This is an incredible little flash which takes studio style lighting into the field with a minimum size and weight. I've used AD200s out and about for several months now but if anything these little gems are even more fully featured, a modelling light and an internal zoom come to mind. But when not used on location these flashes have proved to be very useful on a lighting stand in a home studio - see picture. Whether indoors or out though, remember these flashes do need to be fired by either a sync cable or ideally a wireless trigger - neither being supplied with the flash heads. I use a Godox Xpro trigger which enables 5 groups or heads to be separately controlled.

Bought this in Feb. 2021, and used it twice in the first month. I don't normally use OCF, so I just wanted something small to use with product photography or just to add a bit of fill to portraits. To be fair, it ended up sitting on a shelf for about a year before I needed it again, but when I put the battery in and pressed the power button... nothing. I used the USB-C port on the side and it started for half a second and then shut off, and has yet to show any semblance of power. Tried ordering brand new batteries and still nothing. May try to buy another unit, or try the V1 since I can use the batteries from this one

Absolutely amazing!

That's one of the thing you you said yourself how I didn't buy it till now? It fits perfect for my needs. The flesh attached to Godox umbrella 105w, give me the perfect soft light that I need for portrait, I really wanted something small that can fit to my bag and be very handy. (I also owned 400pro, 300pro, 200pro ,V1). It's so compact and easy to use. I will keep updating..

Great little flash
10 April 2022

This is my second Godox AD100Pro and it's a great little flash. I love the power which is more than a speed light. I use my two AD100Pros by themselves or with my two Godox AD200Pros for an awesome four light setup. It has a modeling light, but it isn't really bright enough unless you're in a totally dark room. Battery life is very good and keeps up with the AD200s. I love that this is about the size of a soda can, it fits in a lens pocket in my bag so I always have a light with me. The Godox remotes work very well providing complete manual control, or full TTL. A nice crossover between a speed light and a larger monolight.

Know what you are getting and you'll be happy
27 November 2022

I bought this after watching a lot of Godox videos on YouTube. They do a very good job of positioning their products. I was stuck trying to decide between just using my flashes, getting an AD200 or buying this. Ultimately, I grabbed this little unit and have now shot about 300 shots with it over two shoots (I am using it as a rimlite sitting inside a Bowens mount modifier when I shoot in small spaces) and I love it.There was a time when I couldn't afford to buy the big name lights and bought Godox as a necessity (including buying an extra or two while expecting failures - though I have had only one quit on me after buying 18 Godox lights/flashes). I can afford basically whatever lights I want now and stick with Godox because in addition to still keeping their pricing sane - they have actually become a manufacturer of very good lights. Beyond loving this light I am now turning into a big lover of Godox in general. Hard to go wrong - just make sure you are selecting the right light for the job.

Love these lights
26 July 2021

A great little light. Small package with good output. Two of these for background and hair lights, along with two AD200Pros for front lights, makes a great four light portrait kit. These are also good for hiding in sets for environmental portraits and lifestyle photos to provide depth and texture. So much easier to carry and deploy than my old Broncolor Impact lights, and the slightly lower power than the Broncolor hasn't been a problem. A great addition to my lighting kit. I can carry these in my camera pack in a lens compartment and always have lights. The zoom function, adjustable output, battery power, and magnetic accessories adds to their versatility.

Perfect size
6 October 2022

I have a few of these lights now and they are perfect for receptions. They are small, compact, lots of battery life, and all sync SO easily with the godox system. I just got an extra one as I had one fall over while on a stand when the wedding dance party got started. So I am going to put these safely away before dancing starts from now on. I love these little strobes!

The Infamous Green Color shift is REAL!!!
12 August 2022

I own nearly the entire line of godox battery powered strobes from the ad1200 all the way down to the ad100 and multiple units of each. I use their system exclusively. I own about 15 units total. They all are an excellent product except for the ad100.Unfortunately the AD100 is an excellent light but is completely pointless to own for a professional. This is because of the infamous green tint it creates (I will say however if you shoot environmental portraits in indoor fluorescents or cheaper led lighting it actually works out because you don't have to gel the green to match the color tint of the LED's/fluorescents).The reason it is a COMPLETELY pointless light is because it is a little more powerful than the more versatile Godox V1 on-camera flash, and any gain ... MoreI own nearly the entire line of godox battery powered strobes from the ad1200 all the way down to the ad100 and multiple units of each. This is because of the infamous green tint it creates (I will say however if you shoot environmental portraits in indoor fluorescents or cheaper led lighting it actually works out because you don't have to gel the green to match the color tint of the LED's/fluorescents).The reason it is a COMPLETELY pointless light is because it is a little more powerful than the more versatile Godox V1 on-camera flash, and any gain you get in power with the ad100 is taken away with light loss of gel'ing your ad100 to be more neutral. So you will end up with nearly the same output in the end. There is a fix for this and i am in progress of fixing the 2 units I own. The offending part in the unit is the fresnel lens inside the flash unit. Godox has tinted this part green in manufacturing to counteract the magenta shift that the bare bulb gives off. Unfortunately they WAY over compensated throwing this light extremely green. So to fix this tint you will have to do the following:0. If you can find it order a spare fresnel lens part for the Godox V1 flash (ill explain below).1. Remove the 4 screws on the front of the unit holding on the plastic frosted lens.2. Pull out that lens.3. Under that lens is another fresnel lens (the offending green tinted part). Remove it.4. Install the Godox V1 fresnel lens in its place. They are the same size yet the V1 version does not have the green tint.5. put it back together. This should get you within +1 green of being neutral if not perfectly neutral (tint wise).I ordered my parts from china and the fresnel cost me 30 bucks each.If i could go back in time I would just order more Godox V1 units instead (although they also have a little of a tint shift problem too just much much less severe). The V1's, like I said, are nearly as bright and have many more features including a built in wireless trigger.Anyway i hope that helps someone out there.

I finally picked up a couple of these units. I own many godox AD lights like the AD200, AD300, AD400 and AD1200. I am a professional photographer. When the AD100 came out i didn't think I would use it much over the ad200 so i didn't buy at first (i use the round head attachments on the AD200).This past week i chose and used mostly the ad100's on location. They are so light and so easy to gel with the magnetic attachments (by the way i recommend using LEE or Rosco cutouts taped to the filter holder instead of the godox brand ones).I have done a lot of outdoor shots this month with Holiday lights in the background and these have worked out to be great little units with a medium sized quick fold soft box and the R2 connector for bowens mount. Easy to grab and go when you don't need a huge amount of output. They have also been very nice to use for various indoor environmental portraits when balancing with ambient light. In any case, i saw a YouTuber complain that there was a slight green color cast to the flash compared to the strobes mentioned above. Honestly if that is the case it has had an unnoticeable affect on my images and everyone has been happy with their images. It has made a nice lightweight addition to my smaller on location kit. Its nice to have different tools for different situations.
