Threw that ram in and worked right out of the box and yea, holding those 2 side by side… no comparison. If you want to save a few bucks and take a gamble go with this ram. It will either work or it won’t. If you need something reliable and can’t have it fail on you, go with some more expensive ram. Its worth it for that alone. Just don’t think its going to necessarily be the best cost to performance ratio. But it will improve your reliability and that’s well worth it to me!

This RAM was recommended to me by a friend after I searched for more cost efficient RAM. I certainly paid the price for skimping on RAM. After testing the RAM prior to assembly and seeing no problems, I installed it and 1-2 days later received my first BSOD. I thought, “that’s odd, but maybe it was an issue with Windows.” Did a Windows file check and Driver Verifier which both came up clean. I bought this G.Skill kit to replace the single preinstalled 9GB memory stick and take the system to 16GB of RAM operating in dual channel. After installing and checking the system, it is indeed running 16GB of System Ram, however it is only at 2133Mhz. Looking at the RAM SPD with CPU-Z, it appears that the 2400Mhz speed is via an XMP profile. The HP does not support any XMP, so the memory will never hit that 2400Mhz speed that the original 8GB preinstalled DIMM did. Excellent Value for an 11th-Gen Intel System

It's budget DRAM that's good for an entry-level system with potential for higher performance. See attached photos for timing configurations and AIDA64 benchmark. There are 2 possible routes to take with this kit: 1) go with the default XMP setting to play it safe and achieve 3000 MT/s or higher frequency, but at cost of higher latency; or 2) adjust the timings manually to attempt to lower latency, but most likely requires frequency at 2933 MT/s. Choose carefully depending on what your workload requires. Update the motherboard BIOS if necessary. Personally, I went with the latter route since its latency benchmark was too high for my liking. The default XMP profile yielded 70ns latency in benchmarks, and my manual setting lowered it to low-50s. Good budget memory

Last time I tried upgrading memory in my desktop I ended up burning out a brand-new stick since one of the slots ended up being too close to the CPU cooler. Thus, I shopped for memory sticks which would allow me to install 16GB on two slots so that I could maintain proper RAM spacing, and this came out as one of the lesser-expensive models from a respected brand. The modules arrived quickly and installed without issue, and now I've been going about a month with absolutely zero memory issues at all. Others have noted that there is no additional heat dissipation on these chips. The pretty design on the front is just a sticker over the memory chips, not a painted/molded metal heatsink the way most other high-end memory is. Good ram card at a good price, much troubleshooting

This is my second card that I ordered, last one I bought back in January, all I did was press reorder. My old card says MFG Oct 2020, and this one says April 2021. My old card has 16 1 GB ram modules on it, and the new one only has 8 2 GB modules. At first, I thought the RAM was defective, as my PC wouldn't boot after installing, and then I realized the differences in the cards. I had to update my BIOS, and then still had issues getting it to work, as putting my old card in the second slot, and my new one in the fourth slot would only allow the cards to reach 2133 MHz, though when I ran them each alone, they worked fine. This was an extremely long and tedious process, as my PC boots from an HDD. I would likely replace all of my ram, because of worry of a potential compatibility issue. Overall, they work as intended, even though it was difficult to make them, good RAM

RAM possibly went bad after not even 2 months of use.. More like bad after a couple hours of use.

Around the time when I first built the PC, everything worked fine and was setup easy without any trouble. That was 1-2 months ago and the PC was not touched at all from then until today since I was on a long vacation. It has not been powered on, moved, or plugged in between that time and was in one single spot. Fast forward to today, nothing is happening on the screen. In the PC, all the fans spins including the PSU fan and the CPU Fan and all of the lights comes on. It's just nothing happening on the screen. I tried 3 different monitors with the dedicated video card and the on-board video (no change at all, still nothing on the screen). I removed one RAM stick, and it worked. You would think the problem is solved, however.. So then I went to verify the amount of RAM via windows and the BIOS in case it wasn't seated right the first time. It's only showing 1 stick of RAM for only 8GB and yes it's seated right. And now from that point on, it won't boot if that that RAM stick is in the slot. In order to boot, that RAM stick needs to be out. Other small details (the issues is a little in-consistent): If I wait long enough to see if it will boot WITH the questionable RAM stick in, then only sometimes the system will restart itself after like 30 seconds. It has only happened twice in my many attempts. I had high hopes for this RAM, but I don't think I'll be back. I'll try to get a replacement but if that don't work, then I'm done.

This is RAM. It works as promised. It has the specs claimed. It has had no issues. Buy this RAM if you need or want what's described. Don't buy this RAM if you need or want something else. (If so far

Otherwise, you may read the review on this RAM and be worried that "only 66% are 5* reviews, which seems kinda low" and/or "12% of the reviews are 3* or below, which seems pretty high." Well, if you read carefully, you'll notice the low reviews all discuss a supposed issue certain individual claim to have had reaching the full 3000mHz speed advertised. Know who this doesn't affect or warrant thinking about? Anyone with an Intel processor rather than a Ryzen (which I bet is the majority of folks reading this review). Second, though only 66% of reviews are 5* (which admittedly I would in isolation consider "low"), that number spikes to 88% when considering both 4* and 5* reviews. Go read the 4* reviews to find a bunch of reasons that shouldn't detract from or even be considered in evaluating this product's rating. For example, at least a few 4* reviewers appear to have shaved a full star off their rating solely due to the lack of a heat sink included on/with this RAM—a feature which is never even hinted as being included anywhere in the item description, and which isn't some industry standard included with every other (or even most) brands/models of RAM. The fact it's not included doesn't impact the rating of this; if the heat sink mattered to you that much, products like this wouldn't even be on your radar (not to mention you'd probably be in a difference price range altogether), so it doesn't make sense to criticize a product that reflects not having a heat sink in the fact of its fantastic price. Reviewers: If you got exactly what you were told you'd be paying for, are receiving the exact performance you expected, and got it at a great price, be accurate with the rating and review, taking into account that a lot of people are scared to make these purchases and anything less than 5* generally signifies to most, or at least many, consumers that there's something less or worse than expected about it.
