The interface is very easy to use and there are so many cool tricks that Google packed into the phone for such a great price. One of my favorite tricks at the moment is when you take a picture the camera will tell you if your phone is straight or not. A bar will appear in the middle of your screen with the angle that your phone is at. It's very helpful when taking pictures of a landscape or even a family group picture. The phone also has a great battery life. On one charge I am able to play PUBG for two hours with the brightness up all the way, watch Tik Tok for a few hours, have YouTube and a few other apps running in the background and the phone does not die. The battery drains really slowly which is perfect for me since I like to be on my phone for entertainment. And the charging time is very short (but this does depend on what your starting battery percentage is before the charge). The speakers are wonderful! They are located on both the top and the bottom of the phone which gives the sound a nice surround sound feel. When I watch a video without my headphones I can have the volume pretty low and still hear quite well (which is a definite upgrade from my previous phone).I think the only thing that I don't particularly like about the Pixel 3a XL is that the headphone jack is at the top of the phone instead of the bottom. But, that's alright because I use Bluetooth headphones most of the time :).The Google Pixel 3a XL is a great, high-quality phone for a very good price. I honestly think it is much better than any of the new Apple iPhones (especially when it comes to battery life and the camera). I would highly recommend this phone to anyone who needs a big, clear HD screen, beautiful camera, high running performance, loud speakers, and a long lasting battery life.

After reading some of the other reviews I felt I should provide my own. My pre ious phone which was purchased out of necessity was a Samsung J7. Anyone who reviewed this Pixel 3aXL as the worst phone ever has not used the J7. I have always been a Samsung Fan especially the Note series, however, I was so tired of the terrible J7 I got this Pixel. Simply put, this Pixel is one of the best phones I've ever had. This phone does take a little getting used to but the learning curve is quite quick and easy. I am amazed by the speed of this phone. Someone wrote that the colors were dull, however if you have the blue light filter turned on, turn off the adaptive brightness and set the colors under advanced to adaptive, and turn the brightness up, the colors will pop, and be extremely vibrant. The contrast betwee colors is truly amazing.Everything about this phone, in my opinion, just to rocks. The only reason that I did not give the phone 5 stars is because the battery certainly does not last near as long as it suggests it should and I find myself having to plug it in more frequently then I should, however the quick charger allows for a very short charge time so the turn around is quick. The other possible reasonmay be because there is no way to replace the battery, however in today's throw away society, most people are getting rid of their phones and getting the latest and greatest new phone. In that regard its likely that people will be getting a new phone before the battery will ever need replacing..For the low price of this phone capared the others this phone is just amazing. The Octa- ore processor and 4GB DDR4 kicks #&&!By far the best phone in terms of speed, screen quality, and usability are top of the line. Another really nice feature of the Pixel is the lack of bloateware you find on most phones. Usually the phone manufacturer will load the phone with junk apps and the carrier will force their apps on to their phones. If I recall correctly Sprint has only placed 1 app on the device and that is the My Sprint App to manage your account and pay your bill (and the ability to upgrade and or buy a new phone) that's it. No bloat where what do ever. Infact you can ever remove some of the Google apps if there are apps you don't want to use. Your not forced to keep apps you do t want and waste space on your device..I do believe I am a new fan of the Google Pixel Phones and should I upgrade to a new phone, I do believe without question I would get another Pixel. If you have never tried a Pixel, I urge you to check out a Pixel, as I believe e you will fall for the Google Pixel as I have!

I was a Samsung Galaxy loyalist, until I switched to Huawei. With all the US/China issues with Huawei, it was time for an upgrade, but after using my Huawei I never wanted to go back to Samsung. This Google Pixel has blown everything else I've owned out of the water! It really is an amazing phone. I love the look of it, and it's very fast and smooth. It's great having an Android phone from Google without it being weighed down with all the carrier-specific or manufacturer-specific apps (which couldn't be uninstalled without jailbreaking your phone, which I wasn't interested in). I was already using all Google apps (such as messenger) so there was no transition time to go on this phone. The Pixel 3a XL slightly bigger than my Huawei Mate SE, which I love. The ... The fingerprint sensor on the back is great. The camera is AMAZING. The portraits I can take of myself in selfie mode or of my kids with the rear camera come out beautifully. I'm very impressed with both the front and rear cameras. There are a lot of great little features, like the timer that tells me how much battery life I have left. I enjoy all the built-in wellness features, such as taking out the blue tint on the screen at night, and being able to silence apps when I want to be focused on work and not get distracted.I've had this phone for a few weeks now and there's nothing I wouldn't change. I put an OtterBox Defender and a glass screen protector on it, which all still lets me use the active edge functions. This phone will last me years to come. I'm very happy with it in looks and performance and customizability.

