I bought this curling iron a few years ago and fell in love. Then one day, I dropped it. It survived the fall but unfortunately, it didn’t survive the second fall some time later. I was heartbroken and dreamed of the day I’d purchase it again. I recently went for it and I love it just as much as I loved it then. Beautiful curls that hold for several days, they just loosen over time. I get a ton of compliments. I love that you don’t have to try to guess what heat you need and GHD has made sure the heat is evenly distributed. The iron is ready in literally seconds. It’s lightweight and has a super long cord. As long as you take good care of it, it’ll be yours for a very long time. Definitely recommend and it’s for sure worth the price.

I bought this a few weeks ago and have only used once, but was very pleased with the results it produced. I decided on GHD for their reliability and great reputation having had a pair of their straighteners since 2007 and they are still going strong. My previous curling Tongs haven’t really lasted considering, I only use them occasionally and my favourite pair it was the wire that was the issue, but I was unable to buy replacement wiring for it. Hopefully these GHD will stand the test of time, like my first pair of straighteners.

Overall a good product. Wanted to invest in a quality product that isn't damaging for the hair. Does what it's suppose to do which is gives you long lasting curls. One thing to note that it is VERY hot, and it's not adjustable. I have normal to thin stand hair and i think the heat is way too strong for my hair type, I don't even leave the curl on the tong for the recommended time. The barrel isn't every smooth when gliding your hair through, you have to open the clamp to release the hair which is abit annoying if you have long hair. Because of the friction its harder to use in my experience compared to other curlers.. burnt myself the first time too.. you definitely need a technique whilst using this because it is way to hot and I can't leave my hair on the barrel ... MoreOverall a good product. I love all of GHD's products! I have two other of their irons and this is my newest. It does not disappoint. Each stand of hair is curled smoothly and doesn't get caught like I've had with previous curling irons. I love how it heats up to the perfect temperature each time so I don't have to mess with that. It has a super long swivel cord that let's me fix my hair without being restricted. An automatic shut off gives me piece of mind for my occasional forgetfulness. A bonus is it's sweet little sound it makes when turning on and off. This curling iron gives my fine thin hair beautiful curls every time. I'm a GHD fan for sure!
I had to wait for over half a year for these babies to come back into stock, and that was with the email alerts turned on, so be wary that if they're out of stock they may stay that way for a while (and be careful when buying from third parties as there are a lot of dangerous and sub-par knock offs about). The tong is sturdily built, sleek and well-packaged. I just have a small gripe about its gripping power - if you start at the roots and twist your hair around the barrel to the end, the end does not stay put well with the metal barrel clip - if I don't hold onto the end and wrap it round while I am curling, about three inches of hair fall out of the tong and are not heated evenly with the rest of the hair. I'm glad I've bought a heat protection glove now as it is ... MoreI had to wait for over half a year for these babies to come back into stock, and that was with the email alerts turned on, so be wary that if they're out of stock they may stay that way for a while (and be careful when buying from third parties as there are a lot of dangerous and sub-par knock offs about). I'm glad I've bought a heat protection glove now as it is nigh impossible not to burn yourself on this thing, especially when you have to hold onto the end of your hair to keep it around the tong. However, the curls it does produce look beautiful, long-lasting and quick to do.If you do buy this product, I highly recommend buying a heat protection glove and also the curl ever after spray to go with it. Be aware it also does not come with a heat protection mat, so if you do not already have one make sure you buy one. (I got the curve classic tong case with built in heat protection mat, it is excellent and very fit for purpose).Overall happy with the purchase but just be wary of these points before buying.
Ive been doing hair for over 10yrs. Ive used many different brands from Hot Tools to BaByliss to Croc. Wish I bought this 1â€ curler sooner! Like much sooner! I thought I wouldn't like the tiny little silicon tip at the top (which I would hold with my left thumb & forefinger often while curling) because I'm used to bigger size tip like the Hot Tools's design for example. To my surprise, that ins't a problem at all, plus the great advantage of how LIGHT this curling iron is & how great it feels in my hands. Overall, a great design. The weight of a curling iron is SUPER IMPORTANT to someone like me who has small hands & wrists. after years of doing hair, my hands/arms/neck are worn and can only tolerate the best kind of tools to work efficiently while creating ... MoreIve been doing hair for over 10yrs. This curling iron does it for me!
Just two complaints but otherwise love the curler. The cord almost coils up and makes it more difficult to handle the curler. And second, the top of the curler where it gives you a tip to grab while you curl that doesn’t get hot. It’s design sucks to grab with your fingers. So I have been learning to curl without always having to grab the non heated part.
When I bought this iron, I was initially worried the curls wouldn't hold, based on some of the other reviews. On my first try with my new iron, the curls completely held for two days -- on freshly washed hair with barely any hairspray! I'm so happy with it! I bought this iron to replace my Hot Tools 1.25" iron. I can't believe how much better the GHD iron is -- my thick, shoulder-length hair glides through the iron like butter! Curling with the GHD iron is much faster as well, since I only have to hold the iron for 6-7 seconds per strand. I know a lot of people choose the 1.25" "soft curl" barrel but the 1" barrel eventually produces larger, relaxed "beachy" waves too, so I think it's much more versatile and I'm so glad I chose the "classic curl." I bought these to replace my old ones as I was worried that they were old and no idea what temperature they got to.I find the new tongs work better for hold if I use as a wand, but don't like curling that way as I keep catching my fingers on the clamp. I prefer clamping the hair at the bottom and rolling it up, but it never holds this way due to the heat being more at the bottom of the curl instead of the top.Maybe my fine hair just isn't great for curling?I am disappointed as I bought the curling hairspray as well as the ghd protection spray, too.
I bought this a week ago after a thorough search. As I have gone for the cheaper options of other hair stylers, they have been disappointing so I decided to go for ghd this time. This is my first ghd and I am glad I have finally got myself one. it heats up in no time. My hair is very stubborn and thick, and it does work very well.
