A well-rounded midrange X570 board

This board does what it needs to do at a fair price. It has front panel USB-C support, which is better than a rear panel USB-C. Only two fan headers is an odd design choice for a gaming board, but workarounds exist if you need more. Having used the Asus BIOS for the last 20 years, I was a little leery of the Gigabyte BIOS, but like the rest of the board, it gets the job done competently. Technically, I should probably give it four stars because it does have some compromises and it isn't cheap, but I really don't have much to complain about for my use case. I paired it with a 5700G with the hope that the graphics card nightmare will ease by mid-2022. Got this bundled with my GPU, but in all honesty has been great despite me not necessarily actively choosing it. Paired this with a Ryzen 5 5600X. The BIOS is really simple and easy to use, no problems enabling the XMP file to get the full speed out of my memory. Went for a minimal RGB build, so this board worked great for that. The only con, but also a pro, was the Q-Flash. I performed it as instructed, but couldn't get it to POST the first time. Read on a separate forum of some users having problems if the file name was not in all caps (GIGABYTE.BIN). I tried flashing the BIOS once more with that simple change, and everything worked great after that. TL;DR- Great basic X570, minimal RGB, Q-Flash works but must use all caps for file name.

Good board, couple of minor layout issues, horrible apps.

Technically this motherboard is fantastic, especially considering it's price relative to other x570 boards. The VRM is extremely good and in my system runs very cool. It's more than adequate for any zen 2 chip right up to the 3950x. The feature set is very good for an entry level board and the only thing I felt was missing is some kind of boot error code indication. There isn't even a basic LED indicator, so if you have any boot troubles they will be hard to diagnose.I was a bit worried about noise from the chipset fan as those tiny fans tend to have an annoying tone, but I've never even seen it switch on. I assume it's only needed when using gen 4 m.2 drives. This may cause issues with fans or radiators mounted to the floor of the case, given that most cases use huge moulded plugs for these headers. I had to get creative with some jumper leads to connect my front panel USB. These are pretty minor and subjective problems and don't stop me from fully recommending the board. One thing I absolutely don't recommend is gigabyte's windows apps. They are a buggy, poorly coded horror show and look like something from an early 2000s webpage nightmare. RGB fusion in particular is laughably bad. It seems to work properly about 50% of the time and even then has very few options and features compared to the competition. If you want to run fancy RGB with this board, budget for an LED controller.Overall I'm extremely happy with the board but gigabyte need to hire a new software development team.

Good board...somewhat marred only by ease of access

Would I recommend it? - Yes Is it reasonably for the price? - Yes Is it aesthetically pleasing? - Yes OK, so why isn't is a perfect 5/5? Well, there are two things that absolutely do a disservice to the overall package. There's another oddity that needs mentioning, but was otherwise easy to overlook. Part one was basic BIOS access...because it flashes so fast as to be a bad joke. Please, give us some more time...and maybe even an option to change the timing within the BIOS. Couldn't find that one. Part two was the construction. Don't get me wrong, most of it is great. My frustration is the tiny fan installed onto the X570 Chipset itself. It's not capable of moving much air, and it's exposed in such a way as to be easily damaged. It's not capable of moving much air, and it's exposed in such a way as to be easily damaged. Neither gives me faith that this thing is much more than a cosmetic. Finally, the frustration. One of the two M.2 slots has a cover. Great. It's labelled as a heat dissipation device, and it's only goal seems to be aesthetically hiding the drives (that are often just a PCB and thus not aesthetically pleasing). What's frustrating then? Well, 1/2 seems like a half measure. It'd be nice to have something...but if you're getting a decently large GPU the area will likely be covered. It's thus not a negative...but it is weird if the goal is to actually increase performance by dissipating heat. None of the negative above should prevent you from purchasing this board. It's great, with a 5600x it runs 64 GB of RAM at 3200 16-18-18-28 without issue, and it's less finicky than all of the previous Ryzen generation setups I've dealt with. That alone should make it good...and 4/5 is not worth dismissing. Everything makes compromises between features, design, and cost. This board does it very well.

