I understand what they were going for, but if you want me to believe the Norse gods are formiddable, show me that.Gameplay wise, it feels like this game wasnt playtested at all. Most offensive example of this are the elven enemies. They can attack in rapid succession with attacks you cannot block or dodge, and theres no possible way to onterrupt their attacks. Its like the controller just stops responding at those moments. Outside of combat, many puzzles are confusing because their answer blends in to the environment so well, it just has me wondering, did anyone who didnt already know the solution test these?

More of the same, so if you like 2018 you'll probably like this game. Unfortunately that also means it didn't fix some of the bad aspects of the previous entry.Presentation is very good, graphics look great, the audio is well done with great surround effects, and the haptics are quite nice. The story is a bit meandering, and when it's good it's really good, but it has a lot of... valleys. Overall I still like the story and characters though.-Find the three doodads to open the chest has long overstayed its welcome.-Kratos' attacks have little to no hitstun, and the windups are often too long. Nothing feels worse than the God of War being stunned out of an attack from a little lizard goblin that hyper armored through my attacks.-Enemies still glide around the ... MoreMore of the same, so if you like 2018 you'll probably like this game. The camera is terrible.Overall it's a good game, but it's hampered by some really questionable inclusions and while many of the complaints about 2018 were addressed and fixed, they failed to fix some of the more glaring issues with the combat which is very disappointing.

Kratos Is Back!

Collector's Editions becoming fewer these days due to digital becoming the go-to for a lot of gamers. I jumped at the opportunity to get this God of War CE.I was not disappointed. The entire box is filled with quality items. Thor's Hammer is the most impressive. And the actual box itself is something that you'll want to have on display.I really ejnoyed the game. The story really hits you in the feels. However, the pacing of Ragnarok isn't as tight as the 2018 God of War. Instead of the one continuous shot of playing as Kratos as we did in the previous game, we play as Atreus here and there. I won't say anything more pertaining to that since I won't spoil anything. The visuals are impressive but if I am going, to be honest, I was more impressed with the visuals of ... MoreCollector's Editions becoming fewer these days due to digital becoming the go-to for a lot of gamers. If you're only wanting to play the game then again, you won't be disappointed by the time you finish the meaningful story.

Ill keep it short. The game absolutely delivers. The characters are more fleshed out. The world itself are gorgeous and filled with very maticulous side stories you can easily get lost in. It definately has a longer run time compared to the first it took me a little over 30 hours to finish and i did quite a few side quests and activities but wow it is quite the ride. Combat is once again the highlight. Without spoiling anything at the first it does feel the same but once you reach certain points in the story the combat elevates and enhances the original combat to new heights and it never gets old. As far as bugs go i had a fairly bug free experience but there are youll probably run across. For me i had one when an npc would walk to the quest giver and i couldnt ... MoreIll keep it short. This game has amazing combat and story. The devs did listen to what people wanted from the previous God of War game and implemented it in this one. I like that this game feels like it only improves on what they have done in 2018. More enemy variety, less recycled bosses and more boss encounters, to only name a few of many. There are a couple of issues that pop up every now and then. One where the camera is too close to main character and its hard to see when off screen attacks are coming. It can be frustrating at times dying to this (playing on hardest difficulty). Another issue I encountered is where a "prompt" did not appear during some sections of the game that did not allow me to progress. Even with these issues that I have encountered, it does not keep this from me believing this is a 5-star game. All the options for accessibility that the devs put into this is pretty awesome as well. Just by doing this, you can tell they wanted to make this game playable to as many people as possible.

Honestly I might receive backlash for this review but this is just my own opinion. I did not like this God of War.First the pros. The game has amazing combat and stunning visuals as it always does! Santa Monica Studios knows how to make a gorgeous game. The world felt fun and had so many enemy variants, unlike the 2018 GoW which we mostly fought giants. Now the bad.. this game has a slow pace so badly! Yes you could do the story only, but I’m a firm believer in playing side missions as it makes you feel more immersed. None of the side missions felt important, or even like it was worth the time and related in any way to the world. Atreus can be very difficult and acts like a bad kid, but in reality not all kids will behave as such. I rarely leave reviews. Especially for games. But I wanted to show my love and support for Santa Monica and Sony. My God. This is By FAR. The most visually stunning, emotionally capturing story game I have ever played. And without a doubt the best game I have ever played. Each individual who has worked on the game obviously has a passion for making games to the highest degree. In every frame you can tell just how much work has been put into this masterpiece. I’ve just completed the whole story and was gripped for the whole 25+ hours. There was no moment I didn’t want to continue or explore further.
