This motherboard is at a good spot within the launch of the B550 chipset thanks to its looks, performance, feature set and price. I honestly wouldn't pay much more for a B550 motherboard right now, especially if you can find a similarly priced X570 (and assuming you don't mind the chipset fan on those), but that really comes down to what features you value in a motherboard.Some people might not need a pre-installed I/O shield or addressable RGB headers, but personally I like them. For example, this board doesn't come with Wifi, a boot code LED indicator, and it is full ATX size. That fits well for my needs, and I don't see much reason to go for more, but again, it is really determined by your individual situation and preferences. (when it comes to performance, most boards will get the job done, but those looking to overclock should confirm with other sources to see whats best for them. I believe this board has a solid rating in terms of its thermals and power delivery, at least according to the motherboard tier list on the LTT forum).

I bought this with a 5600x and a gskill ripjaws 3600 kit. So far, the features are working and the (sale) price was an excellent value.The bios "easy mode" gets the job done for a user who doesn't care about overclocking. The advanced options are still accessible.POOR QC: the built-in rear backplate sticks out too far from the rear of the motherboard. The backplate pushes against the back of the case and the motherboard screw holes don't align with the case screws. This can be fixed by removing the backplate completely (it is screwed into place); or the mounting bracket can be bent to make the backplate sit closer to the motherboard. minus-two-stars for the poor QC.

The Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi motherboard is a great value for those wanting to build first or budget gaming computer. I’m installing a Ryzen 5 2600x I got from a friend to start my build and I feel good knowing that this board supports Ryzen 5000 series cpus when I want to upgrade down the line. I picked this motherboard because of its versatility. I’m not entirely sure where the computer is going to go, it’s currently next to my tv as I was a console gamer and I am now using this computer as a replacement. With all my being i want to give this all of the stars. I do have to get the bad news out of the way first however. For whatever reason that i couldnt figure out, navigation in the BIOS has all but stopped working. My mouse and keyboard input hang for what seems like days at a time. Even after updating the BIOS, it fixed nothing. So stars--. Other than that, im a fan of this ASUS AORUS board. Lots of great features, and along with my CPU and SSD HD, its faster than I can say PCI 3.0 x8. One of these days ill be able to afford a newer GPU. Im no millionaire. But im excited to see how well it will perform with one, should GPU prices cost less than a trip to the moon. But I would not suggest putting an APU on this board, especially if you plan on overclocking it, until Gigabyte either revises the board or fixes the voltage control issues with a BIOS update. My 2400G APU pulls over 120W on stock motherboard settings during Cinebench and Blender testing, immediately causing the CPU to throttle even with aftermarket cooling. With a 150W 80+ PSU, adjusting the GPU clocks at all would cause over-voltage protection to trip on the PSU, causing an immediate shutdown. This is unacceptable and is probably the poorest stock voltage regulation I've seen across multiple AM4 mITX boards from ASrock, Asus and Gigabyte. VRM cooling is also rather poor. Doing GPU only overclocking, I had to limit myself to 1.2V SOC voltage to keep VRM temps below 100C during extended load. Certainly part of this is due to my case being very small, but I ensured that the VRMs had plenty of intake and exhaust airflow to prevent recirculation. This heat and voltage limitation meant that instead of getting 1650MHz on my GPU (tested on a different board to be stable at 1.25V), I had to come all the way down to 1500MHz @ 1.175 for long-term stability. That's a lot of performance left on the table because of insufficient surface area for VRM cooling. The last annoyance is more of a pet-peeve, but still worth mentioning. When the GPU is being used, the SOC VRMs create a buzzing noise that changes frequency based on framerate, and volume depending on SOC voltage. It's definitely audible outside of the case with the cover on. The noise is evident everywhere the GPU is used, from the Windows 10 start menu (audible click on every single scroll) to synthetic and gaming benchmarks (Fire Strike combined test produces a slow, loud clicking noise @ 6 FPS, Crysis benchmark produces a constant grinding noise @ 60+ FPS).

My mobo was likely produced at the end of 2019 (the serial numbers starts with 2019) and it came with the latest firmware installed (F50) which supports Ryzen natively (similar to the MAX series in MSI boards). The telltale is that in the box there is a logo that says "Ryzen 3000 Desktop Ready". Now call me jaded, but the word "ready" is a loaded word, as different manufacturers may use it to represent different things (remember 720i HD "ready" TVs?) In any case, I found out ahead of time (my CPU was still traversing the country) by opening a ticket with Gigabyte eSupport and got my answer within 48 hours and it was a clear and concrete answer - kudos for that! Overall, this is a phenomenal motherboard at less than one and a half Benjamin Franklins. It has a couple minor areas of improvement which due to the aging nature of the platform will likely never be addressed, but they are not even inconveniences. Considering the fairly similar feature-set to B550s or even low end X570s, nothing so far that would warrant lowering the rating. However, keep in mind it's been about a week since I powered it up and I haven't yet done stress testing of any kind. If I find issues, I will update this review. At the moment is running a Crucial M2 1TB and a Radeon 5700XT with nary a complaint. Fits neatly and tightly in a Fractal Design Meshify C case. The Aorus Falcon branding is superb - brings a smile to my face every time I look at it. Aggressive yet tasty at the same time. The best motherboard I've ever had.
So I have not even got this motherboard working. I have a Ryzen 5600G processor, 32 gb of regulars 3200 g-skill ram, a msi 3070 ti and a MSI nvme drive. All of which is moot, because I can't update the bios to F13 which includes the 5600G CPUs. I can't do a regular qflash in the bios because I can't load the bios, I can't use qflash plus because it seems to fail every time. I got this motherboard in a shuffle and I waited till I could afford a GPU and CPU and ram,. Around Christmas it finally happened. But now the motherboard is basically dead to me. I have been told I need an older CPU to boot with so I can use the regular bios flash tools so my CPU will work. I don't have the money or access to old Ryzen CPUs, I'm just frustrated,.
