While I’m not new to photography, this is my first Fujifilm camera, and I’m impressed with all the features offered for the price. The build quality, grip, and looks of the camera are superb. The film simulations can be added to a recipe and with the addition of other settings and changes such as white balance, saturation, grain, clarity, and more, create your own unique look. The skin tones produced with this camera are truly as creamy and amazing as everyone always says about Fujifilm cameras. With your applied customized settings, the jpegs straight out of camera can certainly be frame worthy. I may not ever bother with shooting in raw with how great these photos look honestly. I can't wait to develop my skills more and more with time using this camera and I'm just over the moon about it. With the 18-55mm lens, it's a compact and light, carry everywhere with you type of camera. Exactly what I had hoped for and a dream of a camera for someone like me who has the passion and love for the type of photography that mimics the look and feel of the old film days.

I have not upgraded my XT-3 as I despise the selfie screens that came out the same time IBIS came out on the XT-4. Yet I've been curious about IBIS as I own most of the prime lenses Fuji makes. The XH-2 is scheduled for next year, but I suspect it will also have the selfie screen as Fuji has become more video (camcorder) oriented than camera oriented. I will not spend that kind of money for anything with a selfie screen. So the XH-2 is a doubtful purchase as well.But the X-S10 is not expensive and I could afford it, so my curiosity (and GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome) got the best of me. I decide it was a good buy and would allow me to see just how much IBIS helps with a lens that does not have OIS. Plus it would make a good back up for my XT-3.I was very ... The IBIS on my morning low light walks just performs incredibly well. I am able to shoot at lower ISO settings and faster shutter speeds giving me MUCH sharper images than I could get without IBIS. I prefer to take walks and shoot whatever comes to my attention. I don't like having to carry a tripod on my walks so this is a GREAT solution.It does have a selfie screen which does strike me as cheap and flimsy, but lately that appears to be the industry standard so I guess I'll have to live with it. Knowing I can use it will allow me to consider the XH-2 when it comes out.There is something else though. I can't put my finger on it, but there is something about this X-S10 that is just wonderful. It does strike me as a beginners camera, but the build quality and output images are professional quality. There is a feel to it I can't describe. It is just an extremely comfortable camera. The X-S10/35 f1.4 combo is just magic! It feels great in the hand - I love using it.Overall is is a great camera and well worth the investment.

The X-S10 feels great in the hand, the 16-80mm kit lens is ideal for travel and landscape. It's 5 x zoom capability also lets you get detail shots too. The image quality is fantastic with the 26 MP sensor capturing lots of detail and the Fujifilm Film simulation settings give you easy access to colour and contrast tweaks at the turn of a dial. On top of that In-Body Image Stabilisation lets you shoot at low shutter speeds without a tripod. I could go on - there is so much to love about this camera and ... I used a Canon 700D for a number of years whilst living in China and got really great results from it, but after using a Fujifilm X30 several years ago I realised that I rather prefer an electronic viewfinder and the Fujifilm build quality. Now I finally decided to upgrade after the birth of my daughter and cannot be happier.This camera is an absolute joy to use. It feels great in the hands (better than the Canon) and I have been really impressed with the images that I have gotten with it. Nice dynamic range and colours - especially with Classic Chrome and a touch of additional saturation. I contemplated going with the Fujifilm X100V, but instead decided on this camera with the 23mm f2.0. I may lose a little IQ, but the lens is far better when used as it is meant to be than reviewers would have you believe and I have image stabilisation. The lack of weather sealing on this camera should not be a problem. Even my older plastic Canon DSLR held up in the harsh conditions in the subarctic north and subtropical south of China just fine. As for Canon, they have temporarily lost my business by only making heavy, expensive lenses that I can't afford.
I have had the X-S10 for a few weeks now. The biggest disappointment is that the Shutter Speed and Aperture dials cannot be swapped. The Aperture is at the front and the Shutter Speed is at the back. I hate this set up since all my other cameras are set up the other way around, and every time I need to react fast to change my shutter speed, I end up changing the aperture. It is insane that this cannot be changed in the X-S10.Other annoyances include the most dysfunctional and illogical menu layout. This is ten times worse than Sony, but worst of all is that some times you make changes in the menu and the camera doesn't reflect the changes that you make. This has also happened with my GFX 100S, so obviously Fuji has issues with the code that underlines the ... MoreI have had the X-S10 for a few weeks now. For the purposes of this review, make note that the aforementioned cameras are Bridge Cameras, that is, they are a hybrid of point and shoot and a DSLR with a zoom lens. Also add that they are 'Mirrorless'. Reading and watching all the reviews, I found myself gravitating to the Fujifilm X-S10 because it would be the logical next step in the type of camera for my style of shooting photos. So far, I have acquired the 16-80mm and the 70-300mm zoom lenses to closely approximate the range I had with my previous camera. Most of my photos now are for just getting acquainted with the camera, but the keepers are... not too shabby. Next, I will be looking for a prime lens or two at my favorite focal lengths for speed. But, for now my two lenses cover just about every situation. The additional film simulation modes take me back to the negative and transparency films I used to shoot. Deja vu all over again. An important feature of the camera body is the grip is much like my previous Fujifilm cameras; I can grasp the camera with one hand securely. To sum it up, if you are making a move from a point and shoot or Bridge camera, the X-S10 should be on your short list.
After my trusty X-T30 started acting up I was ready to upgrade to the X-T5... until I didn't, and went for the X-S10. After watching and reading tons of reviews, I decided on the X-S10. A few reasons:- The grip! What a difference the grip makes with longer and heavier lenses, or just for single-handed operation- Same IBIS as the X-T4, which was perfectly fine until a couple of months ago (and still is)- Small and light, almost as light as my X-T30- 26MP is more than enough for my application (amateur, photography only). Keeps file sizes relatively small and efficient.- Much improved autofocus compared to the X-T30- Same battery as the X-T30- Saved enough to buy better glass- Reasonable number of customizable buttons- Still has a pop-up flash (which ... Also kudos to B&H for their support and fast response in solving an issue that turned out to be my own mistake.
