I purchased this board due to a lack of stock for comparable X570 boards in this price point. In fact the one I wanted was cheaper than this board. In need of a board for my new Ryzen 5 5600X I decided I would give Gigabyte another opportunity. And to preface the following complaints, I do realize this is a no frills board and on the cheaper end of the X570 chipset. To say the least I was very disappointed. The overall layout of the board is undesirable. There are only 2 dedicated SYS_FAN headers. There is an OPT_CPU 4 pin connector directly in front of the CPU_FAN 4 pin connector that can be used for a radiator or SYS fan. This information is not something obvious or that Gigabyte tells you in the manual. This information is not something obvious or that Gigabyte tells you in the manual. Not only that but the connectors being so close to one another makes it very annoying to connect a second fan. This is partially my fault for not recognizing what this board looked like, or how many connectors it had before purchase. The actual reason why I will be returning this board is the complaints that others have mentioned in reviews on other websites. There was, and continues to be a problem with the RAM controller or something on this board. It appears this issue has NOT been fixed. The board required updating to the 30+ version before my CPU would work, which is not a problem. The problem is that only 2 of my 4 RAM channels were detected by the motherboard and subsequently Windows. Any HW monitor I used was able to determine that 4 RAM sticks were inserted but it did not appear in the OS or BIOS.That is not the least of my RAM woes. Even with only 2 RAM sticks slotted I was unable to use the full potential of my RAM, after using it for nearly 2 years at 3000Mhz. The board simply would not boot with the XMP profile enabled. Even after manually setting the voltages to 1.35v and manufacturer timings on the RAM the board would not POST. Fortunately the board would revert it's settings after two failed attempts to boot.Overall, I will be returning this product and do not recommend anyone else bother with it unless they only ever intend to use 2 system fans and 2 sticks of RAM. I gave it 2 stars because it is a sturdy board, and is a entry point for the X570 chipset. Perhaps my expectations were a little high.

This is by no means the most feature rich x570 board out there, but it gets the job done darnit. I Bought this in a pinch without looking nearly as hard at the spec sheet as I normally would have but was fairly impressed when I got it home.A few notes on this board to consider:There are not very many fan headers. I ended up having to dig out a fan splitter as I was 2 headers shy of the 6 I needed. There is no USB C port on the back which is kindof a bummer. The I/O shield is a minimum required effort type of design, so it has those obnoxious prongs.Only a single PS/2 port is kinda a bummer but at least it's there unlike a VGA port which would have been nice (there is an HDMI port tho). The BIOS is your standard gigabyte affair and easy enough to ... MoreThis is by no means the most feature rich x570 board out there, but it gets the job done darnit. When building a pc, it's only as strong as it's weakest link. I'm not much of a gamer, but I build with the possibility in mind(GTA 5 once in a while). So I've always had EXCELLENT cooling cases, top notch PSU's, etc etc. In a dozen Gigabyte boards over the years (I build for others as well), none have ever failed. The only problem I've experienced, would be windows 7 not playing nicely with the LAN. But windows 10 has never had the issue. I can't speak about the Bios updates, since I've never updated this ones bios. My 3900x runs fine, so why would I break it lol Now that I think about it though, I may just consider it.

I got this motherboard a week ago for my new Ryzen 7 3700X system with 64 GB of RAM, Intel M.2 NVMe storage and Nvidia GTX 960 video card. The system is screaming fast for 4k video editing. I love the performance. Geekbench 4 is 33340 without any overclocking. The bad part is boot up and USB port issues. They are flakey to the point that the system sometimes does not register keyboard or mouse. I tried 3 keyboards and 2 mice, but the issues persisted. I tried different permutations where to connect each and found a workaround. I plugged mouse in one of the black USB ports and the keyboard in one of the usb2s below.Frequently, it will not boot up unless the main power switch is off and on.I did the bios upgrade. It didn't help. I'm contemplating replacing this ... MoreI got this motherboard a week ago for my new Ryzen 7 3700X system with 64 GB of RAM, Intel M.2 NVMe storage and Nvidia GTX 960 video card. XMP issue is a concern. I am waiting for a response from Gigabyte. I don't know if the problem is only on this board or on all Gigabyte X570 boards. Update: Additional research indicates that Gigabyte boards with X570 chipsets, and some others have the same problem with XMP not functioning in the A1 and B1 slots. Gigabytes' response was to argue that 4000 memory is not guaranteed regardless of the fact that their ads say so. I cannot recommend this or any other Gigabyte board due to their determination NOT to acknowledge a problem with their boards nor any attempt to correct.
