I was so pleased to receive this styler for review. I had been using a Dyson Corrale iron for a couple of years as I had ditched the harsh hot tools due to excessive heat damage and split ends. One quick pass is enough to straighten my stubborn hair, whereas I needed 2-3 passes with my previous irons. I can do my whole head of hair (about 28 inches long) in less than five minutes, which is crucial when trying to get out the door in the morning. The other miracle is that, for some reason, my hair remains completely straight and frizz-free throughout the day. Humidity no longer seems to affect it! The only complaint I have about this product has nothing to do with my results, it’s really just in its description; the box mentions that it’s motion censored for even results, but I’m not sure if this means it will merely keep the same heat temp consistently, or if it’s advanced enough in technology that it can tell if you’ve slowed down your passes therefore lowering temperature enough to prevent frying. A more detailed explanation of its technology would be greatly appreciated as I want to understand in full what’s happening with this device. Other than that I very highly recommend this styler to anyone that is looking for a Good Hair Day everyday. You’ll spend less time on your hair and retain your results longer. When I tried the Chronos for the first time, it felt like using a turbocharged version of my beloved Platinum+.What I liked the most is the new wishbone hinge that makes the styler so much easier to maneuver. In first place, it makes the body of the Chronos more flexible so you need less pressure to hold and glide the styler which translates into less tension in your hand/wrist. I also love how smoother my curls look on rainy days when the humidity usually makes a frizzy mess.I've always appreciated how ghd takes care of the heat setting/temperature control with its built-in technology and I really like that the 'one-and-only' button is located on the inside so it never gets in the way while using the tool.On the downside, the styler initially left a bit of a plastic-y smell on my hair and hands but it faded away, after 4-5 uses I couldn't smell it anymore. I also wish it was cordless, but probably they kept the cord to guarantee a better performance even for professional use.I know curling your hair with a styler definitely has a learning curve but it's really worth it in my opinion, so I feel like a tool like the Chronos is a very good investment, also considered it has universal voltage and a 3 years warranty which is very rare and a good peace of mind.

As a bonus I have found that I have not needed to re style my hair all that or the next day no matter what the British weather throws at me! A must have in my hair routine to make my hair look and feel so soft and silky.In regards to the speed of styling the chronos is really quick, I have noticed that I don’t need to repeat strands of my hair like I have previously with other stylers. This too goes for curling or controlling a flick at the ends of the style . My hair looks full and curled after one stroke with the styler to curl. Again for all styles it stops frizzy ends and makes my hair look so shiny and soft!The only thing I would say is that there is a slight high pitched noise that comes from the styler whilst you are using it. Although it doesn’t affect use and it is only very quiet, once you notice it you can not ignore it. This is not enough to stop me using this styler though!I must note that I always use heat protection on my hair and I only style my hair roughly three times a week.

I was pleasantly surprised by this flat iron. One of the features I immediately noticed was the base where the cord is connected to the iron, it swivels! I can’t express to you how much I love this feature. The cord can become easily tangled but the swivel allows for easy handling. The plates and iron allow for an extremely smooth glide and create a very bouncy curl that shortened in length about 1 inch from my actual length. I like how the tip of the iron extends out allowing you to hold on when you’re curling your hair so you do not burn your fingertip. Although I think the flat iron works well with my hair (for reference I have average-medium coarse wavy long hair) I would probably recommend this for folks who have average to medium texture hair and mid length or shorter. I think it’s more work for someone with longer hair to utilize on a daily basis. However, if you’re a hairstylist this would be a great addition to your salon tools for everyday clients with average to coarse hair and long hair or shorter. It has some key features that stand out from their other flat irons like the swivel cord and extended base for placing your fingertips on but still very similar to the rest of GHD’s flat iron series. Any GHD tool I have ever owned has lasted me a very long time because of the impeccable quality, something I believe GHD pride themselves in when it comes to creating tools for the masses.

I tend to turn the ends under slightly so my hair sits evenly at the back (I have shoulder length hair and if I don’t get this right the ends look uneven and it spoils the style).The end result is amazing! My hair feels and looks in good condition after using these straighteners and is so soft and shiny - as if had it done at the salon. It tends to hold the style even if I’ve wore a bobble for a bit and still looks ok the next day when I’ve slept on it or been to the gym.I had a quick try at curling and again the plates glide through my hair with ease. I’m not the best at curling my hair with straighteners but it did feel easier when pulling them down through my hair than when I have tried previously.You hear the off tone indicator when you switch the straighteners off which provides that bit of reassurance. There is a sensor function built in that if it detects a period of inactivity it reduces the temperature to a safe really low heat but I’ve not experienced that yet. This seems as if it is a useful safety feature.So, all in all, I am over the moon with the design, quality and performance of the GHD Chronos. Having not upgraded my straighteners for a while I can definitely see how they have evolved over time. I have a couple of other GHD tools that I can use to straighten my hair and they all give a slightly different finish. In my opinion these are the lightest, quickest and easiest to use and give the best ‘polished’ finish.Well done GHD, another top notch product - you never fail to disappoint👏👏
