Epic watch, with everything you need, plus a little more. I went from an Apple watch to a Garmin, and couldn't be happier. The screen quality is great, the watch has most of the same features on the Fenix7, and the battery life is more than enough for your day to day needs. Highly recommend.

I did a lot of research prior to purchase, so there was no surprises in what this does or doesn't do. Getting used to the UI took a little while, and as someone who came from a few years as an Apple Watch wearer - maybe took more getting used to. Both are good devices, just have different primary purposes. I even considered wearing both (but .. so far haven't :) ) As an aside, the Apple Watch lets you set up a lot of stuff on the phone and it appears like that in the Watch. This requires some level of configuration on the watch itself which is a bit fiddly - but once it is done, you really set and forget. Battery life measured in days (or weeks if you turn a few things off) is a bonus. In fairness, if you turn all the things on like an Apple Watch always has on - the battery life is likely close to parity - but the point is, this device gives you more options there to maximise battery if that is your thing. As an item of fashion - the device is not an elegant dress watch, but it doesn't look like I am wearing a massive chunky ugly fitness device on my arm - it looks like a slightly large casual watch. Perfectly fine for most things short of greeting Her Majesty at the Opera. Other Garmin devices have options for a slightly smaller or slightly larger face as well - this seems like 'just the right size' for me. If you have a dainty wrist, you might want to look at a smaller device. If you have Andre the Giant arms, then maybe the larger one would look just fine. It feels very rugged and is waterproof to some level I will never be swimming to anyway - the sapphire screen has so far resisted everything I've thrown at it, but at the same time the watch is light enough that you don't feel like you are dragging it around. As for the service from Rebel, I knew what I wanted - but was glad that they had stock in a store I could go look at because my only question was how 'chunky' it looked - most places said "we will have to order it in .. if you already decided you want it". The sales person who helped me was VERY knowledgeable, and didn't try and steer me towards something else or spin a story about features or capability and offered to open a box and let me try it on (they didn't yet have the dummy non-functioning display model yet). He was able to relate his own experiences with a different device and asked me the sort of questions that made sure he was talking to my needs and not some generic sales pitch.

The new Garmin Epix has exceeded my expectations. I am loving the clear and bright screen and the watch's functionality and user interface. So far I am really impressed with the Training productivity assessment, highlighting appropriate recovery time, and the sleep score. Very smart and relevant information. I have even ditched my cycling computer and use my watch instead, using the optional bike mount.

Yet to explore all of the endless features but the AMOLED display for the screen is a real improvement here. Some touch screen features a nice new addition as well as the usual buttons. Nice enough looking to wear everyday. So many screen options. Comfortable band and a lot lighter to wear than my current Fenix solar. Set up with Spotify for music, no complaints.
Have enjoyed everything about this watch and love it so much more than my old Fitbit Charge 4 tracker. Such a looooong battery life too. The Epix is EPIC. I thought at the start it was a little heavy, but quickly got used to it -- but that was because I only had a small tracker before, not a smart watch. Notifications are great, syncs well, updates regularly and the night mode is great too. I think it tracks my sleep much more accurately than my old Fitbit too. Now my wife wants to change to Garmin from her Fitbit Versa 2 too. Very pleased and would highly recommend.
Love the screen and functionality. The battery does run down a little faster than I expected but I have done lots of GPS activity. It should still be more than adequate for an upcoming IM. Glances don't really work properly, they only flash up periodically. Also, and this is my biggest gripe, it didn't record laps or distance on pool swims. If they fixed the glances and the pool swimming I would give it 5*.
Great watch, on the larger side for a female with a small wrist, however it’s light and flatter than my instinct. Battery doesn’t last as long as I’d hoped for but the Instinct was a beast when it came to the battery life. Is so use it when exercising five days with a heart rate monitor. I’m hoping when the sun comes out I’ll be able to take advantage of the solar.
This is by far the best sports watch you can buy at the moment. I upgraded from a fenix 6 for the amoled screen and new features, have not been disappointed. The screen is simply beautiful. Higher res than Apple Watch, colours are amazing. The maps are actually usable now unlike being a sort of tack on feature of the fenix 6. It’s really visible in dark and full sun. I love running in the dark or low light with it as it is so easy to read - less time looking at watch and more on the trail. The touch works great - it makes the map usable - I love it on runs and hikes as I can stop, and pan around the map quickly to work out where I am and where I want to be.It has every feature imaginable for training and navigation. I probably use 20% of the features available ... MoreThis is by far the best sports watch you can buy at the moment. I probably use 20% of the features available but then a different user may use a different 20%.But basically it all comes down to that screen and amazing battery life. It’s like an Apple Watch with decent battery. The gesture control is great. I can get loads of time out of the watch using it.I am a trail runner and mountainbike but dabble in kayaking, surfing, swimming, road cycling and hiking. This watch is great for all of them and more. For 99% of people the battery on this thing will exceed what you need. I get that we all wish we were ultra runners but the reality is most of us are going out running 5-10ks. I’ve used this watch for whole day trail runs in the mountains and it’s been fine. If you’re really worried get a charging puck.If you can afford this watch, or get it. There is simply nothing else like it on the market today. Garmin have done an excellent job.
Initially I was skeptical in buying this whether I need to send this much. But you won’t get disappointed at all. This watch looks amazing.I have a very small wrist but still it’s amazing. I made a shift from my Apple Watch and I would recommend this watch to buy. Excellent display and looks premium. Surprisingly less weight.
Really, this is a very nice timepiece. It’s of course, so much more; fitness watch, timer, stopwatch, heart rate monitor, personal trainer, sleep monitor, blood oxygen monitor, stress monitor, breathing rate monitor, temperature sensor, barometer, accelerometer, pedometer, multi-band, multi-frequency GPS with mapping - and then all the intelligent metrics that make use of those core functions and data. It’s also lightweight, smart to look at, with a beautiful, vibrant screen and a long battery life. It’s an intelligent watch. I’m very grateful to have been given one of these by my very generous and thoughtful wife. 😉. If you choose one, I don’t expect you’ll be disappointed.
