I've had this phone for almost 3 years now and I'm worried my next one will be a downgrade. My last phone was an og pixel that I also loved. It was hard to get over the missing finger print scanner at first but I haven't had many issues with face unlock. I've mostly used it in a Google case with no screen protector and have dropped it so many times. Last year was the first time I managed to damage it by dropping it on concrete and it was limited to only a crack in the corner that I barely notice. The screen feels great and is very responsive. When I do take it out of the case, I realize how much I miss the feel of the glass back. Although the glass feels nice, I think this is why they're are so many reviews saying it's a fragile phone. If you're careful and use a case when your know you'll be dumb, you can make it last. Battery life could be better but I've learned to manage it by using battery saver whenever I need it to last. Still going strong after all this time. I'm not sure when I'll upgrade.

The camera is decent. That's where the positives end. The phone is very fragile when compared to other smartphones, it's came apart several times in the life of this phone. Sometimes you can get the phone cheap, but it should be a lot cheaper for what it actually is. It's a super cheap phone in a slightly nicer looking case billed as a high mid-range phone. The phone speakers are absolutely atrocious. The battery life is probably the worst I've ever experienced in any phone, it's astoundingly bad. I got a sweet deal on this phone so I figured I would try it, if I could go back I would have paid double price for any other phone.Unfortunately I've heard the same from the newer pixel phones although I don't own one of those and I never plan on it. A start-out decent and quickly go downhill.Do yourself a favor and get a phone from a different brand, Google does a lot of things well, the pixel is not one of them.

If you are looking for a great, expensive paper wight then I have the thing for you! Pixel 4xl! The most expensive garbage phone on the market, number 2 behind the iphone. Seriously, I haven't even had this phone for a year. I have needed to replace it 3 times already, all due to various technical problems with the product. First it wouldn't read out the correct battery percentage past 50 percent and would die randomly, then it wouldn't charge at all. The replacement didn't even have a working camera, which I dealt with for the 2 or so months I had it, before it started crashing every other app on the phone, then the next one suddenly stopped showing me half the screen(I did not drop it or crack the screen!) And wouldnt show me anything even though I could still ... MoreIf you are looking for a great, expensive paper wight then I have the thing for you! Pixel 4xl! It's garbage, and full of problems.. if I have to replace this one again i will simply have to take the hit on the money and get another phone. I certainly won't be getting another one either way.

I was a huge lover of Google the company. And the first Google phone I got was a Google pixel XL. I cherished that thing and loved it so much... Only to have it die in its sleep a year later... I put it on the charger before I went to bed and was just using it the night before, then the next morning I went to check my notifications and the device felt ice cold and was showing no signs of life. I was heartbroken. I even tried putting it on the charger that I have in my car thinking that maybe the charger was bad. So to replace my Google pixel XL my father got me the Google pixel 4. I was so excited to have an upgraded version of the Google phone. I loved it so much, even more than what I loved the Google pixel XL. But then a year passes and the Google pixel 4 does the exact same thing the Google pixel XL did for me. Mind you I got these phones from two separate Verizon stores. The Google pixel 4 I even checked the night before and it showed it's battery life was at 100%. I rolled over and went to sleep and woke up to a phone that died in it's sleep again. I have come to the conclusion that Google is just the Android version of iPhones..... THEY ARE NOT BUILT TO LAST! And it was an absolute waste of our money...

A very fragile phone
7 October 2021

This is the most fragile phone I've ever owned. Throughout my life I've owned phones by Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, and now Google. They've all held up very well. I can be a little tough on my phones. I carry them in my back pocket at work and like to go running, bike riding, and hiking and I've never had a problem with a phone breaking before. I've had a cracked screen or 2, but I've never had one just die on my before. That changed when I bought this phone. I've had to take to be repaired 3 times now and it just completely died on me after dropping it from about 2 feet from the ground. The first time the touch screen got pushed in and it kept registering that something was pressing the screen in the center. The 2nd time the ear piece went out on me and I couldn't ... MoreThis is the most fragile phone I've ever owned. Throughout my life I've owned phones by Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, and now Google. The first time the touch screen got pushed in and it kept registering that something was pressing the screen in the center. The 2nd time the ear piece went out on me and I couldn't hear anyone during phone conversations. Now the it just completely died on me after being dropped. I've only had this phone for 5 months and it's consistently having problems. Buyer beware, this phone is fragile. It also consistenly has a hard time staying connecting to the 5G network and switches between the LTE and 5G. I get caught on "black holes" in terms of connectivity where it simply cannot connect to any network and tells me I'm offline. I live in the city so I know I'm not out of range of the network and I did not have that problem with any other phone I've owned and I've lived in my current place for 9 years. I cannot recommend this phone based on my experiences.

This is the previous version before the Google Pixel 4a. There are a number of differences between the two models. This model does not support a finger print sensor, but it does support facial recognition. The processor on the Google 4 supports a super fast refresh rate and a very smooth touch screen. This phone is a nice comfortable size and fits into your pocket a treat.