I replaced this phone with an S21 Ultra. What a mistake. The camera on this is better, it's half the weight, and there is no (insert phone manufacturer here) bloatware. It's just google. The only reason I "upgraded" was because it didn't work with my Samsung watch. Well, it did, sort of...It would send everything to the watch, but I could not stop the phone from ringing. If I denied a call on the watch, the phone just kept going. Kind of made the whole thing pointless. I had an S8 before and that's when I got the watch - and I am not fond of Googles watch design at all. So I guess you either go full Google or not at all. And I am 100% okay with NOT going full Google. Never go full Google...But seriously, the camera takes pictures 10x better than the s21 and the ... MoreI replaced this phone with an S21 Ultra. And I am 100% okay with NOT going full Google. Never go full Google...But seriously, the camera takes pictures 10x better than the s21 and the new phones like it. Why? No idea. It's like they tried too hard. Everyone thinks pictures look so great because they look at them on a 3" screen. Comparing the same exact pic taken with the 3A and S21 on a 4k monitor (properly calibrated) was night and day. The 3A showed everything clear. The S21 looked blurry and like it was oversharpening. Nothing changed this on the S21 and there are TONS of complaints from newer phones just like it with all these "super sensors" in the Camera's. Sad really...But anyways... I've never broken a phone before. I dropped my s21 recently and it was just enough to mess something up inside, but not outside. So now the screen has a green hue to it when it's charging instead of all black. I switched back to the 3A and was so happy I did. Now I am considering a Google watch because I'm just over it. I just want simplicity.
Product arrived 17 days earlier then Ebay predicted even after crossing an international boarder very nice. It's condition is excellent - if not for a small sticky material from the owners previous phone case I would have said it looked brand new (material easily rubbed off). The screen is shadow less and there is not a scratch on it. Phone arrived unlocked from any carrier and I was easily able to Flash the Ubuntu Touch operating system onto the device. (though I felt a little bad about that because the android that came pre installed looked clean af) After replacing the OS I plugged in my SIM and calling worked perfectly (Even had 4G yay! [btw I know that sounds dumb but my previous phone did not have 4G]). Battery so far has been really good though I know that ... In the past year I have had two Google Pixel 3a phone's. I was really excited about having a Google phone because I enjoy using Google apps (drive, gmail, calendar). My last phone had many issues and I was looking for a product that would work for a few years. My boyfriend and his whole family have Google devices. After their recommendation, I purchased the 3a in May 2019. Two months later the screen wouldn't work and would freeze, so I contacted Google. They sent me to uBreakiFix to replace the screen (all covered under warranty). That didn't work. I reached out to Google a second time and they replaced my Pixel 3a with a refurbished Pixel 3a. My refurbished device lasted until the end of July 2020. Then it began having a different screen issue. The screen would become discolored (a purple tint), but I could still use the device. The purple discoloration would go away if I pushed in the center of my screen. I contacted Google again and they wouldn't help because my warranty expired (a week before). Now I am stuck with a device that will randomly turn purple. I'm now considering buying a different device NOT in the Google family because of this experience.
I read everything that I could about this phone when I was looking to replace my 1st Gen Pixel XL. What I have found out now that I have used it for a month is that I don't even notice that it is a scaled down version of the premium model. The camera is one of my priority features and it is the best that I have ever had on a phone. My kids are I Phone users and they were wowed by the picture quality. Once I put a case and a glass protector on it any noticeable difference in the build quality is invisible. The sound clarity and processing speed are fine for the personal and work functions that I use all the time. I mainly text, talk, check multiple email accounts and surf favorite websites. For the price I am more than satisfied with the phone. Like most people I ... MoreI read everything that I could about this phone when I was looking to replace my 1st Gen Pixel XL. Like most people I want the latest and greatest gadgets but this phone has made me realize that paying $1000 for a phone isn't necessary to have everything I need and more. I am not tied to a contract so I can upgrade if something comes out in a year or so that I absolutely have to have and I will have gotten my money's worth. If I keep it longer I really come out ahead. Google supports for three years so I will continue to get updates through May 2022 . I also get premium Google HD photo storage just for having a Google phone. It has a headphone jack which I love. It isn't waterproof so I do have to be more cautious. This a great deal for the price.