I built a 'remote work' machine with this board last March or April. Within the first 2 weeks, the network connection went bad. Rather than take my system apart, send in the board, and lose days of productivity switching work to my other machine, I opted to buy an independent network card. Having to pay a little more money to get the function I already paid for was frustrating, but it wasn't much money. It's an easy installation. Etc. As an aside, having to send a defective product back to Newegg prior to getting a replacement sucks. I should have bought a new board, then returned this one. Newegg should have sent a new one, then billed me if I didn't return the defective one in a timely fashion. Hindsight and all that. Newegg should have sent a new one, then billed me if I didn't return the defective one in a timely fashion. Hindsight and all that. Now, less than a year later, the LEDs on one of my RAM has started to flicker. Software control operates the RAM LED fine, but the hardware will not. Swapping slots affects the same RAM slot. It's definitely the board. Minor annoyance, but I can't help but wonder what else will go out, when, and if this board will survive till the end of the pandemic. I haven't moved the box or opened it or reconfigured it in any way since the network card (until the RAM issue). A year or two isn't nearly enough lifespan for a mobo. This is anything but Ultra Durable.
I have ordered this board along with a 3900x cpu and 32gb of ram.The cpu passed aida64 cpu stress test but kept bsod-ing after a few seconds of memory stress test (did happen on other occasions, linux and windows). Returned mem, cpu and motherboard and scan said that the cpu was faulty and ram was ok. Cpu was replaced but still got the same issue. I believe the motherboard is the pb. Successive bios mentioned memory compatibility issues as well.Even if it is not, it had issues booting (posting 3 times, resetting the year to 2021 and memory to lowest timings). Bios controls are also too simple, duplicated, and unclear and fan pins are not well located. There is very little extra in the motherboard box.
This was one of many parts for my first computer build and my expectations were exceeded. When I first received the box I was impressed with how much information they had just on the box this came in. I originally thought that it would be rather light and that I would feel very anxious about applying pressure to the RAM as I was installing it or when I was to begin connecting cables, however these thoughts quickly went away. Once I removed the motherboard from the very well packaged boxed I first noticed how heavy the board felt. (again this being my first build I wasn't sure what to expect) secondly I found that the stiff nature of the board was very reassuring towards any pressure that would be applied. Once I removed the motherboard from the very well packaged boxed I first noticed how heavy the board felt. (again this being my first build I wasn't sure what to expect) secondly I found that the stiff nature of the board was very reassuring towards any pressure that would be applied. Then I noticed my favorite part and one of the main reasons I would recommend this board to anyone new to building a computer, they had labels for everything placed very well on the board that blended in well with the aesthetics of the board itself. The DIMM slots were labelled with which ones are paired together and which ones to populate first. Many if not all of the other ports were labelled as well. My only issue had which I will take responsibility for was being unsure of which headers for the CPU fan and the RGB for both the Fan and the Case took me a moment to figure out.
I purchased this motherboard a few months ago but due to covid and other issues I wasn't able to attempt to assemble the computer until recently. Upon unboxing the motherboard I noticed some damage near the 24pin connector. I hoped that the motherboard was still functional due to it being out of date to RMA through newegg and sadly it was not. I had power through USB but no power to fans and no post. I sent the board to Gigabyte and was told that due to physical damage they would not warranty the board. I have used many gigabyte products in the past and was always a fan. However, this stance of not honoring their warranty is completely unsatisfactory.
After installation and assembly, unit would not post/boot. (Ryzen 5 3600, Gigabyte GTX1660) Read through the GB forum and learned that there are BIOS issues. Removed the CPU as instructed and flashed most recent BIOS (F11) using Qflash, which is built in to the MB. STILL DIDN'T POST! Currently working backwareds through earlier versions of BIOS since obviously the set up works for some people. Might just end up returning the MB. Major headache. If you buy this, just know that you may have to flash the BIOS to get your newer CPU to work.
