Just used it over the weekend at a church shoot. Pared up well with the R2 Pro and seems to be simple and effective. Of course I'll probably never install this unit on top of my Fuji X-E3 camera, as it would consume the camera's volume. However my intention is to use it on a small light stand, mostly for ceiling bounce. So far - it seems like a solid effective product!

I have many Godox lights (AD300s and AD200s) and I love how seamlessly they all work together. I've only been playing with it for a few days, but the battery is lasting forever. I haven't used it to trigger my other Godox lights yet as I use the remote trigger. The accessory kit is great too. I can see myself using this light often when higher power is not needed. Though it's plenty powerful!

I read a few great reviews and some youtube videos on how Godox was better than Profoto for less money. The V1 is a great price and has excellent specs, but I don't think it measures up. I bought the new Fujifilm GFX 102mp and I wanted something TTL and HSS and I felt like this was the best option as there are not a lot TTL and HSS options. Now I am rethinking it.First off, I see a lot of questions on whether the GFX medium format system works with TTL and High speed sync, and I can confirm the V1 TTL and HSS does work with Fuji GFX. It doesn't seem very intuitive to set as the flash has several unlabeled buttons or just a symbol. You can set the high speed sync in the camera's menu settings. There is sometimes a sync button on the LCD screen of the flash, but ... MoreI read a few great reviews and some youtube videos on how Godox was better than Profoto for less money. It doesn't seem very intuitive to set as the flash has several unlabeled buttons or just a symbol. You can set the high speed sync in the camera's menu settings. There is sometimes a sync button on the LCD screen of the flash, but sometimes not.The flash unit itself has some serious issues. I have only used it twice, but both times the flash is failing to go off way too many times and the indicator light is flashing red and won't recycle for well over second or maybe 2. I assume I am shooting too fast, but I am only on 1/8th power and the battery is fresh. I took maybe 20-30 shots pretty quickly, but nothing a normal Canon Speedlight with cheap recyclable batteries wouldn't handle. If I turn off the unit for 1 second and turn it on, then it is instantly fine for a while!! Just seems buggy. Maybe I got a lemon, or maybe this is what to expect from Godox.I am new to Godox, but the controls are not very intuitive. I own a lot of different systems power packs, monolights and similarly have 3 Canon speedlights, 1 Nikon speedlight and the Profoto B1x with TTL with transmitters for Canon and Fuji. All those systems, I can turn on and operate within seconds. But for some reason, the Godox is just confusing. For example, It took me like 2 minutes with the model standing there to change the TTL output to +2/3. It was just a button and it was labeled correctly +/-, but I couldn't really see it as it wasn't very bright in the room and the dial it is on is a little flimsy and small. Instead, I hit another button and it sent me to another screen and I couldn't get back to the TTL. Also, I bought the Godox XProF TTL Wireless Flash Trigger and I could not figure out on my shoot today how to get it to sync with the flash. I knew the sync worked because I had already set it up the first time I used the flash. But I just couldn't figure it out and thought I was doing it right. I had wanted the flash on an L bracket and had about 10 minutes to get it prepared as the team was finishing makeup. I just couldn't get them to sync. I found my instruction booklet and tried to follow it step by step for like 5 minutes. I set the channel and the group....no luck. Then the model was ready and I was forced to shot with the flash on camera and everything horizontal!! It was frustrating. But I just spent 20 minutes now going through the instructions step by step and I see they are sending me to another page (pg 33) and somehow I needed to set the wireless ID, which was off on the transmitter, but set on the flash. No idea why it worked last time or how it changed on the transmitter if I had set it before. Maybe it resets? But in comparison, last week I picked up my Profoto B1x and transmitter for the first time in months with 5 minutes before a shot and was nervous I wouldn't remember how to connect the 2. No, took me like 5 seconds to get every and any feature going.I think the controls will start to make sense if I use the flash more often. But I do think Godox needs to rethink them and make them a little more intuitive. I would give the controls 3 stars as I am sure some fans of the system would be frustrated with my review and you can do a lot with the system. However, the lack of power, recycling, or just downright not working correctly is inexcusable. I would give the unit 1 Star. Maybe it needs repair, but that stinks to buy a flash and it is a lemon out of the box. I guess I need to contact Godox and see how their customer service. What a pain!

Cannot believe this flash is up for the 3rd gig and the battery is almost full! TTL does great job! Overall love the flash!
I have only had a brief time with this unit, but so far I am very impressed. Have previously owned Canon 580 and currently own the smaller Fuji flash units. I am an enthusiast/hobbyist and cannot imagine ever needing more than this provides. I am super impressed with how quickly I was able to get up and running with it, and I was able to connect to the Godox X1T flash trigger that I purchased separately in under 5 minutes. It all works flawlessly on my Fuji X-H1. The TTL delivers well-exposed images on or off-camera, it recycles quickly, and I find it intuitive to use.If you own a Fuji, its a no-brainer, and although I have not used their larger flashes I would confidently recommend this as a very capable third party unit. Professionals with different demands may have other feedback; for me its probably overkill but I'm glad to have all the capability on offer. One more thing, the accessory kit is a no-brainer and the magnetic attachment is quick, clean and simple. I can also stack multiple accessories (i.e. color gel, diffuser, barn door) if I choose. Just consider it part of the purchase cost, you will not regret it.
It works great. I wish it would have a battery low warning, since it starts to misfire when the battery gets low. Other than that, it works like a charm. Great product.
I have been retooling wedding gear from Canon to Fuji XT4 Xpro3 with 6 lenses featuring the 50mm f/1.0 . This flash completes my needs for lighting. It's small light and packs a punch. The best part is how easy it talks to my Fuji AD 100 can lights. I have two of them and I am all ready to shooting weddings on the fly. I am pounds lighter shooting faster with better color. Very happy with this purchase less than half the price of the Canon 600EXII-RT.
This flash is a perfect substitute for a manufacturer's flash. The controls are extremely similar. Also, having a modeling light is spectacular in a hot shoe flash. The modifiers and their magnetic attachment make this a very cool flash to use.
Bought this to work both on and off camera with my GFX-100s. Whether bouncing it off a ceiling or wall on camera, or triggering it with the XT2, this flash works perfectly with my camera for correct TTL exposures. Have also paired it with the Godox AD200 in a multi-flash set-up and again works flawlessly. A powerful flash unit with wide coverage.
I decided to give a V1 a try since I have been very happy with my four Godox V860II units and two AD200 units. The round head produces a smoother transition than the rectangular heads when used as a background light which is nice. I also especially like the magnetic accessory kit (not included) as this adds a lot of functionality to the V1. Especially if you routinely need to gel your flashes to blend in with ambient light. I do wish the V1 used the same battery and charger as the V860II units, but it's a small complaint and a non-issue if you do not own any of them. Time will tell how well it holds up, but I am 2 years into my other Godox units with good luck so far.
