The Global 16cm Meat Chopper G-12 has one real purpose - to smash through bones and cut up large portions of meat. The GLOBAL meat chopper features a thicker steel than ordinary G series knives to handle the repeated blows of going through bone. Compared to most GLOBAL knives, it is the only knife which should be swung down like a hammer. Useful for preparing cuts of chicken, creating lamb chops or spareribs. Very good. I enjoyed using it. The weight and how it's balanced made the knife easy to use. And the handle, it's very grippy. I thought it's gonna get slippery when fat and oil get on to it but I was wrong. Overall I'm impressed with the knife. I'm a global fan now. I have wusthof and fury in my kitchen, both were great knives but I love using my global to hack and slash my next masterpiece.

The Global G-12 Meat Cleaver (16cm) was an excellent present that we gave my best mates son for his 18th Birthday. He has just left school and has an apprenticeship as a Chef at a High-class end Restaurant. He got the complete knife e package from one of his family so we thought we could expand his collect with the Cleaver. At the top front corner of the knife, we engraved 'Happy 18th Birthday Judd from the Thomas Family'. We thought this would be good so throughout his career he will always remember us and know how special he was to our family. Thank you, Kitchen Aid, for supplying such an exceptional piece of equipment so that our little family friend will always remember us.

I love the meat chopper. It does things that I had difficulty cutting , eg; raw chicken legs and wings. It is heavier than I thought it would be but I can understand why with the work it will have to do.

Owned many Global knives, only this particular one I bought from this website.Took good care of it - use, handwash, dried and storeaway. BUt yet it still rusts!Contacted Customer Service but they didnt even bother to reply.
I have this habit...maybe not a good habit...of running my thumb and index finger along the length of the blade to get off pieces of what I've been cutting. If you do that with this cleaver, you will cut yourself because the blade is angled (watch the video on this page). That said, it is a really sharp cleaver and is well-made. I wish it had come with a sheath. I keep it in the very back of my drawer and don't use it as often as I would wish. If you're just a regular cook that wants a good cleaver, perhaps look at another brand with a regular blade.
Im impressed with the knife good clean cuts not too heavy beauty to look at. I was a bit scared to ger such a big knife but cooking Caribbean food we cook a lot of bones chops clean through chicken bones. The service was excellent the item was shipped and received quickly.
I have bought the meat cleaver several times now for family members. It is the best on-a-board chopper!. The rocking action works well as it has a good weight and balance when doing vegetables or fine cutting. The must-have item. Ross
This knife is very sharp. which I like. It is a little heavier than I thought it would be although I expected it to be heave as I read how they are made. I was surprised at how thick the knife is. It is thick enough that when slicing it doesn't slice straight if I am cutting meat. It is a little better when I cut home made bread. I won't be using it as much al I thought as it doesn't take the place of my old Chinese cleaver. Darn!! It is a beautiful well made knife - just not designed for what I needed it for.
I am delighted with Global Meat Cleaver that I purchased, as it worked beyond my expectations, which others appreciated and its price was far below other shops. Its value prompted me to purchase a top boning/ filleting knife and set of steak knives last week that I also know others sell at much higher prices. It also prompted me to my imminent purchase of 2x Swiss Army Penknives for my 2 grandsons requested Xmas presents, after their mothers OK. We jointly checked them out at a leading shop last week and I found the Kitchen Warehouse prices for the same items to be much lower. Delivery to date has been fast and flawless. Thank You!
I do not own a Global knife at all, but having worked for many years in professional kitchens I have had the opportunity to use one on occasion. I do not like using thembecause the handles always get slippery and hard to hold onto. The blades are good quality, but because of the handles I consider these to be one of the most dangerous knives in the kitchen
