Digital and Program effects, exposure automatic and manual, manual focus, steady shot, IR night shot and more are default for instant use but fully accessible for the picky Director of Photography demanding discreet manual adjustments. For ghost-hunters and Cheater-catchers the Night-Shot is still amazing at full-in zoom. See my continuous recording of time-lapse for 15 day/night duration (using D-160 data tapes) to witness the amazing ability to capture and track exposure through day, twilight and night utilizing the Color Slow Shutter - daylight isn't over-blown and there are details in the nighttime shadows as well - astounding. Mechanical Drawbacks - twice during two-week time-lapse filming the camera was heard to hiss as it fried the tiny button fuses, both after several months of continuous 30 second power cycling of the time-lapse, The fuses are inexpensive but replacement requires a complete disassembly to access the motherboard behind the LCD flip panel. The most reported failure is tape transport load/eject - don't leave tapes loaded long term or during storage and keep all those tiny screws tight - and check the trv350 dot angelfire dot com site for the percussive maintenance of last resort to get this great HandyCam running again! Compared to other equipment I film with, the camera is robust, having stood up to touristy neck strap related collisions and trip/falls as well as lower cost of ownership, repair and maintenance, with the most rapid return to service. Recording Drawbacks - because of the nature of the digital processing, some features preempt others, such as recording in 16:9 720p uses the over-scan image area which steady-shot also samples to stabilize the image so the 16:9 setting temporarily overrides steady-shot. Other digital conflicts allow only one effect at a time, and exposure conflicts can preempt other exposure settings. Most settings are retained at power down while many manual menu settings can be reset by changing mode from tape camera to digital or VCR. The tape heads spinning more than five minutes will power them down which which helps prevent tape burn but also wipes the efforts of setting up a complex shot - to avoid that frustration just tap the red record button twice during set-up to reset the timer, 3D - Using the InfraRed Commander remote has allowed me to synchronize the cameras side by side for excellent snapshots and filming in 3D. Set both zoom out to wide and turn off auto focus helps to avoid image discrepancy. When the clock is properly set, the time-stamp and iris/exposure are digitally encoded in the data stream of the Digital8 tape recording, not on the image. This allows the playback viewer to toggle the time/date display on and off. Editing alters that time-stamp, so the recording can be admitted as evidence because edits are easily discernible. Relative to other formats, the Digital8 media can be both high quality and inexpensive. Entire movies captured with these cameras have been exhibited in theaters, and even fooled experts into believing the negative was on film by using the Flash digital effect or sepia and slim Picture effects. I like the 16:9 format through a letterbox matte with Slim Picture Effect which convinces folks I've used a Todd-AO anamorphic lens for Ultra-Wide Screen filming. I carry iPad and iPhone and this camera. iOS zooms by cropping which degrades the image, but zoom in to a planet at night with this camera and the crescent is sharp. My father was a cinematographer and taught me to always be handy to instantly capture the action, from the momentary mildly intresting to the firetruck approaching. With iOS I get the firetruck leaving, but with the TRV350 I zoom in as it approaches, zoom out to full frame as it passes and tighten in to a fade in the distance. This camera makes me a one-man pro news crew. I'll gift you plenty of mattes, frames and backgrounds as well as teach you to make them at trv350 dot angelfire dot com download over 200 individually or grab the .zip archive and load them onto your Memory Stick. For planned production and candid capture the TRV-DCR350 is my go-to workhorse.

I love this little camera. So easy and convenient. I’ve taken it snowboarding, white water rafting, tubing, hiking. It’s so small and lightweight, and the quality is actually pretty good. I don’t like, however, the app you have to use to download and edit your videos. It’s not easy or convenient. It’s actually kind of a hassle. If they could just fix that, they’d have the perfect camera app duo.

My husband bought the GoPro last April when we lived in Mexico. It was for taking some videos of our trips around the country. The video quality is just phenomenal. Colors, lights everything is stunning. The GoPro allows you to take pictures in places that some cameras can’t like in water. It is very handy when you want to take pictures of record something quickly. It has 5K which is great for creating high quality videos. He loved it !