My second GIGABYTE board that works great amid others having issues

After all the research of different boards for 3rd gen Ryzen, I narrowed it down to this board, Crosshair VIII Hero, MSI ACE, and ASRock TAICHI. Since I have the Ryzen 7 3800x and not the Ryzen 9 3900x , I felt the other boards were a little overkill for what I needed. Once I got all my components to put together the PC, I looked up that it BEST the do the BIOS flash with a thumb drive and with the CPU and RAM removed, so i followed the instructions and the new BIOS installed successfully. I was a bit nervous because the light didn't come on the first try and this is my first time doing it, but after repeating the same sequence a couple time, it DID work. I then installed CPU, AMD Prism, RAM, and GPU, Loaded into BIOS and setup RAM timing, RAM voltage, Infinity Fabric, mildly aggressive fan curves and kept CPU timings to AUTO, but made sure AMD Precision Boost was disabled. IF YOU HAVE TWO RAM STICK, YOU HAVE TO USE SLOTS A2 AND B2 OR YOU WILL NEVER GET OVER 2133MHz. Booted Windows 10 Pro with UEFI Thumb drive, and sucessfully installed and booted properly. At the time I had EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SCC. I installed drivers and performed WIN10 updates, installed the mass amount of applications and that's about it. Coming from a FX-8350 on a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Rev-4 (Still going strong on 4.24GHz OC), this was a huge difference. While gaming on AAA titles or stress tests, every core at some point goes to just under 4.5GHz (AVG 4.1GHz) @ just under 1.5v (avg 1.3v) with it set to "AUTO" which seems to me a high voltage, but no heat related issues or crashes. VRM runs cool and other than the CPU (73 max), the max temp across the board is in the 50's, but mostly in the 30's or less. Even after upgrading to a Sapphire 5700XT Special Edition last week ( didn't have driver issues with that either other than 2 games) which really woke up the CPU, but didn't drastically change board temps. I was considering getting an AIO and tinker with timings to get a stable overclock, but kinda like the AUTO feature where it's not running higher clocks 24/7, which in theory should prolong chip life, but probably gonna get the AORUS ACT800 to lower max temps and enable precision boost because I have great airflow in my Fractal Designs Define S2 and also waiting for THERMOSIPHON from ICEGIANT for the best cooling. Enjoying the Audio card playing 24-bit audio to my stereo using optical. I didn't really buy this board for the RGB, but I must say that it could be better. The lights themselves are bright and accurately display colors; however, the one behind the MOSFET heatsink is too far back and doesn't really shine like it could (looks to be mounted on board...not a deal breaker) and the 2 lower strips are covered by a thick diffused plastic, that completely kills the brightness and color accuracy, because you can see it's true potential leaking from behind the board. It's sad that the AORUS RGB software works better on my Trident Z RAM better than Trident's own software, but I'm glad I can sync it with MB and soon to be GPU when I receive my 3-pin ARGB cable. I'm hoping that they can figure out the RAM brightness before Trident does because all I want is a lower brightness on the static color preset. If your like me and want to gamble with good components that may have issues, but turns out to work fine, and makes a great, future-proof, $200 board for your setup, this is the one for you. Worst case scenario, you have to return it or contact the manufacture for the warranty.

Only Problems
14 March 2022

I only have problems since seating everything in. RAM not detected in A1 and A2 slots after bios update. Had to update the bios 3 times with 3 different versions to get one to post. Once post was done, got the RAM issues. After trying to reseat everything, system wouldn't even display anything. Only working thing is Q Flash and even after that it's still not displaying anything. Not even the options for bios, QFlash or boot At this time, I'm trying to reset the cmos but have little hope that it will work since I couldn't resolve all the other issues. If that doesnt help resolving the issues, I'm gonna refund it. If you are reading this, don't buy that mobo. Save up for a better one.

Reasonably good product

It has been over 10 years since I last built a computer, and for a long time, I did not know that I would ever do it again. However, the need for improved video processing capability to work on editing music video recordings that I have been doing was enough for me to take the plunge and build a new desktop machine. Once again, I returned to Newegg to find the components that I would be using to assemble a machine that would do what I would needed. One of the things that has changed in this time interval since my last build has been changing from SATA hard drives to SSD, at least for the main drive. This motherboard gives you two M.2 slots, yet I only found one standoff and holding screw in the provided hardware. This was not a problem for me, since I am only installing one SSD right now. But if and when I want to get a second one, I will have to order the parts. Another thing I see mentioned here in the reviews that I did not realize how much it would matter this time around was the small number of fan and LED headers on the board. Here it was a problem because now I had to order additional cable splitters, one for the addressable and one for the non-addressable connectors. Fortunately, this is not expensive, but it is an extra step you might need to do with this board if you are going to have extra fans in the case and/or use the RGB lighting capabilities that the fans might provide. I am appreciative that some people have mentioned (warned) that it can happen that Windows will not load sometimes. It has only happened to me a couple times since I built this a few weeks ago, but it can be disconcerting when it does. Fortunately, for me, it has only happened a couple times, and not in the last several days. Still… Otherwise, things seem to work well with this board. I got the Wifi version, but realize I will probably not need to use Wifi often with it, since I already have a wired LAN connection available. With the Cooler Master 212 RGB Black CPU cooler mounted on the Ryzen 3800X CPU, I can only use the two memory slots on the away (2,4) side of the slots. I seem to have enough memory with 16 GB (8 x 2), but if I ever wanted more, it looks like I would have to start over with two 16 GB sticks, since I do not think I could use all four slots and simply add 2 more 8GB memory sticks. I do like the board overall however, because it does what I need, and the PC is much faster than my aging Surface Pro laptop, especially doing video rendering. I feel that 4 eggs is about right for the overall rating for this board.

