Not gonna lie, this is my first Voxbox. I knew I was getting a hair straightener but since it was free I thought it wouldn’t be good as a Chi. Well , I was SO wrong! Usually when I flat iron my hair I put some serum for the heat protectant and because my hair is thick and wavy (damaged from bleach) so, I said I’m going to try this without the serum so I can do an honest review it was before work getting my daughter ready for daycare, I put my hair in pigtails and I started on one side at maximum heat after only letting it heat up about 3 minutes. I swear when I was done with the straightener I almost cried like I found my next husband like where have you been all of my life. Don’t need serum, saves me time, lasts all day unless I sweat a lot. I swear I’m selling all of my chi”s and other hair straighteners on marketplace and I will buy this brand only for ever now. Don’t think just because I got it free I’m blowing it up get one and you’ll see for yourself! It’s worth the money if we spend $100+ on a hair dryer, we can spend a little more to see our hair the way we have always pictured it but it was never as straight as it could be. This is definitely made for ALL hair types curly, wavy, extremely curly, straight gets even straighter, frizzy, thick , thin, color damaged! Get this iron you will not be disappointed it’s my off day I been in bed all day I’ll take some pictures of it in a little while after I do my hair, it’s even in the “Allure hall of fame”!!!

Amazing ghd Smart Styler!

ghd+ 1" Smart Styler with predictive technology was an exceptional experience from beginning, to the end results! I have curly, thick, coarse hair. My hair is long and is always needing to be managed - with heat preferably. The ultra-zone predictive technology was amazing considering the optimum styling temperatures 365° F. I was amazed at the tool the color limited edition, sound on bleep, and light. Also included were heat proof plate guards, so convenient! The straightening was even and worked well. Frizziness was lessened and curling was what I want and expect from a tool. My hair looked thick, shiny, healthy, and not stressed from overheating. I can do different styles, waves and curls with this one tool. Although it took two to three passes in my hair for the straightening that I need, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks with this styler.

To give the ghd Platinum + Styler a fair shot, I did my normal routine when I decide to flat iron my hair. It’s usually because I washed my hair the night before and was too tired to blow it out which happens. 😂 I used a detangling spray on my damp hair after washing and let it air dry. I slept with my air dried hair up in a loose top knot. For reference, my hair is at about a 2c, is thick stubborn and very prone to frizz. It’s also color treated all over along with balayage highlights. That mess you see is usually the state of my hair before I style it in the morning.I plugged it in and pressed the power button located in the inner portion of the flat iron. The button lit up and made a sound indicating that it is on. This styling tool seemed very ergonomically designed and felt good around my hand, causing me not to strain my wrists which suffers from carpal tunnel syndrome. It was also weighted but not heavy.Before using the ghd Platinum +, I sectioned my hair and sprayed each section with a heat protectant right before I passed it with the flat iron.My main observations during usage was that the flat iron was not incredibly hot like some previous ones I have used even in or around the temperature that the ghd platinum + remains in (365 degrees) and my hair cools down to the touch after each pass almost immediately. There was no sizzle and smoke coming out of my hair so it was incredibly gentle in heat but took only two passes to achieve the results I wanted. The hair straighteners that I’ve used in the past took higher heat and more passes to get my hair straight which I know definitely causes major damage in my already vulnerable color treated hair. It took me about 25 mins to finish my entire head of hair when I normally take about 30-40 mins with other flat irons which was a very pleasant surprise. Fantastic product. My hair is very long and thick and I’ve struggled with styling it in the past. It took well over an hour before this straightener came into my life. Now it takes about 20-30 mins which makes me very happy! My hair straightened within one stroke, hair felt soft, undamaged and frizz free. Hair stayed straight in hot weather and stayed straight when sleeping on it. Overall my hair stayed straight until I washed it and didn’t need re-straightening. Get this Flat Iron.. it’s that Good!

I have been flat ironing my hair for over 20 years… and flat irons have come a long way. Let me tell you, this is the absolute best of the best.. and absolutely worth every penny. I never thought it could be worth the price until I was at my sisters bachelorette party and another girl had this flat iron. After trying it and seeing how quickly it went through my hair without any surface tension or having to go over sections many times I was sold. I have tried HAI flat irons (requires multiple passes and does not go through the hair very smoothly) Babyliss (made my hair straight but fried my hair so badly I had to cut many inches off) Amika (not good) and more I can’t even recall. If you are thinking of buying this flat iron, go for it!! I highly recommend.. it’s worth it I promise! Good hair days are worth it!

I’m really impressed with the ghd Platinum+ Styler. I’ve always used straighteners from the drugstore, so this was my first experience using a higher end, more expensive hair tool. For reference, I have naturally wavy, somewhat frizzy hair, and I occasionally like to straighten my hair. While I did not find it easier or faster to straighten my hair with this tool, I did notice a huge difference in the end result of how my hair looked after using it. When I’ve straightened my hair with other straighteners, my hair usually ends up frizzing up and forming slight waves again after a few hours. I didn’t notice this at all with the ghd.
