The 4070 is a lot like the 2070 I upgraded from. Compared to its contemporaries its the definition of "budget" performance and is certainly able to hold its own on current AAA games at 1080p (max settings) or 1440p (setting adjustments required).Pairs well with my I7-9700K and will be in my machine until games outgrow it.Pros:- Whisper Quiet, borderline inaudible. The fans don't kick on unless the GPU deems it necessary so most of the time you won't even know it's there.- Excellent performance boost (for me, your mileage may vary)- A good starting option for newcomers. This has been true for every -70 model GPU since the 1070.- Low power profile. Unless I'm crazy, my old 2070 super founder's edition seemed to siphon power like mad, and this one seems to ... MoreThe 4070 is a lot like the 2070 I upgraded from. Be sure to check the dimensions of your case before purchasing. In my specific case, It clears my ATX motherboard by about half an inch and almost touches my other power cables. (Case is Corsair 110R for those looking for specifics)- Price. You can get similar cards for cheaper but if you want to stay "current" without spending $800 or more this is the closest you'll getSummary: All in all the 4070, especially this one, is a good buy if you don't have any other option. Do not use this card for 4K gaming. This is not what it's for. Overall I'm happy with my purchase.8/10

Stays cool and looks good. This a great upgrade for anyone upgrading from a 3070 or lower tier card and games at 1440p.Positives:-Pricing debate aside - It performs like a 3080 but with significantly less power consumption and better cooling.-The 8 pin connector-Stays very cool and quiet-Didn't have to upgrade PSUCons-Could be cheaper but offset some cost selling previous GPU.-Sure AMD has a few better performing cards in this class but way higher TDP with random power spikes along stability and driver issues.

Cons:There is a big performance difference between this and the 4070 Ti. Even with overclocking, this card falls well short of it's bigger brother.599 is too much for this card, but I saved $60 using a discount code I found online so it made the price of a little more reasonable. I would suggest you also look for a discount before purchasing.Pros:It is very quiet, sips power and gives you access to DLSS 3.I also like the simple look and small size of this card.It uses a standard 8 pin connector.

After using this card for about a week, must say I do like it.Runs 1440p nice and smooth, relatively low temps (hovers around 60 at load), does not draw much power, around 140w - 180w most of time when gaming. The fans only kick in sometimes, possibly due to boredom, but hardly any noise.I now get 165hz at 1440p with low power and no noise, excellent stuff. Also has the potential of DLS3, which have not tried yet as it isn't required, oh and ray tracing too.Only 1 x 8 PIN connector required = Good stuff.Windforce OC version is slightly faster than reference version, a little plus.Only downside is the asking price.
Great card given its price. Spent a couple hundred more than this card on a 2080 three years ago. Yet this card is almost twice as fast with ray-tracing enabled as my old card was without using ray-tracing. Several YTubers trashed this card for its value, but it’s really not that bad considering it’s capability. This particular card is slightly up-clocked compared to the founder’s edition, with better cooling at the same price. On my budget, it is a good upgrade. No RGB, but I prefer it that way.
HiI bought this card just after it's release, to upgrade my son's rig from a Gigabyte windforce 3x oc rtx 2070 super for 1440p gaming. It's not a power hungry card and runs Very Quite.Temps stay high 50's to mid 60's C.It has almost doubled what the 2070 was doing.Forza5 on the 2070s would struggle at times and with the 4070 there are No struggles now.Without DLss3 it can handle everything we have thrown at it.With DLSS3 Forza runs 130fps to nearly capping out a 165hz Viewsonic monitor. For $100 over what I paid for the 2070s and got almost double the performance WE are Very Happy!!!!His build:Amd R5 5600xCorsair H150i Elite CapellixMsi b450 Pro Carbon ac32gb 2x16 G.skill trident z 3600 cl16 16 16 36Samsung 500gb 970 evo plus m.2Samsung ... MoreHiI bought this card just after it's release, to upgrade my son's rig from a Gigabyte windforce 3x oc rtx 2070 super for 1440p gaming. For $100 over what I paid for the 2070s and got almost double the performance WE are Very Happy!!!!His build:Amd R5 5600xCorsair H150i Elite CapellixMsi b450 Pro Carbon ac32gb 2x16 G.skill trident z 3600 cl16 16 16 36Samsung 500gb 970 evo plus m.2Samsung 1tb 870 evo 2.5 sataSeagate 3tb baracuda spinnerEvga Bq 850w psuThermatake F31 Suppressor case.Viewsonic 27" 1440p 165hz monitor
Honestly I didn't know what to expect. Although some individuals are dissatisfied with the minor improvement from the 30 series, this graphics card appears to surpass my 10GB RTX3080 and requires only an 8 pin power connector, unlike my 3080 which needs a 24 pin connector. The decreased power consumption coupled with a slight increase in performance appears to be an upgrade to me.
Perfect upgrade for my cpu. Switched out my 6600 xt for this, and I didn’t even have to change any wiring or my psu. People say it’s not for running games at 4k, but I disagree. Running Fortnite at 200 fps at 4k. And Fallout 4 is running at 60 fps, but that’s because my monitor is capping out the frame rate.
This Gigabyte WindForce OC 4070 is a great choice especially at the launch price as it has zero coil whine, stays cool and gives well over 120fps on ultra settings in my games at 1440p. Gets up to 180fps on ACC on epic if your interested. As fast or faster that the founders edition according to reviews and has a metal backing plate. Hope you can get yours at MSRP or lower as they seem to have increased the price here.
Bought this card after a 7900XT I purchased had a lot of driver crashes and coil whine. This card is dead silent and maintains excellent temperatures and as expected NVIDIA's drivers are very stable and I haven't had one crash.I upgraded from an RTX 2070 and now I can run all of my preferred games and newer games at 1440p 100+ fps and with access to DLSS I expect to get a few years out of this GPU.
