(911 reviews)

Designed for videographers and action photographers alike, the black FUJIFILM X-T3 is a versatile mirrorless camera characterized by its high-speed performance, more-than-capable imaging, and multimedia flexibility. Revolving around a newly developed image sensor and processor, both high-resolution stills and 4K video can be recorded while an apt autofocus system delivers quick and accurate focusing performance. The sensor, a 26.1MP APS-C-format X-Trans CMOS 4, features a back-illuminated design, to promote greater image quality throughout the sensitivity range, along with an expansive 2.16m-point phase-detection autofocus system for quick, precise AF performance and subject tracking. Complementing the imaging and focusing is the X-Processor 4, which uses four CPUs for faster image processing as well as continuous shooting up to 11 fps with a mechanical shutter, 30 fps shooting at a 1.25x crop and electronic shutter, and internal 4K60p 10-bit video recording. Like previous X-T cameras, the X-T3 retains its classically inspired looks and prominent tactile controls, and adds a new OLED electronic viewfinder design with 3.69m-dot resolution and a high 0.75x magnification. This finder has a high refresh rate of 100 fps for fluid viewing and remains blackout-free while shooting at the top 30 fps shooting rate. Also, a unique Sports Finder Mode can be used, which highlights the 16.6MP crop area in order to give you additional room outside of the frame to recognize moving subjects. Conversely, a rear 3.2" 1.04m-dot LCD monitor can also be used for live view shooting and larger image playback. Additionally, the X-T3 also sports built-in Bluetooth for wireless sharing and remote control, and the magnesium-alloy body is fully weather-sealed for working in trying weather conditions.

A ! Upgrade!

Back to the future! GREAT form factor; FANTASTIC battery life; TERRIFIC aesthetic and photog-centric design; and BEAUTIFUL pics!! Autofocus is wonderfully FAST. Is it perfect? No - as High ISO may need managing, and so too low light continuous focusing at longer distances. However the community is huge, and slights can be managed not only by tweaks and custom button changes of firmware (turning off IBIS), but through Fuji's commitment to continuous improvement of firmware (Kaizen). I really like this upgrade from the XT-3!

Exactly what I want in a camera

I preordered the X-T5 from B&H the moment it became available, and I received it within a week of its release. It replaced my X-T30, a good camera. But the X-T5 is the next level, or two, or three above.... It's exactly what I want in a (primarily) stills camera. I have tested the camera with my 35 f1.4, 16 f2.8, and Viltrox 56 1.4. There's a definite increase in sharpness and resolution with the new 40mp sensor over the X-T30. Also, so many jpegs are excellent right out of the camera, a surprise over the X-T30. The AF-S autofocus is fast and spot on. I haven't tested it in every AF-C scenario (testing is ongoing), but so far it performs fine. Overall, the X-T5 is a definite upgrade. The X-T5 is the culminations of all my expectations. Fujifilm really got it right with this camera. BTY, as always, thanks to B&H. Always reliable with great customer service.

Excellent in its class, and a worthy successor to X-T4
1 December 2022

I am a Sony A7V/RIV shooter and I had added Fuji X-T4 to my kit about a year ago as a walkaround/fun camera for lower pace, artsy photo outings and street photography. Its design provided a more tactile, slower, old-school shooting experience; the 'recipes' less need for post processing, all of which I love. But the focus system left me unimpressed and wanting more. When X-T5 was announced, I preordered it with excitement and with some trepidation due to the new higher density sensor potentially diminishing the superb performance of the sensors in the older bodies. I was very happy to see that there is no regression, and in fact, I think the noise profile has improved in a way. Compared to X-T4, there isn't less noise necessarily, but noise that does exist looks better to my eyes. The famous Fuji colors and image quality are all there as well. Coupled with the better focusing system, effecive in-body stabilization and the zippier processor, I think the X-T5 is the top of the line enthusiast camera in 2022. I still feel Sony bodies are better suited face unpredicted/unknown shooting conditions and for high-paced/high-pressure pro jobs, but to me and I suspect for many Fuji users as well, the X-T series is not for that type of photography anyway. If you like the whole Fujifilm subculture, or want to go back to fundamentals and nostaliga of photography as art, it is the camera to get. Highly recommended.

