I have had this reel for at least 3 years, is used on a weekly basis and lives outside.Build quality is not bad, I have never had an issue with the hose connection or plastic construction (lives out in the elements). The extendable handle is too short to wheel around and is hard to collapse (so I have never collapsed it) but it does make it easy to carry in the garden.I have a long hose (40m I think) on it which makes it hard to wind up. There is not enough space to get a foot on it to stabilise - My method is one forearm putting downward pressure on the extendable handle with the hand guiding the hose on the reel, the other hand turning the handle and clamping the base between my feet.Good reels are very hard to find... I wouldn't buy it again but will keep ... MoreI have had this reel for at least 3 years, is used on a weekly basis and lives outside.Build quality is not bad, I have never had an issue with the hose connection or plastic construction (lives out in the elements). Was fiddly to put together. Trolley is very light weight and doesn't stay in place while being wound up, so I have to hold it in place with with foot and chin while winding. The handle is too short for your average Australian male, so I have to bend over while wheeling it around. And retracting the handle for storage is so difficult and fiddly that it's not even worth bothering.Aside from the above issues, it's not bad for day-to-day use. Pulling out the hose from the trolley is effortless, and the trolley stays put.I'd recommend getting a bigger and sturdier trolley.

seems solid and functional. Good quality. Only reason for no 5 stars is the absence of a connection to your tap which I had to go back and buy for an extra $20. It was not clear this was required.

I bought this today and was a bit fiddly to put together. It’s very lightweight and so when retracting the hose, you have to use your foot to keep it done. The retractable handle is too much effort to push down.I do recommend buying this but not for the price!I’d give it 3.5 stars. It does get the job done but believe this is overpriced.
Good to easily move the hose reel from place to place. Easy winding hose back onto the reel when finished.
This has been such a handy purchase. Have a 30m gardenia hose and thought I’d just loop it up after each use, but that proved to be quite tiresome and a dirty job if the hose had been lying over garden beds. This has made winding up the hose so easy and keeps it neatly when not in use. And I can move the hose easily from back to front yard.
Still new but seems to work. Hose unrolls easily without tipping cart over. Pretty good to rewind as long as keep a foot on the stand and guide the hose. Easy to move cart around. Having place to click on hose when not in use stops it unrolling in storage. Not cheap.
Very happy with product for the price. Easy to assemble sturdy construction and stable when rewound and extended over distance. Wife can handle with ease. Recommend.
The trolley is meant to fit a 40m hose on it but it barely fits a 30m hose that I bought even when neatly rolled to maximise the space on the reel. The shop didn't have the 'medium' size trolley on the shelves so I wasn't even aware that bigger ones were made. But that shouldn't matter if the trolley specify as fit for a 40m hose. Well, it isn't!! There is not way you could fit 40m hose on it and with my 30m hose I have to really roll it on tightly to be able to fit it all on!!
I bought this to replace an older Gardena unit that has lasted over 30 years in the outside till dreaded rust broke the leg. Hopefully this unit will last 1/2 as long. Simple assembly though less capacity of hose than previous unit.