My previous phone was a Moto Z Play. I loved the long battery life which would often last two or three days on a charge. For two years it was fairly reliable but always a bit flaky. For example, I would set do not disturb to deactivate after two hours and it would remain active. I also liked that it had a headphone jack and SD card reader. However, using the card as internal memory would slow down the phone to the point where it would take about 20 seconds for the camera to start. Once I set the SD card to external, the phone was fairly reliable. The camera was ok but not great. Pictures tended to be out of focus and grainy especially under low light conditions. I also liked the Moto Z for the mods -although they turned out to be more of a gimmick than a feature. I ... MoreMy previous phone was a Moto Z Play. I also liked the Moto Z for the mods -although they turned out to be more of a gimmick than a feature. I received the free snap-on projector when I bought the phone, but only used it a few times in three years.Unfortunately, my final year of owning the Moto was frustrating. The battery failed after two years and replacements would only last a few months. After two years of mostly reliable use and one year of frustration, I was reluctant to buy another Moto Z despite the fact that near the end of 2019 they are practically giving the Moto Z phones and Mods away. Why the Pixel 3A XL? It had what I liked about my Moto Z play: good battery life - I get over 24 hours on a charge; modest specs at a modest price point; clean, uncluttered, and up-to-date version of Android (I was able to upgrade to Android 10 right away). The Pixel also has a much better camera than the Moto. Best Buy has both the Moto Z3 Play and Pixel 3A phones right next to each other so I took a picture inside the store with both. The Pixel image was noticably crisper compared with the Moto. When I zoomed in on an appliance display the image taken with the Moto was out of focus and over exposed while the image taken with the Pixel was clear. I could read the writing on some boxes that were across the room in the Pixel image while a large appliance display sign was out of focus on the Moto image. I also liked how the optional florescent lighting feature of the Pixel gave the image a cool blue tone.I'm happy I picked the Pixel 3a XL. I also considered the 3 XL and 4 XL - my older eyes need a bigger screen. The Pixel 4 was about to be released but was more than I wanted to spend. It also lacks a headphone jack and decent battery life. Cutting edge specs, high refresh rate and multiple IR sensors appear to drain the battery of the Pixel 4. I could have gotten a Pixel 3 for about the same price as the 3a, but opted for the 3a mainly because of the longer battery life and headphone jack.Pros: battery life, snappy response, clean up-to-date version of Android, 64 GB of internal RAM without headaches of an SD card.Plastic case may not be as nice as metal or glass, but looks fine and is easy to grip.Camera: Amazing photos, night mode works great.Setup: Fairly straight forward. My Moto Z was dead but most of my photos, contacts, apps and settings were backed up in the cloud.Cons: Placement of volume button causes problem when the phone is placed in an auto cup holder. The volume button gets bumped and volume gets set to a minimum. No other gripes. After a little over a week of ownership, I really love my new phone.
This is a great phone with a fantastic camera. The only real negative thing I can say about it is that it's only got 64GB of storage and it inexplicably doesn't take a micro-SD card.As with other Google phones, it's simple to install a custom ROM on it. I highly recommend doing this since it frees up space, makes it more snappy, and starts you off with the minimum number of installed apps required to use it.The camera. I can't say enough great things about the camera. Google really knows what they're doing with both the camera and the camera app. Even in extremely dark settings you can get a good picture if your subject is still and you can keep your phone still while shooting. This phone doesn't have wireless charging but it does charge quickly with the ... I love me some USB-C.The phone ships with Android 9, I'm running an Android 10-based custom ROM, my wife's has Android 11, and it's supposed to get Android 12 per Google's 3 version upgrade promise. My favorite thing about this phone (and the only real reason I got it to begin with) is that it doesn't have a stupid notch. There's no way to glorify/justify a chunk of the screen not being part of the screen. IDGAF about having a bezel on my phone if it means that my display is unimpeded.Lastly, my wife got one of these and its wireless kept disconnecting despite running every firmware and software update. Even though Microcenter says there are no returns on phones you *can* return a defective product. She took it in and was ready to argue but they gave her no grief at all and promptly exchanged it and now I'm back to happy wife/happy life.
My daughter has a Google Pixel 3a phone. She recently took some pictures on our vacation and sent them to me. There were amazing! I asked if she had Photoshopped them or enhanced them. She said, "Nope, they are straight out of the phone." So, I bought a Google Pixel 3a XL phone. It's got a great camera! I was formerly taking pictures with an older former-top-of-the-line Canon EOS 5D digital camera with a red ring lens ($3000 new), and this Pixel 3a XL phone takes better pictures. It has a better depth of field, and it does HDR type processing to lighten up the dark areas and darken the light areas for a more uniform exposure. See my lattice apple pie pictures and car pictures for sample Pixel 3a XL photos. The Google Pixel 6 phone/camera is available now, but for a ... MoreMy daughter has a Google Pixel 3a phone.
