Very well built and very High qualityvery efficient - cooks perfect pizzas with unbelievable flames!!!and most importantly a lot of fun!! You will make the best pizza parties ever!!2 tips - in order to preserve woods you could start the roccbox on the gas burner until it reaches temperature and then switch to wood burner.Another tip - you could start with charcoal in order to keep a base and constant temperature and add hard woods just before adding the pizza in order to get the amazing flames.Simply one of my best purchases ever! Along with the roccbox! Thanks Gozney!

I have tried the wood burner 2.0. to reach decent temperature you need to constantly feed the wood burner at the rate of one feed per 4 minutes. As soon as the flame disappear inside the Roccbox you need to feed the wood burner. Use only hard wood, soft wood will require constant feeding. Yes I can and will take that with me for a picnic outdoor and i will take enough dry hardwood to cook several pizza in the Roccbox. Once you know what it is require it is up to you to use it or not. By the way, it is easier to use the wood burner than to carry a 20 LBS propane tank.

An excellent addition if, like me, you order an incompatible gas burner reducer. This thing will save your ass. A little smaller in volume, but if you use the right dry and firewood, it makes up for it.

I was super excited to finally be able to use the wood burning heat source on the Roccbox since the original one was way too small for any realistic use.The 2.0 hopper is an improvement but it feels like it needs to be about 50% bigger still. I wish the tool they provided was also a little set of tongs since you have to move the wood around in that box when you want to add more or to move the coals around. Also, make sure you have lots of pre-cut pieces of hard wood handy since you'll go through 1/4 shoebox's worth for the job.It takes about an hour of active monitoring to get to 330C which was just about perfect for the pizzas I was making. However, on a nice day with friends hanging out it would be a great way to enjoy some drinks and chat while the oven heats up.

It was no fun to use, I had messed up my order and the Gas burner had to be switched for a different version. I was left with the wood burner to remedy the situation...I had only ordered it to mess around when feeling adventurous and it is perfectly fine for that - but when one needs to cook for 8 people its a tragedy. Outside temperature was about -2C, (3 different cooks, was about +5 the other times, not much of a difference) it took 2 hours of continuously adding wood every 5 minutes to reach 380C. Thats when the actual hassle started - prepping the pizzas and baking while playing with wood again in 5min cycles. Pizzas were of course great, everyone loved them but only a masochist would do this again. The burner is inefficient and difficult to use, although I made sure to follow all guidelines and proper wood. I find the size increase of 25% insufficient, perhaps a bigger burn area would help? I really dont know - but one thing is sure, I am going to only use it when there is nothing mission critical like German schedule on Xmas.

I do like this extra facility, but I bought it as a secondary heat source, in case gas prices go through the roof and also if you run out and can't get hold of any gas. The wood burner I'd good, but the capacity is pretty small so make sure you have plenty of wood ready to keep feeding it. Once up to optimum temperature it behaves just like the gas and tastes more or less the same, maybe an extra bit of smokiness from the wood. But like I said, it's the 2nd option, as the gas is so much more convenient

Ordered on a whim because i have been looking at these for some time and comparing this with the Ooni oven also. I decided after all the reviews i would buy this.I purchased the wood fired attachment also and some wood.On the first go i made sure i cleaned the inside as it was a little bit gritty on the stone. I started this off and heated it up using the gas burner which was very easy to ignite. I then switched to wood by simply turning the gas unit and pulling downward (don't try this with out gloves or if you are not very confident in doing so), fitted the preloaded wood burner that i prepared earlier and put in a fire lighter. This took no time to get going and i find this gets hotter burning wood rather than the gas. There is a fair amount of soot that generates on the front panel and could do with a baffle plate to help stop this (when you make one Gozney stick one in the post to me FOC for giving you the idea). once up to about 275°c i put in a pizza using the peel supplied which was well floured. it slid off nice and easy.I suppose 45 seconds has passed whilst i stood there gazing into the oven when i realised that it needed to be turned, this was fairly simple with the standard peel but would be easier with the turning peel. Total cooking time of 90 - 120 seconds. This was the best pizza i have had outside of New York when we went to Juliana's (look it up the best pizza in Brooklyn).Well we made some great margarita and pepperoni pizza on the first use nothing to taxing and then a lemon pizza for dessert yes lemon ( saw Gorden Ramsey do it) it was great. These are fairly expensive over some of the other ovens but they do look good i brought the green. Also they have fold in legs and come with a carry strap for transportation. Looking at getting the storage bag next unless Gozney send me one for such a genuine positive review of a fab pizza ovenS.Connelly

I love that I can have woodfired pizza. I love that I don’t have to take a gas bottle so it makes the Roccbox more portable. Unfortunately it takes a lot of working to keep feeding the fire and along with cooking a pizza it is all very rushed and stopped me enjoying the whole experience. The burner fills quite quickly with ash and it isn’t possible to empty it. I will keep the wood burner for back up but probably won’t use it very often.

Have to cut the wood too small smashed a couple of fingers rendering wood to size. Still too many ashes to to cook any more than a couple of pizzas at a time with out empty tray and starting over. Also tried using coal but couldn’t get it to light. Besides this i do love the Rockbox cook all kinds of great stuff with the gas.