The GoPro Hero 7 Black is the perfect camera for adventure seekers and vloggers alike. I recently purchased this camera and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The image stabilization is outstanding, making it easy to capture smooth, professional-looking footage no matter what activity I'm doing. The HyperSmooth feature is a game-changer, making even the bumpiest rides look like they were shot with a steadycam. The camera's waterproof design is also a huge plus, as I can take it on all my water-based activities without worrying about it getting damaged. Plus, with the ability to shoot in 4K at 60fps, I can capture stunning footage that looks incredible on any screen. Overall, I highly recommend the GoPro Hero 7 Black to anyone in the market for an action camera. Its impressive image stabilization, waterproof design, and user-friendly interface make it a must-have for adventurers and vloggers alike. 5 stars all around!
I love my go pro. It has been great to take traveling to get footage on any adventure. I never worry about it getting wet or damaged because it is built for the elements. I have gotten some great shots on this thing. The only downside I have found (which there may be ways around that I have not yet figured out) is that it is hard to get good video quality if there is poor lighting and there isn’t any way to zoom on the camera. The battery runs out pretty quickly but carrying additional battery packs solves this. Overall great purchase
The GoPro Hero Session Action Camera is awesome. Setting up the camera was simple and file transfers features was easy. We purchased this camera for a Hawaii vacation. I've used this waterproof gopro underwater when snorkeling to capture still photos and high quality videos. The underwater photos and videos were clear and defined. It records up to 2 hous of video charges quickly. There is a slight delay on capturing still shots. I highly recommend getting a sd memory card with plenty of space. This camera is so versatile but does not do well in low lit environments as it does not have flash capabilities. The are several attachments available which are sold separately which allows for versatile and handsfree use. I highly recommend this camera for sports, outdoor activities and I've also used it as a dash cam. This small compact camera is impressive and has a clear touch screen and packs alot of power. It has a USB charging port that doesn't take long to charge. The software could use an update but its not bad. This camera does get hot when used for long periods of time. Although compact, this gopro can withstand a wide range of elements. There are different modes such as zooming in and out which are easy to control. It has Bluetooth capabilities and a wind noise reduction microphone to capture clear audio during windy activities. Advanced sharing options make vital easy to share files. Its one of the best cameras I own. This action camera is a great addition for any active person who wants capture memorieson the go...... I'd recommend getting an extra battery to have as a back up. There is an option for cloud memory with subscription but haven't used the services. This 4k camera has live streaming abilities which I haven't used yet. Its performance and ease of handling meets my needs. Its build is tough as I have dropped this camera on many occasions. I haven't tried any other action cam so I cannot compare it with anything else. There is a flashlight attachment that is sold separately that may improve its capture capability in low lit environments.
First GoPro ever purchased. At first I used iPhone for recording videos but the stabilization wasn’t great and felt shaky while watching them. But after I got Go Pro the video quality improved drastically and the video quality feels smooth while watching it since the stabilization is awesome. Battery lasts about a hour, wish it could last a little longer. Image quality is great. Overall happy with the purchase.
This was a huge improvement from my Hero 4. The picture quality is great and it has a lot of different options. I use it for both my YouTube videos as well as filmmaking. I am not brave enough to test out its waterproof capabilities (without the case), but i am sure that it will work as advertised. It does eat batteries a bit quickly, and i recommend ordering at least 1 extra. The GoPro App seems to work well, although i don't use it much. I'm a big fan of GoPro. Its a game changer for me.
The Hero 7 Black is a must-have for anyone who seeks adventure in their lives and wants to document those adventures!! It's small and easy to take anywhere and it's built for adventure, so there's no need to worry about ruining a regular camera. I've used mine while kayaking, flying through the forest ziplining, and whitewater rafting on the Gauley River in WV. I also use it for non-adventure shots during my travels like selfies and cool wide angle shots that I can't get with a regular camera. This is my second GoPro. My first was the Hero 4 Silver and the 7 Black has come a long way since then. My 4 still works just fine, but I wanted to get the 7 because of the awesome features that they've added. The big one is the HyperSmooth Video Stabilization, which is amazing. The video is as smooth as butter without having to use a gimbal. No more shaky footage. The SuperPhoto setting for photos is awesome too. The camera does all the work for you and makes the photos look the best they possibly can be by analyzing the photo and applying enhancements. There's no need for filters or editing the photos on the computer afterwards. I've been very impressed with some of the photos I've gotten with this mode on. I would recommend getting an extra battery or two because with all this fancy stuff, the battery can get drained more quickly, especially when using the WiFi with the Smart Remote (which I also recommend because it makes controlling the camera sooo much easier).I thought the 4 was cool, but the Hero 7 Black is so much more advanced and the quality of the video and photos blows the 4 out of the water. I can't wait to use it again on my next outdoor and travel adventures!!
This camera is phenomenal! Smoothest stabilization I've ever seen in a video camera. You have to work hard to make this camera give shaky videos (you can turn off the stabilization). Colors are accurate. The 3 levels of wide angles insure captures of a subject's surroundings. The linear wide eliminates the inward upper and lower "bends" while gathering a wide FOV. There is a zoom feature that cannot be adjusted while capturing. It more or less helps with getting a little closer in the FOV. I'm totally OK with this! App interface works flawlessly, allowing complete remote control and real time monitoring on my Samsung A51. The audio captures are better than most action cams but doesn't come to par until you use the optional usb mic adapter and a good quality mic. ... MoreThis camera is phenomenal! The audio captures are better than most action cams but doesn't come to par until you use the optional usb mic adapter and a good quality mic. Resolutions range from 720p to 4K. I keep mine at 1080p, 60fps, due to post processing on my system (faster). Results are fantastic. One of the simplest and best features is the ability to begin captures while power is off by pressing the shutter button, It records until the shutter button is pressed again, at which time the camera powers off. I've had a battery last all day for this! You can expect 30 minutes continuous power on, recording, depending on resolution, fps, monitoring, etc. 2nd party batteries are plentiful. I keep 4 fresh charged batteries on a shoot. This camera as is, with all access covers (battery/sd card, USB/HDMI) are secured, will work under 10' of water before needing an additional housing. I've never tried dipping mine but I gave used it in pouring rain with no problems. I tend to "over-research" before making an online purchase. This one paid off. My biggest issue after dealing with video equipment since 1971 was STABILIZATION. All promotions on this camera promised this to me. Promise kept! It was actually YouTube stars like Robert Morales (Traveling Robert), Adam Williams (the Woo) and the likes of "Jacob, the Carpetbagger" that sold me on this little gem. There were newer GoPro Hero models available, the 8 and 9 Blacks, but didn't have anything better (for me) to justify spending more money. I know the difference between the budget-minded brands and GoPro. I bought a Cooau 4K action cam ($60) several months earlier. It has become a permanent dash cam mounted behind the rear view mirror! Perfect! The accompanying still are captures from a 1080p, 60fps video. This camera is capable of much higher quality stills.
