Had instinct solar since Christmas 23. Now it’s March 1st. I have used it every day and here are my thoughts.Pro: not heavy on the wrist, accurate in steps and distance keeping, accurate for bicycle miles, accurate for time. It took me a little time to figure it out because I am older and eyes not so good, but now it’s easy to operate. Overall a good product and I would buy again.Cons: although it has a light it’s not that easy to see time in middle of the night, I was hoping the hands would be luminescent so the shine all the time. Straps are garbage and should offer a metal upgrade strap which I got 3rd party. Also the solar part seems a bit pointless as it only charges such a little bit. The main charge lasts about 12 days. I bought the Instinct Crossover a few months ago and have been using it for a lot of running as well as my everyday wear. I’d been pretty skeptical of whether I needed a smart watch for my training—I am blown away by how much benefit I have gotten from the data this thing captures. I love the look and the functionality. The device is easy to use and I’ve had no problems with it! Great battery life too. Can’t wait to bring it on more adventures.

I've been a Garmin watch wearer for years now. I have the Instinct, Solar Instinct, Fenix 5 Pro, Fenix 6 Pro and now the Instinct Crossover. I love that it has the ruggedness of what I need out and about, either at work or at play!! It has pretty much all the features as my Fenix 6, just not the pizzaz of a color screen. I do wish the beep tone was louder though, other than that I'd recommend this watch!

The Garmin Instinct Crossover is a really nice hybrid watch. The analogy hands are easy to read under minimal or bright lighting conditions. Also with a battery life of over one week typical there is no cause for missed charging anxiety which many smart watches account for.The ABC, GPS, and health tracking features are all included in the watch design at a price that is most competitive for an attractive and reliable smart watch. I really enjoy using this watch as a techie.
I don’t love it as much as I thought I would. It looks great and I like the analog/screen combination. Accessing features is very fiddly, even basic things like stopwatch and timer. Garmin pay is not practical and I wouldn’t use it unless you don’t have your phone or card with you. I can’t find an easy option to view the battery level which should be a basic function. Probably most importantly I expected the screen to be more hard wearing for a watch that is sold for outdoor tactical use, it already has a scratch after wear around the house. Given another opportunity I would not purchase this product.
This is coming from a user. My current collection includes a Forerunner 255, Instinct and 530 bike computer. So why did I buy the Crossover you ask? Because I wanted a new gadget, why else?Seriously, the crossover is a great piece of kit for $400! So I started looking for something that combined the g-shock look of my instinct with the functionality of the forerunner. I run on Zwift when I travel and the instinct doesn’t support virtual running. So when I saw the crossover I was smitten with the physical hands and functionality. Given its battery life, instantly thought this will be a great vacation watch that includes some training. When I found in the specs it supports virtual running I hit “buy”!After a month, I’m really pleased with it. Makes a great g-shock ... MoreThis is coming from a user. Makes a great g-shock style casual watch but with all the garmin functions you could ever need. The battery life is real. I like how the hands become a needle on some tracking functions like heart rate for example. Very handy. Only gripe is my bank doesn’t support garmin pay but that isn’t Garmins fault. If in doubt, buy!
I've had this watch a couple months now. I wore a much simpler Garmin Vivo series for the last five years and thought I would upgrade.Pros are lots of features and mostly easy-to-read display. I like a watch with hands so this was perfect for me.Cons are the operating system and features are NOT as intuitive as I would like. I'm learning, but finding an app and getting it started takes far longer than necessary sometimes. Lots of clicks. I miss the simple VIVO sometimes when I just simply want to start an activity.
This is the watch many of us have been waiting for! I love the Garmin Fenix watches I have owned (and still own!) over the years but I have longed for a watch with an analog face. Garmin’s clever integration of an analog face with digital display and Garmin’s class-leading health and performance metrics make for an unbeatable watch. Battery life is excellent and the watch does everything I need it to. Highly recommended!
It has actual analog hands, it has solar charging and a battery that seems to last forever, it tracks my sleep, it lets me respond to text messages - what's not to like? The tacticool version is neat because the imprinted letters aren't painted so the whole thing is black. IMO it is not overly large; it's nothing like the freakish size of a GShock - completely normal-looking. I appreciate that the hands always show the time even at weird angles and are glow-in-the dark. The UI and buttons take some getting used-to but become natural. It's neat that you can display coordinates in other formats besides the tacticool military format, such as UTM. The "Morning Report" is now a routine part of waking up. Good job, Garmin!
