4080 RTX Gaming OC is a beast of a card. Make sure you check it's measurements before purchasing, also factor in the power adapter you may need to use as well which sticks out of the side.Because the cooler is 4090 spec it's huge and runs rather quiet. The fans won't kick on in low demand games at all.Hasn't flinched at any of the games I have tried yet at 1440p.Overall it feels solidly built but most of the shroud is plastic, so I wouldn't say it felt/looks premium. I think you have to go up to the Aurous line to get that with Gigabyte. It has a LED Gigabyte logo and LED fans that you can change the colour of if you use the Gigabyte software.

I have had this card for about 3 weeks now and I find it is a great card. Can not comment too much on the build quality, but feel the build quality of the card is solid with a metal plate on the back rather than a plastic plate seen in the entry modal.1) Runs very cool. The card generally runs at the 60s on a full load ( 100%). I undervolted the card slightly, and now the card runs at the higher 50s. It is truly amazing.2) Dose needs an 850W power supply. The card can draw up to 98% of my 850w on a high load, so 750w is probably not adequate.3) You have a 4-year warranty if you can register the card with Gigabyte.Otherwise feel the card is adequate to play flight sims in VR but you still have settings to fiddle around.

Make sure you measure before buying this. It’s huge. You need a medium sized tower at the minimum. The support bracket didn’t work with the tower, but i had a support bracket already. This offered a 41% increase in gpu power and Fps compared to the 3080ti i had. It runs extremely cool. max i’ve gotten get 60*C. An $899 3080ti * ~40% increase in performance, this should be no >$1260. Also the DLSS 3.0 tech is interesting. You can definitely notice a difference in quality and frames, but the latency is increased