Fuji build the best camera, nailed it again
5 January 2023

After owning X-T2 and X-T4, I can say the X-T5 is a great APS-C for still photo shooter like me.The ergonomic has improved (yeah bigger back button focus ), I prefer the back LCD screen that way for streetphoto although it is exposed 100% of the time, trade off. I notice the auto-iso speed go over 1/500s I am glad Fuji re-introduced the handgrip (I had to get a 3rd party for the X-T4). The body weight loss is palpable and I had no chance yet to test the battery life, yet kudos to keep the same battery as the X-T4, the dual charger is well invested :)The RAW are getting big - 50 MB each - and not all lenses seem to benefit from the 40 MP resolution, you can always lower the resolution setting if the pixel count don't need to be crazy.

Fuji combine charm with prowess

I set out to bag an X-T4 but it was outside my price range. The X-T3 is a truly exceptional alternative but lacks the in body image stabilization of the X-T4. That aside the X-T3 is beautifully made camera that looks as good as it shoots. If you love bomb proof construction, more manual controls than enough, a great range of amazing lenses all wrapped up in a body compact enough to take with you where ever you go then this might just be it. Constructed from 4 Magnesium Alloy sections and fully weather sealed it's likely to be a long and faithful companion. I've had many cameras over my 40 years in photography but (so far) this is my favourite. I may look to step up to an X-T4 if finances ever allow but I don't feel like I've "settled" for the X-T3, I just need to ... MoreI set out to bag an X-T4 but it was outside my price range. I may look to step up to an X-T4 if finances ever allow but I don't feel like I've "settled" for the X-T3, I just need to take a little more care when relying on stabilised lenses. Also, I come from an era when stabilisation didn't exist and you took a tripod everywhere, and with the newer carbon fiber tripods and monopods even this is less of a chore. I thought I'd dislike the X-Trans sensor but even this is much improved in its fourth incarnation so all in all I'm very happy with my purchase. Despite some very strong video chops it's not best suited for vlogging as the rear screen tilts up, down and to one side but never faces forward. The 3.69-million-dot electronic viewfinder is also excellent even with my glasses on and now the dioptric adjustment locks so one less thing to need "correcting" on a shoot. All in all a very nice camera that really feels like proper kit and not a toy.

With all the new Fuji options, I decided to sell my old kit. I've used an X-Pro 2 since 2017 for street, landscape, portrait, birding, everything. My kit included XF16 f1.4, XF100-400, XF80, XF50. Many pros and many cons to those combinations, but it was time for a change. I sold all of it.I purchased the XH2, carried it for a mountain bike ride shooting landscapes and ravens, then returned it. Great images, but... It's too heavy for my trail kit. Too much video camera for my needs. I missed my xPro dials, so I ordered the XT5. It's much lighter, yet not too small. The flip out screen is delicate but functional. AF is heavenly compared to Xpro. EVF is bright and huge...I can see! Still a Great Workhorse in 2022
3 December 2022

I bought Fuji X-T3 a while ago and still it's running great. For stills honestly they are as good as my full frame cameras (some clients don't like that this camera is smaller.... You know how it is). I shoot architecture and spaces and this camera has all the resolutions I need. For videos I use this camera too and is the video files great or what. Shoot with right settings and color grade with davinci resolve, the results are amazing. I love this camera. Part of me is tempted to upgrade to X-T4 or 5 but I just can't let it go even by the end of 2022.

Traditional excellence
3 February 2023

This is the camera (and the system) to buy if you love a traditional, intuitive, simple interface. It provides direct access to the essentials via mechanical dials and switches. Yes, endless menu options are there if you want them. But the basics are right in front of you all the time. Shutter feel and handling are excellent. It's compact and solid. The sliver finish is lovely, especially when paired with the little 'Fujicron' silver prime lenses.Image quality is excellent, printable up to ~20 x 30 easily. To get anything better you'll have to spend twice as much for a full frame camera, and you'll lose the lovely ergonomics and simplicity. Image stabilization is very good, as is autofocus.

Trip Camera
16 March 2022

I purchased the camera so I can use it on my upcoming trip. Fast auto focus, nice grip because I don't have big hands. Takes great photos in any light environment. The only downside that I have is that I ran into is the fact that when I'm using the zoom lens occasionally the camera freezes and prompt me to turn off the camera and turn it back on. That has happened in numerous occasions and the problem does not get fixed. I have to wait for at least 30 minutes or so, so I can use it again. Many users have the same issue and one recommendation was to clean the contacts from the camera and the lens. Apparently that has work. I have not reached out to B&H regarding the issue especially because the camera is still new. I'll continue to use it and hopefully the issue has ... MoreI purchased the camera so I can use it on my upcoming trip. Fast auto focus, nice grip because I don't have big hands.
