Comfort - light, comfortable even in warm weather. Strap is soft but doesn't stick to your wrist like some smartwatches do. Buttons easy to operate even when hands are wet/sweaty.Functions - Admittedly I use this as a travel watch more than a fitness watch, so i was most impressed that it can display 2 time zones at once with todays date & day. This is perfect so you know when it's a good time to call home and you won't lose track of what day it is. The water resistance of 200m means you don't even have to take it off when swimming.Display - very clear display even in direct bright sunlight. Very good night light.

This watch looks the business, simple and exactly what I wanted as a loyal G Shock Customer. However, its functionality is awful. This has clearly been rushed to market and not tested properly and for me it does not uphold the G Shock brand. The Step Counter is awful, it counts whilst I type and drive! Then the App and watch give me random speeds and distances i.e. 0.5 miles then uploads to strava the correct data i.e 10 miles. How can the data the Casio app sends to Strava give different readings! Sorry Casio, I have reluctantly sent it back :-(. I will wait a year or 2 for you to get it right

Love the watch, battery life is atrocious

I love the watch, I've had it just over two years and it does pretty much everything I want it to do along with a lot of features that I hardly ever use. If that was all, it would get 5 stars, but the battery life is very poor. Maybe because I prefer to use the discreet vibration rather than the beep to let me know I've pressed a button or for notification. Whatever the reason, the battery lasts a few months, well short of the two years Casio claims. Not a huge problem, batteries are quite cheap and changing a battery takes about 15 minutes, but still a disappointment. So, five stars for the watch and its functions, 1 star for battery life. Result: 3 stars.

Poor software spoils a good watch
5 June 2020

I must own 20 G shocks and was looking forward to this model but I’m really disappointed. On the positive side the display is incredibly clear with large bright digits. It’s the software and other screens that let it down sadly. The font for phone alerts is tiny, and accessing them takes so many button presses it is all but impossible to use. I also found the step counter totally inaccurate (even though it is paired with my iPhone 11) showing hundreds of steps walking from my lounge to the kitchen! - aside from the main screen with the time display, I can’t see myself using these features as they are so fiddly and inaccurate

I have bought many watches over the years and tend to use the same retailers (for obvious reasons).I looked recently for a particular watch, the Casio G-SHOCK G-SQUAD GBD-100-1ER and, although it was available from many outlets (including one of my favourite and trusted providers), the price on FCW was cheaper than anyone else by around 20%. I then also received a 5% 'first time buyer' discount. This proved enough for me to give FCW a try.I thought, it wasn't a particularly expensive watch and, I wasn't in any particular rush to get it anyway.Within minutes of placing my order, I received confirmation. Encouraging I thought. The next day I received confirmation that the watch had been ‘dispatched’. Absolutely, 100%.I’m a real sucker for great comms, low prices and fast delivery! Who wouldn’t be?

30 January 2022

So first I would have to say that my first G-Shock was purchased about 25 years ago, it finally started coming apart on a work trip back in Oct. So I figured I'd have to get a new watch and so I started looking. So I have looked at this one and I've looked at that one and then I just go back and say, this one's done me good let me look into buying another one. So I got the GA700VB-1A I truly hope that this will be my last watch I ever will have to buy. The only bad thing is that the company they use for delivery is not ok!!I ordered on Jan 6th, it was finally in my hands on Jan 25.Not about the ex company, the watch is amazing and I would recommend the brand.

The G Shock Power Trainer Commands Respect

This watch is exactly what I was looking for: a quality, reliable and accurate time piece, built for rugged use. Aside from the long standing stellar reputation that G Shocks command, this piece also accomplishes my desire to track my steps each day, and it also looks fantastic. In a sea of so many black watches, this desert tan color really stands out. Just adds a nice touch of form, to the vital aspect of reliable function. Thank you for this model, Casio!

The right kind of smart

Track runs in KM or Mi pace. You can change the run track display layout. Useful stopwatch and interval settings. Will only track running, not any other type of sport so look else where if you're really want to do that, likewise if you want a HRM on your wrist, but I don't miss the HRM.The Casio app works well and its clear and modern style easy to navigate. It also allows some account to account sync of your activities, I sync to Strava.I don't use the notifications, they are fiddly and kind of pointless, I'm never away from my phone and hated notifications on the the other smart watches. Having Bluetooth off should extend battery life even further, I just connect it to sync ever so often.Living with the GBD-100 is a joy, if it had solar charging that would be the cherry on top hence only 4 stars. If you want a good watch with a little bit more this is ideal. If you want whistles and bells look else where.

Very Basic Sports Functions
28 November 2021

I love G-Shock watches, but this is not a great sports watch. The only thing you can accurately record are road runs. I like cycling and indoor training, which this watch claims to track but doesn't really. The menus to access are fiddly, the reading of messages on your watch is a waste of time and is nowhere near the i-watch, Samsung or likes of Garmin. It tries to be a hybrid watch, but actually doesn't deliver any to its full potential. The only good thing is the look, because I love G-Shock. But it you want a watch for multi sports, phones messages, alerts, then don't both and go for one of the above mentioned at around same or less price.

Watch OK. Communications poor.
5 August 2020

The watch itself is fine; everything you would expect of a G-Shock. However the Bluetooth communications are poor; pairing took several attempts, and it took 13 attempts to install a watch update. Downloading of activities into the 'Move' app is very unreliable, sometimes runs appear within minutes, sometimes not at all, and I can see no evidence that the watch uses the smartphone GPS to improve its accuracy.

These are the latest additions to the G-SHOCK Sports watches. These watches can link with the GPS of a smartphone for quicker calibration of distance measurements, enabling more accurate running distance measurements, even during use without a phone connection. Distance measurements let you keep track of your running pace, and enable use of an Auto Lap feature that automatically keeps track of times over a specific distance. Other standard features include a step tracker, interval timers (up to 20 sets of five timers each), lap time measurement (up to 140 records for up to 100 runs), and calories burned measurement, all of which provide plenty of support for your daily training. Also, new phone apps are now available to help you configure watch settings more easily and manage your workouts. In addition to Life Log and Activity History apps, you can automatically create a training plan based on targets specified by you. The displays of these watches use a high-definition MIP LCD, while Super Illuminator face illumination keeps face information easy to read, even in the dark. The soft urethane band material provides improved comfort, while a large number of band holes let you adjust the fit to your particular wrist. The watch maintains a constant Bluetooth connection with your phone to support auto time adjustment, phone notifications, step tracking, and other functions throughout the day. Even so, battery life is approximately two years between replacements. From daily health management to improved running endurance, these new G-SHOCK Sports models provide tools that support a wide range of fitness needs.
