This is very smooth, lasts longer and the handle is metal/rubber. Very comfortable and the head doesn’t break off like the Venus version. The blades are sharper, easier to replace I have been using it for over two years now. When I forget mine for travel/ do not have a new blade head; and have to use a BIC/ Venus razor I get less of a close shave on my legs, the blade clogs faster even when I wipe off the hair. I highly recommend watching male tips on razor cleaning use because I purchased a 50 pc Mach 3 box from Costco and have no regrets. I have saved so much money. I bought two handles, one for travel and one for home. The blades do not blunt or rust as quickly. In comparison my sister still uses the Venus version and it lasts 2 weeks to my Mach 3 4-6 weeks.

The Gillette mach 3 shave system gives me the best razor shaves that I have had in over sixty years of shaving. It is so well designed that I only knick myself about once every five shaves. That is very critical for me as I am on a blood thinner because of Afib and when I cut myself shaving I bleed a lot. I stumbled upon these blades when my luggage was lost of a cruise last summer and they were one of the three shaving devices that were in the store aboard the ship. Once I used these blades I was hooked as they were so smooth and gave such a close shave without cutting myself. I highly recommend the mach 3 to anyone who is on a blood thinner as they are so well designed that they do not cut you when shaving.

The razor blades are very good quality but the price is extremely high! You can only use each blade four times before you have to trash it out. if you use the blades more than four times the blade gets infected with filled with germs and causes razor bumps on face or head and the blade also starts to snag on the hair follicles as you shave if the blade has been used more than 4 times. The blades are easy to install into the razor handle. Again they would be a great Buy if they did not cost so much. Out of all the blades on the Market that I have tried, these Blades Work The Best. Always wash the face or the head properly before shaving then when it's clean of oils and dirt, you can put shaving cream on and go ahead and shave. shaving any other way will cause you to ... MoreThe razor blades are very good quality but the price is extremely high! Alas, the Gillette Mach 3 Razor is no more. Gillette have chosen to change the design and yet the website still shows the product with the turquoise/white Lubrastrip. Copied from the website: "The Mach3 blade cartridges are built for up to 15 comfortable shaves. You'll know it's time to change your blades when the Lubrastrip fades to white or the shaving feels duller than normal." Not so anymore, the "New" Mach 3 Razor is nothing more than a Mach 3 Turbo with a darker Lubrication Strip. I've used Gillette Mach 3 Razors for over 20 years, why try to fix something that isn't broken? The reason I've never changed from Mach 3 is that I've never found any others as comfortable to use and I've tried some as and when they were introduced, Always stayed with Mach 3. Now I find Gillette have forced change upon me and I will have to try Wilkinson Sword :0(
I have used Gillette products for a very long time, but the Proglide razors with the blue strip on bottom of the razor is horrible. Not sure of the design purpose, but now I can't get a close shave like previous razor blades and going to look for other options. For me personally I shave my face and head, but because of this design blue strip can't get a good close shave and my wife has to help me shave my backside of my head now. Please bring the old razor blades prior to this blade series. Signed longtime user....
The older Mach3 razors (with blue plastic, which I ordered directly via the Gillette website) were fantastic. I've been using the Mach3 and only the Mach3 for over 20 years to shave my head and my face - outstanding. However, the last batch of Mach3 razors (the new variety with black plastic) had to be returned. The shave was clearly subpar by comparison. You could not only feel the difference when shaving, but the razors required going over the same area multiple times to produce a shave which was barely as good as what you could achieve with one or two passes from the older blue plastic Mach3's.I don't know why anyone at the company would make changes to a product that is already perfect. It makes no sense whatsoever. I don't know what I will buy to shave my ... MoreThe older Mach3 razors (with blue plastic, which I ordered directly via the Gillette website) were fantastic. Have used double razor blades for a number of years - I’m cheap and this style of razor gave me the ability to trim hard to reach areas like my cleft chin and tight around under my nose. Double blade razors might have been a bit rougher on the skin, but the trade off was a relatively smooth shave, neat trimming and low price. My new Mach 3 razor is 4x as expensive, did provide a smoother first shave, but the larger head and flat cutting angle makes it rubbish getting in the nook and crannies of my face. The result is I had to pull out my tired old two bladed razor to get into the corners and not leave stray patches of beard being missed. Extra time, effort and irritation having to reshape the areas. Also did not appreciate how much harder it is to place the ... MoreHave used double razor blades for a number of years - I’m cheap and this style of razor gave me the ability to trim hard to reach areas like my cleft chin and tight around under my nose. Caught my upper lip when sharing since I couldn’t tell precisely where the blade started. Guess I will get used to this over time or constantly look like I was in a fight.Realize Gillete and others can charge more and more for shaving supplies by touting the extra blades they add - some up to six! Would gladly trade some smoothness for a more precise, and quicker, shaving option than this. With price at and over $2/blade, I don’t need to be the best I can be, I just need to not look like a caveman who shaved with a flint stone. Don’t think that’s asking too much.
I have been using these blades for the past 15 years, if not longer when they were originally called Mach 3 Turbo. They provide a very good shave at a fair price (could be lower of course). True, your 5 blade razors are better. But they are very pricey. For the record: these razors are superior to other manufactures especially Harry's Razors which boast 5 blades. Yes...these 3 blades provide a better shave than Harry's 5 blade razors. All in all...I am very satisfied with your products...shaving creams as well.
I had another model of Gillette razor a few months ago (maybe it was a ProGlide?) that came with a Braun trimmer, and they were both awful. I swore off using cartridge razors and threw it away, and kept using my DE safety razor. However, I was never 100% happy shaving with that type of razor.Months have passed and I decided today to give cartridge razors (and Gillette) another chance. Well, I'm glad I did because it was by far the best shave I've ever had. I was done shaving my head in under 10 minutes and a second pass wasn't necessary. There was never any tugging and it cut through my hair like warm butter. The handle doesn't feel the greatest and is too light for my liking, but the performance was stellar.I'm gonna try my best to stretch the life of these ... MoreI had another model of Gillette razor a few months ago (maybe it was a ProGlide?) that came with a Braun trimmer, and they were both awful. This is the only razor that matters. I have used the Gillette Mach 3 only for over 4 decades now. In my teen I tried other named brand razors and none of them were not even close to comparison. So I still have my original 2 razors and have been buying the refills the them ever since. Best shave without out the knicks and cuts, well worth it. Just wished the criminals wouldn't steal, that drives up the prices. But i will still only buy Gillette Mach 3