I was torn between this card and a Radeon RX 7900 XTX when I went to purchase my new build. Micro center had the Powercolor Red Devil cards on the shelf for 1099. I opted to go for a 4080 due to the fact I game on Linux every day and I play a lot of vr games on a Valve Index and reviews for these use cases are mixed on AMD hardware. I paired this card with a Core I7- 13700k -- 32gb Corsair Dominator Platinum 6200mhz DDR5 ram -- Asus Tuf Z790 plus WIfi motherboard -- Corsair RM1000x Power Supply, The chassis is a Thermaltake view 51 case.Performance is amazing, coming from a 1070TI/ Ryzen7 5800x system the performance uplift was almost unbelievable. One of my favorite VR games is Lone Echo2 and in that game I can now crank the detail and resolution to max and its smoooth, Project cars in VR is another title I can crank to max and play butter smooth, I used to struggle to play on low settings with my last card. Atomic heart plays at 4k/60 with no issues and 1440p/120 also with no issue with DLSS and frame generation all turned off. Portal 2 RTX is amazing, though needs DLSS to acheive a smooth frame-rate, about 45fps without it at 1440p.Highly recommended, all GPUs are expensive now, but this card is a monster and worth the price if you need very high performance from a graphics card.
Im coming fro EVGA 3080 ti ftw3. One of the best gpu i ever had. Very well built, powerful and silent. My first impressions of Gigabyte Gaming OC is that could be better. It could have a better built quality, a better software and a better bracket to hold the GPU. For the price i was just hoping for a better overall product. In regards to performance, it is powerful and silent. Runned some tests and im very pleased with it's performance. The bracket for holding it is a joke. Didnt fit on my asus strix but luckily i had one from my 3080.
My last two gpus were from AMD. Most recently coming from a PowerColor rx 6800 xt Red Dragon. After deciding to pay the premium and try out team green, I can honestly tell you that I am sold on Nvidia products for their quality. The mere fact that Nvidia cards are more supported by game developers and that their features are available across more games alone is enough to warrant the high price. But when you couple that with the fact that the hardware itself is just vastly superior, there is no question in my mind that you get what you pay for. Even the drivers are better. Best graphics card I have owned and I think the price is justified
Amazing card. Faster than the 3090ti by a large margin and it looks amazing. Has a lower power draw then the 3080 and Has the best gpu support in my opinion as it mounts to the board and hold the far back side of the gpu with multiple screws. Also it’s 13.5 inch long and 6.2 inch wide by 4 inch thick . 2 slot card , it’s a bit pricey but if you want it buy it. I love it.For those who don’t understand the fan light issue. Gigabyte has done somthing different on this card, and I like it , When it is under a stress load such as gaming or running benchmarks the fans will begin to light up . When the card is under normal temps it won’t display light until a certain temp hits and then the rgb gets turned on.5/5 especially since I walked in and grabbed one.
After days and days of refreshing BB frantically, I managed to purchase an “Open Box-Excellent” condition 4080 for $1015.99. While I had hoped to get an open box 4090, I was already way over my budget so settled here. BB shipped it out to me fairly quickly and it only took a couple of days to arrive which was great. Upon receiving the card the box was partially torn and the card was not in mint or “excellent” condition whatsoever. Previous owner had installed it and didn’t do a great job of taking care of it. Nothing too bad though, just some dust and a few scuffs that came right out.As for the card, this thing is a real beast. I decided to upgrade from an RTX 3080 12GB because I wanted the extra VRAM for some 3D rendering. So far I have only used it for gaming ... I decided to upgrade from an RTX 3080 12GB because I wanted the extra VRAM for some 3D rendering. So far I have only used it for gaming and in most cases I am getting at least DOUBLE the performance I was getting out of the 3080. Maxing all settings out and getting all the FPS I could possibly desire. While on the 3080 I was mostly playing at 1440 which is my monitors native resolution, I find I am now able to play any game in 4K with DLDSR and still get very high frames. Most people will tell you to just wait if you’re sitting on a 3080 but I am very glad to have gone with the 4080. I play ultrawide and play all types of games and being able to just crank everything up in 4K DLDSR and still get over 120 FPS all while never even going over 65 degrees has been quite impressive. If you can find the right deal or just wanna blow a wad of cash, do it lol. Cards a beast and I would do the same purchase all over again.
So I picked up one of these to replace my 3090 FE. So just to give you my personal opinion, just get a 4090. 4080s do not perform better than a 3090 or a 3090 ti. If you have the extra money, just get a 4090. These oversized 4080s based on my research have tremendous cut on performance. Not sure why as they are overpriced and would assume they would perform close to a 4090 but the same as a 3090 or ti. If you are coming from a 3060/3070 then this would make sense and if you have an oversized PC case. I play Warzone 2/COD and I get 260 FPS on ultra settings with 1440p display with my 3090 FE. When I installed the 4080, I was getting the same FPS with the same settings. No difference whatsoever. And this is even the OC version. This even comes with its own app to ... I just installed this GPU onto an Asus ROG Strix Z490-F motherboard. This eventually worked fine, but took several hours because:1: The anti-sag bracket (which bolts down to two of the motherboard mounting standoffs) is too wide, and blocks a critical connector. The same might happen with other similar motherboards, but I don't have a variety around to measure....My bench grinder solved this problem, but I prefer not to use a grinding wheel to install a GPU.2: That same bracket only allows the GPU to be installed in one specific PCIe slot. There is adjustment for card length, but not for which PCIe connector.3: The instructions are almost useless, printed on one sheet of paper despite being in many languages (most of it is pictures). Absolutely no information about the unusual power cabling (much less warning about how to avoid the infamous burning connector problem -- in short, make very sure all connectors are completely seated). All I found on the Gigabyte site was a PDF of the same sheet of paper.Seems like Gigabyte could have avoided these problems. I tried notifying both Asus and Gigabyte directly, but they seem hard to reach.Once done, the GPU fired up fine and this seems like a fine and very fast card. We did have to update the graphics driver before audio worked. So unless you're willing to do a little machining, make sure your motherboard doesn't have connectors too near the motherboard mounting points.
