 50-140mm F/2.8. The Fuji X-cameras have an easy to use and intuitive menu that I have really enjoyed. The picture quality is on par with my Sony A7II (IMHO), and the Fuji lenses are superb! I enjoy the Fuji X-T2 and X-T20 so much, I look for reasons to use them weekly.

The Fuji XT-2 is an incredible and versatile camera, even now that its younger revision, the XT-3, has been released. After years of menu diving in clunky DSLRs, I have never been happier with a camera's interface. Its dials mean I hardly even spend time in its menus. Its size and weather-sealing motivate me to take the XT-2 everywhere, regardless of wind and weather. It's sensor is incredible and only time I wished it was full-frame, is in incredible challenging, low-light conditions. Fuji's selection of lenses is not only reasonable priced, but probably offer the most complete coverage of focal lengths of any crop-factor manufacturer. Its EVF is fast, large, and high-resolution. The articulated screen allow for discrete street photography in public. Switched from Nikon to Fujifilm. XT-2 the camera for photographers.

After a long time of using Nikon gear, I decided to divorce and switch into the world of mirrorless cameras. I have read everything I could find, I watched a number of tutorials and finally decided to buy a Fujifilm camera. What a tool and a big difference. After turning on and switching into the manual mode I started using this camera right away without meandering through menus. All parameters I was able to set like on an old rangefinder - with dials. With this camera possibilities are endless, limited only by your creativity. What is important everything is in a small package so your spine will be very happy.

Throw Away that iPhone! The X-T2 is Here!
30 September 2016

Like Brian Fellows on "Safari Planet," I am not a professional but merely an enthusiastic young man who is getting into photography. Like most in my demographic, I started with that most democratic of media: the iPhone selfie. But, there are only so many torso shots one can take with the iPhone, so I wanted to upgrade my hardware. (No pun intended?)I purchased the Fujifilm X-T10 and was impressed by its handling, retro design, and IQ. One thing about the X-T10 was that people enjoyed having their pictures taken--there is something about the small, stylish throwback look that brings out a nostalgia for film photography and glamour shots. However, the smaller sensor--vis a vis Sony or any of the DSLRs--and the lack of a manual ISO dial made me wish for something ... MoreLike Brian Fellows on "Safari Planet," I am not a professional but merely an enthusiastic young man who is getting into photography. However, the smaller sensor--vis a vis Sony or any of the DSLRs--and the lack of a manual ISO dial made me wish for something more powerful.Enter the X-T2. This thing is a monster. It is significantly larger than the X-T10, and is a significant upgrade from both the X-T10 and its direct ancestor, the X-T1. The IQ is incredible, and the noise on higher ISO shots is not noticeable. I like to take late night photos, on dark streets, bars, and hole-in-the-wall music venues, and combined with the excellent Fujinon 56mm f/1.2 and the ISO pushed to 25,600 or even 51,200, I have been able to get usable shots. The best thing about the X-T2 is that exposure is fully manually adjustable: the shutter speed, ISO, and on most of the Fujinon lenses the aperture. What this means is that there is unparalleled control when taking shots. The X-T2 is truly the ultimate symbiosis of the benefits of digital (near-limitless exposures, instant viewing of shots) and analog (manual control, style). Combined with Fujinon lenses, you will not need another camera for a long time--except perhaps the forthcoming Fuji medium format mirrorless camera. Also, the adjustable three-axis LCD screen is great for creative selfies. Just saying.

XT-2 is a winner!

Initially, I started with an X100. I enjoyed using it so much and decided to step up to an interchangeable system. I tried all the versions - XT20, XE3, Pro, etc and found the XT-2 had the best balance and feel in my hands, along with the best viewfinder, and loads of options!I recently brought it out to a company billiards party and had great luck shooting with it my first time out. The lighting was poor, with fluorescent overheads above the tables, but the images came out great with high ISO settings.I found it easy to switch between single shot and continuous "burst" shots, and the joystick makes creating unique focus points a breeze. Instead of being able to change the aperture via a speed dial on the camera (Canon), you have to turn the aperture ring on the lens (Fuji). It's a muscle memory thing, and I'm sure I'll adapt with more useExcited to explore and learn more about the camera, and take it out for more shooting soon!

I am somewhat competent with pp but have found the baked in settings and jpegs very good. I wanted a small setup so got the 28 pancake and it is a really small package. I have other lens zooms and primes and all have been good. The miniscule 28 is crackerjack sharp and has a very pleasing bokeh. The menu system is good and the ergonomics are especially good for my large hands My panny GX8 is prone to me pushing buttons unintentionally but so far the fuji is better. I thought I would be sorry for not getting the XH1 for its larger viewfinder and inbody stabilization but it is all working out with the stabilized 18-55 and 50-200. I did buy an lens adaptor and tryed my Micro Nikkor G 60mm and while this lens seems small on my D700 it is a tank on the XT2. The focus peaking and magnifiyed view work well and image quality was great but I would just get the Fuji macro for its OIS and AF. All the items that I needed were on substantial rebates so I was able to set up a system at less cost than anticipated. I thought the joystick for moving the focus point would not be useful bit it is a joy to use. The dials for iso, SS, Exp Comp are really a joy to use and I seem to be able to make quick changes while looking through the viewfinder. Batter life is somewhat short but that is a drawback of most mirroless cameras. I walked 2 miles on the beach then climbed to the top of Big Sable point lighthouse hands and knees out the hatch to the catwalk and my NX300 had a deadbattery. I have carried extras since that adventure. So I am quite happy with my XT2 and the Fuji experience. The camera comes with a tiny hotshoe flash that works very well in a dining room with 9 foot ceiling and for tripping an Youngnou flash optically. Of course I have lost the PC cord dust cover, it was loose an I was to busy to tighten it and then it was gone. I will probably never use the PC. I let a friend take some photos with the cam he shoots oly and pentax and he said soon as he held it he knew it was a quality product. He was able to pick the cam up and just start shooting and did pretty good so I would take that as a plus for the ergonomics and ease of use.
