This card is arguably the best bang-for-buck when looking to push 60+/high frames in modern and AAA games. For context, I would advise playing at 1440p 144hz, as it's a great mid point between low-quality 1080p and 4K which is hard to run at 60+).This variant is triple-fan, which is great for cooling. I haven't seen it break 70c on full loads and the fans are very quiet. Another great feature is that the fans don't run when the card is idle.Over-clocking is good (I use EVGA Precision) - and have been fine getting it to boost to 1900/1950Mhz.Design-wise, it's not the best out of all the custom brands but it looks nice, has a great finish. Shame that this Windforce doesnt have the RGB option for the 'GIGABYTE' logo on the side. I purchased this card to upgrade from a zotac gaming gtx 1650 super, and oh my it was a massive upgrade.I am currently using an Amd ryzen 5 3600 overclocked and It was clear as day how much better this card performs! I read reviews saying that this card has a very loud coil whine? I haven’t experienced any of that so far after about 3-4 weeks usage. I will update this if I do experience anything! But overall it is a great card and it crushed every game I threw at it! Highly recommend for anyone upgrading from a lower end card! But if you already have a 2060 super or something along those lines then definitely not worth the upgrade. The card is massive BTW so make sure it fits in your case. Mine had a lot of sag but I bought a bracket online and it was prrgect! ... MoreI purchased this card to upgrade from a zotac gaming gtx 1650 super, and oh my it was a massive upgrade.I am currently using an Amd ryzen 5 3600 overclocked and It was clear as day how much better this card performs! I finally took the RTX plunge with this card and am happy I did. Understand though you won't hit 4k60 or in many cases even 2k60 with this card with appreciable RTX settings turned on. However, if you know this and pair with an adequate Freesync 2 or G-sync monitor you will be very impressed / satisfied as I have been. I use this with an AOC Agon Freesync 2 monitor and the results are fantastic. In Control with medium RTX settings at 2k (no DLSS) all other settings high I have a very smooth play experience with the monitor smoothing out low framerates (mid 30's) and the card often hovering between 40-75 fps - all presented smooth and tear-free. Buy with confidence. I toil for hours / days researching before making a decision on a GPU and know I will never get that ... MoreI finally took the RTX plunge with this card and am happy I did. I'm very happy with this GPU. I usually play Apex legends with this GPU, but also Tarkov, Fall Guys, and some video work. At ~98% GPU utilization it stays under 70 degrees celcius. When i'm idle temps stay around 40 degrees.I have this overclocked by 800 MHz and there's no problem. Around 1,000 MHz I started to see distortions in benchmarking, but at +800 everything seems stable. You need to know that there is no available water block for this GPU. I've checked the major water block companies to even check on a custom-fit block and it isn't feasible. It's not a major deal, but if you have ambitions to water cool your system you should consider another graphics card.
This card was a problem since the second I pulled it out of the box. Immediately I notice the bracket\IO was bent, While I was easily able to bend it back in place, this is unacceptable. Next during installation it just FEELS cheap and fragile. Once everything was installed I booted the computer, and there's a horrible air dryer sound, taking out my flashlight to take a look, the center fan is running, the other two were not, and it is constantly changing speed. Thinking this may be a driver issue, I did a Display driver uninstaller, started from scratch. after installing the newest drivers this issue did not go away, so I tried downloading the software provided by GIGABYTE and the computer refused to work from there on until going into safe mode and uninstalling ... MoreThis card was a problem since the second I pulled it out of the box. So once I got everything back installed and working again, the GPU is working, for now, but the sound is unbearable. I spent far too much money making sure I had a quiet computer to have this garbage making this much noise!
On performance alone, this is a great graphics card. I'm able to run all games on ultra without issue and I don't think I've seen any framerate lag whatsoever. I've haven't tried to ramp up the performance with any overclocking mainly because I don't see the need to yet. It just works. On the downside, this is an expensive piece of kit and in hindsight may be overkill for now, but maybe it will pay for itself in the long haul. Another issue for me is the lack of any RGB. I have a transparent case and I would have expected at a minimum for the logo to be lit (it looks like it should light up). It doesn't and I spent quite a bit of time researching because I thought I'd done something wrong. It's not a big deal, but given the money spent, it would have been nice to ... MoreOn performance alone, this is a great graphics card. It's not a big deal, but given the money spent, it would have been nice to have the option as the card looks quite bland in my case now. I'm also not sure whether I have the latest drivers, and the update fails with an Windows 10 incompatibility warning. Again, given the price, I should not expect this kind of issue, it should really just work. I'm still hunting for a solution on this. I don't know whether I would buy this again given the price. Don't get me wrong, it's a great card out of the box, but it just may be one that I don't need right now and it's annoying that I can't get the driver updates working.
