Purchased these and the SAE 13 pc set for myself Christmas 2018. They arrived, i cleaned them up and as with the other set, the offsets are inconsistant. A couple have bent beams. These are the china made versions of my older sets made in taiwan which I love. The newer sets lack the small lip that keep the ratchet end on the fastener. Fastener fitment on the open ends seems a bit sloppy compared to older sets. Nit picky maybe, but important to me. They have been used sparingly since first use and deservedly so to put it nicely. Love my old sets but cannot recommend the new ones. I still give 2 stars as Home Depot CS went above and beyond in trying to make this purchase right and hopeful my sets are the exception and not the norm.

I personally think theyre over priced a bit. But so is every other thing under the sun i reckon. I owned a set years ago that never failed me so hopefully these dont either. I love em. Aside from the fatter boxed ratcheting part being a bit bulkier so it wont fit in every single application. A real handy time saver nonetheless. I prefer the reversible variety personally but the straigh ones have their place too. If you are reading this, chances are you know what im trying to say. Get em. You'll not regret it

I was so happy to receive my 16 piece GearWrench Metric Reversible Combination Ratcheting Wrench Set. It looks like some of the quality with GearWrench has went downhill. Maybe their standards on quality changed and quality doesn't count anymore. The 21 mm wrench looks like it is already starting to rust on the open end, That makes me wonder how long the chrome finish is even going to last. In the description it says there is a 15゚ offset but the 9mm wrench looks to have about 5 degrees. The paper wrapper that was around the wrenches shows the sizes are stamped into the open end part of the wrench but these wrenches are not marked like that. Some of the reversing levers are a little hard to move but maybe they will get better after they're used for a while. The ratching box ends have 72 teeth for smooth operation and only 5 degrees of swing, which is a real time saver ( the smaller 8mm wrench is listed as having 6 degrees of swing). The end is off set at 15 degrees for saving your knuckles. These can handle a lot of torque even with the fine tooth ratchet mechanism. The finish is highly polished for oil and grease resistance making clean up easy and provides rust and corrosion prevention, and the engraved size markings make it easy to find the size you are looking for. The plastic holder is a nice way to keep these organized while being a portable way to bring you wrenches to your work. The first thing you notice about this Gearwrench Metric Reversible Combination Ratcheting Wrench Set (16 pieces) is it is just so complete. From 8MM - 25MM. The handles are thin to get into tight places, but the heads are thick and look strong. The closed end has the ratcheting capability that makes it versatile. The 15° offset helps with knuckle clearance, and the chrome finish looks durable. This is a very convenient set. The wrenches snap into the rack and can be easily moved from location to location. This set will more than suffice for home use, and any home mechanical project, like maintenance of my snowblower and lawnmower. The lifetime warranty is a plus.

Aside from the reverse, the ratchet mechanism doesn't feel any different than the cheaper model gearwrench you can purchase for half the price. This makes it difficult to get another click in a tight spot. Let down #3: The handle is still too sharp, though not as sharp as the older model straight gearwrench. But still, sharp enough to be uncomfortable if breaking any more than 1 bolt free. The manufacturer could have easily rounded the handle to be more ergonomic but chose not to. Conclusion: They're probable fine if you only use your tools on the weekend or a couple times a month, but the let downs get old quick when you use them all the time. For the guy trying to earn a living with his tools, he might as well save up for the snap-on reversibles because these are nothing short of another mass produced careless company trying to stick their greasy hands in your wallet all the while shafting you with a 500% retail markup.
