Godox is quickly climbing to the top of the photo and video market and are establishing themselves as a top tier brand. They make very nice equipment and this new flash trigger is just proof of that! Very cool, albeit a smaller than expected device. Very high tech and very simple to use. All touchsceen. Works well and communicates with godox flashes. 5 stars!

I have two other Godox Xpro flash triggers for my Nikon and Panasonic cameras, but they have lots of buttons so changing settings can be slow and a pain on studio nights at the photography club. I wanted the new X3 with its touch screen because it is far quicker to change settings and the menu layout is much better and easier to set up. It took about two minutes to go though all the settings and set it ready to use without looking at the instructions. Its just like using your mobile phone, its that easy to use.

I've shot with the X-Pro S for a few years now and it's great. As soon as I saw this X3 Trigger on PixaPro's Instagram for pre-order, I dived straight in to purchase it.I've used it a few times now and its seamless, small and doesn't take up hardly any space in the camera bag. It did come in Chinese but a simple setting in the language got me to English in seconds.I like the touch screen and the ability to increase flash power with a slide of your finger and individual or as a group. The updating process seems very simple to do and I look forward to future updates.I'm keen to see if Godox and PixaPro embrace the OLED touch screens built into their flashes next.Would recommend for anyone :)

I recieved this trigger today and could not believe how easy it was to set up, more easier then the ST-IV, normally i would have to read a manual to go through setting it up but didnt have to with this one, the only downfall I would say is, you cant use the godox app to control the trigger as there is no built in blutooth but maybe im asking for too much too soon, im sure there will be upgraded versions which will introduce the blutooth feature and i love how its just a small thing that sits on top of the camera hot shoe rather then a big trigger. definatly happy with this one and it was worth the purchase.
I was concerned when these were announced. The use of a rechargeable battery that takes 2hours to recharge…what happens if it dies during a shoot? Would I need to carry an AA back up option?Well they finally arrived and after a quick charge we were off. After a handful of jobs over about a week, I’d managed to get 27 hours of shooting time out of one charge nearly 3000 flashes and it only missed a handful. I’ve quickly got used to the interface and am moving around it quickly. I really like that you can not only turn of groups but you can also remove them from the screen if your not using them. Making for a much cleaner interface. I will absolutely be updating the studios triggers with more X3 as and when I need to.
I have used this trigger on Hasselblad cameras (Nikon). The trigger works well with no glitches, however, with the screen being so small I found myself using the scroll wheel for all the adjustments and I do not have big hands. If the screen was slightly larger, then I could make use of the touchscreen. I can't say anything about the battery life yet as after two shoots with it, there is still a good battery level left.
I've replaced my GODOX X Pro II controllers with the X3 controllers for their compact size, a more vivid (and colourful) screen, one less battery size to carry and, I find them faster to operate that the X Pro II, with its rotary dial. The hot shoe lock is a great innovation, and seems to be more robust than other mechanisms. I often photograph events at night with 2 cameras (Nikon and Lumix) sharing one off camera flash. The X3 is more appropriate for the µ4/3 camera due to size. Just the screen display at night makes this a better choice over the older controllers, but the controls on the X3 seem more intuitive and faster to operate to me. The Xnano for Olympus has a menu setting for Legacy Hot Shoe triggering and operation as an app to the Sekonic L-858-G light meter that the Xnano for Nikon lacks, even with the Xnano-N updated to firmware version 1.09. Olympus still at version 1.0.The Olympus one will trigger flash off my Pentax K3 Monochrome but only at 1/160 and no TTL or HSS either. (Wish they'd make one for Pentax.) Godox continues to provide useful and effective products at a realistic price point while challenging the biggest names in usability. This little trigger builds on that in a surprisingly intuitive package with construction that feels built as good as it gets.