Repeat purchases because it’s just that good

I’ve built numerous computers and this card always consistently offers the best performance for the price when compared to other wifi motherboards in this segment. I can’t stop buying it because it’s around $50 less than the other competitors. Highly highly recommend this card to anyone looking for a good AMD motherboard with WiFi built in. It has all the features you would want from a medium to medium high end build. I also like the gigabyte aesthetic too. It doesn’t have overwhelming RGB. Just a tasteful light bar that matches the triangle edgey aesthetic. Bonus points if you can pair it with a Nvidia or AMD Gaming series GPU if you are into matching the aesthetic

This review is both for Gigabyte, the manufacturer of the motherboard, and Newegg as the shipping company. Recently, I had to replace several parts in a computer I built back in 2014. The Aorus X570 Elite fit most of the specifications I was looking for, so I decided to go with this model. The motherboard appeared to function normally, I was able to do everything I had done previously. However, when I needed to adjust a setting in my BIOS in order to allow for Oracle's VirtualBox to run on my device, all I was able to pull up with the DEL key was a black screen. I tried everything, from checking various other keys during startup to get to the BIOS, to downloading Gigabyte's App Center to install the latest BIOS version, to Q-Flashing the motherboard (this appeared to do nothing). Eventually I decided to return it as a defective model and order a replacement, notating the issue in the comments of the replacement, and requesting a X570 with the latest BIOS, as well as verification that the BIOS could be accessed correctly with the DEL key. I even called Newegg Customer Service in order to have them notate what I believed was needed for the replacement. They ended up trying to contact me a day later at a completely different time than I had specified, I was unable to answer due to being in an appointment. The new motherboard arrived, and after installing it and booting it up everything appeared fine. When I went into the BIOS, I got the same issue; and when I checked the BIOS version in System Information, I was using the exact same version that had originally been the issue. I also discovered I would be unable to reinstall my OS with this current motherboard for some apparent reason. Currently my device is being looked at by a local computer company in the hopes that I am able to resolve this issue without having to look for and purchase another motherboard I would then need to install again. The only reason I am leaving 2 stars is because the motherboard worked fine as long as you didn't need to do anything with the BIOS. Perhaps in a different system and setup it will work better for someone else, but I would strongly recommend purchasing a different motherboard.

Very Pleased With the Purchase

I used the Aorus Elite Wifi Motherboard for my first time computer build and paired it with the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X. I wanted to be able to use the PCIe 4.0 for a M.2 slot and my GPU and operate cordless via WiFi if need-be. Its been up and running for about a week now and I am very pleased with the outcome.A couple of minor issues I ran into: (1) I tried to test the motherboard before placing it in the case (RAM and GPU inserted and hooked up to a Power source and the monitor) but could not get a signal to the monitor. I decided to finish the build and then tried the power button on the case and thankfully it worked. There haven't been any issues turning the computer on or off since. Not sure if this is due to my lack of experience building. Not sure if this is due to my lack of experience building. (2) The other issue was with the ports at the bottom. I decided to add fans to the bottom of my case and this meant that some of the cords had to be awkwardly angled in order to fit (the USB connector slot). But they work just fine and its actually not noticeable on the finished build. This is prolly due to the case I have, so double check spacing if you also want to have some fans near the bottom edge of the motherboard. (3) The RGB lighting controls for the fans is "good enough." At times the RAM doesn't light up correctly or at all. The RGB is probably the biggest issue out of the three for me but not so bad that I would remove a star.Other things to note: I am using a Power Hub to connect/power the fans so that I am not overloading the few fan ports that come with the motherboard. I haven't tried to overclock, outside of changing the XMP settings, and have had no issues with BIOS. I currently only use the top M.2 slot so it isn't a problem for me, but the GPU does slightly cover the lower M.2 slot. I am not sure if it is actually a hindrance though. The issues were pretty minor and I am definitely pleased with the way things have turned out so far.
