Problem with this camera is a Nest Aware subscription is needed to get the most out of it. Recent updates to the app have made it useless as I can't view back video history. For the price this camera gives a decent picture and wide frame of vision. It doesn't have the ability to identify vehicle number plates at range (you'd need more expensive and capable camera for that), but has clever functionality. The movement detection and recording video and uploading to Google Cloud allowing history playback is great. You get 1 free month to try that, and can subscribe for a small fee per month. Good value for the price.

Good picture and sound quality.Looks neat not too bigDoesn't cut out.If you don't move for a while even though you are in room it doesn't record which is only negative however you can still view live. Just you don't have permanent record.

Bought this Google camera to be used as a baby monitor. It is very small yet captures a large area. It stands on the edge of our babies cot and captures the whole cot bed, it also can easily be moved around (sturdy without being fixed to the cot), it can also be mounted to the wall. Very long cable connected to the plug which is very useful.Two way audio useful for talking to baby/listening, we have ours connected to our phones and a Google hub screen, very good quality picture (just zoom in on your smart device as you would on a photo). Has night vision (makes a few clicking noises when it's adjusting to darkness), which is just as clear to view.Very portable, have taken on holiday, doesnt take up much space at all.Great product

It integrates easily and quickly through your Google Home App. If you have the necessary subscription with Google, it will carry out facial recognition and provide necessary alerts if it detects people or movement. You can set it up so that it turns on when you leave the house, for added security.I've deducted a star as the older Nest cameras, allowed for USB connectivity. As such the cable could be replaced for a longer cable or a new cable it if was damaged by a pet. The new cameras have the cable hard wired, so you're limited on cable length and if the cable gets damaged, you need a new camera. Much improved aesthetically from the previous version, similar high quality pictures and simple, slick setup procedure.Existing users may want to note that this generation camera is no longer visible in the Nest app; you'll need to migrate to the Google Home app. Feature wise this is a small step backwards at the time of this review.
The camera itself is great but the new Google app is terrible. I have a Nest camera and thermostat and wanted to add this as a second camera. The old Nest app was great as you could easily use your phone to detect if you are home and schedule when you want the devices to turn on. With the Google app that just doesn't work - it never seems to recognise when I am home and I cannot get a schedule set up - the app is over complicated and very difficult to use. As a result I have to use the old Nest app for my thermostat and just leave the camera on all the time. Very disappointed.

Solid and secure indoor camera, which replaced another more expensive camera that decided to stop working after the manufacturer pushed out update.Picture and sound quality are excellent, especially given much cheaper price; alongside usability is superb. Be mindful if you already own Nest cameras, that these cameras use Google’s Home app only; but it’s no hardship once used to the layout.
Purchased this recentely but sent back within 48hrs. Camera works pefectely like the other 5 Google Nest cameras that I already have but this next generation camera from Google can only be viewed from The Google Home app and not the Nest app along with all the other cameras and thermostats which is a great shame and a big mistake. The Nest app is slick, simple and easy to use, the Google app is far from being the fininished product aand not easy to use and a lot of features are missing. So, in short I will not be purchasing any more Google Nest products until they have sorted this shambles out. The actual camera is very good which makes this all a shame!