I just finished building a brand new Ryzen based computer. It took about a hour to finish the computer. I didn't know what to expect with the new components of this build. I knew it would be faster than my old system which consisted of an AMD FX6300 and Gigabyte 1050 GPU. After some game testing with Quake Champions to get the mouse and video configured I noticed the Gigabyte LED wasn't glowing. Looking closer the fans weren't moving! I semi panicked! Oh great my brand new video card is fried!! I had HWMonitor running to check temps and to my utter shock and disbelief after about 45 minutes of game play with the game video maxed to ultra the GPU temperature was 136F! I do believe I've hit the GPU lotto. If I did or didn't I'm impressed with the quality of the video ... MoreI just finished building a brand new Ryzen based computer. This card is excellent, if you can get it at a discount. The 2070s has amazing performance and the card itself seems super stable. Big pro: it's very happy to overclock. No issues even running at 250-300 mhz over base clock for long periods. Memory has lots of headroom as well. The thermal management of this card is also excellent. Stock fan settings running at max in a tight space it didn't get above 73c. My one big issue is the fan sound and stock fan settings. The fans stay off until about 50 or 55c, then repeatedly start to spin up every few seconds, making awful noises until 60c. Very annoying of working at light load when it stays in the 50s. Good news is that you can just change the fan curve. I have mine set to run at 30% (any lower and it's kinda noisy) ... MoreThis card is excellent, if you can get it at a discount. wasn't going to write a review since its been working like a champ but decided to stop being lazy and write one. i bought this to replace a amd 5700xt I originally bought on release. i already had a freesync display and was really excited after amd released navi. 5700xt looked like an ideal upgrade over my old vega 56. but sadly the driver state for navi was nothing but a nightmare for me. worse than vega. loads of crashes, black screens, and dumb stuff like green screens. after multiple ddu's, fresh windows installs, and 4 different drivers (two of which was a fix for one game that broke from the previous driver to the new driver to fix that break, broke another game which needed another driver to fix) i gave up and bought this to replace it. and all i can say i've ... Morewasn't going to write a review since its been working like a champ but decided to stop being lazy and write one. i bought this to replace a amd 5700xt I originally bought on release. i already had a freesync display and was really excited after amd released navi. 5700xt looked like an ideal upgrade over my old vega 56. but sadly the driver state for navi was nothing but a nightmare for me. worse than vega. loads of crashes, black screens, and dumb stuff like green screens. after multiple ddu's, fresh windows installs, and 4 different drivers (two of which was a fix for one game that broke from the previous driver to the new driver to fix that break, broke another game which needed another driver to fix) i gave up and bought this to replace it. and all i can say i've been extremely happy. not only with the quality of the windforce cooler and effort gigabyte put into it, but also nvidia's freesync support. i'm using a dell S2719DGF, which isn't certified by nvidia, but freesync works on it equally as well when i had my vega 56. i'm so glad nvidia adopted async / freesync support in their drivers. in terms of this particular gigabyte model, i was debating this and evga xc gaming along with nvidia's FE itself. I opted for this because compared to the XC gaming (not ultra), the windforce cooler is far superior. more surface area, more airflow, and I preferred gigabyte's solution to VRM cooling. evga uses a baseplate to cool the vrm which isn't connected to its heatsink. while gigabyte uses a heatplate which is connected / soldered together. compared to the FE, the FE does have a weaker cooler, but its also cheaper but I opted to spend a little extra for a better cooling solution. edit: want to add, that this version has usb-c port. the model that appears gigabyte is using to replace this one, lacks the usb-c port.
So I'm going on a few months on owning this card and while I would of liked to of waited a bit longer until prices came down a little bit I could not be happier with the performance this thing has given me. I'm running an AMD ryzen 2600 and 16gb of memory and this thing just chews up anything at 1440P (2k) at 144HZ. I game and stream on the same system and use SLOBS and have not had issues with my rig (internet is another story). I was running a 580 8GB OC and upgraded to 1440P 144HZ and I could game at that, but not stream and game at that. I can run two monitors (second at 60HZ 1080) but then it does goofy things with the refresh rate so I just use mouse without borders and a second old computer to monitor stream and run the interface and it is smooth as butter. ... MoreSo I'm going on a few months on owning this card and while I would of liked to of waited a bit longer until prices came down a little bit I could not be happier with the performance this thing has given me. RTX voice in of itself is something that should be sold as a package alone and it be worth a decent price. Having to work from home right now and drown ut all the other noises in the house to conference calls (and my streaming channel) is wild for free software. I forgot I didn't mute my audio when watching movies online with my friends and was eating popcorn inches away from my microphone and they didn't hear a freaking thing. It is unreal. seriously go watch some videos online it is not made up although it looks like it is. I knocked off an egg because of the coil whine and the driver/software integrations are a nightmare and not integrated into one solution or one platform to locate. Some of them you have to hunt for and some I only discovered by accident. Seriously though RTX Voice is a GODSEND for conference calls and streaming!!!
