Easy to apply with no need to apply heat for protection. Other waterproof products I have used have required heat to for them to seal and cant be used on some clothing. Another concern was the smell of some of the others. This product has no real aroma and does not require heat to seal. Will buy it again as needed, Might try it on the tent also.

Making sure to follow the instructions, I applied this product and it worked as advertised. Restored water repellency to my gear. Comparatively with other products I have tried it has worked the best. Also, this method of application is the safest in my opinion. Yes, you do need to be more careful/meticulous in high wear areas to make sure the product is taken /enough. But with a bit of practice , its just better.

I picked this up with the associated tech wash to care for a goretex jacket. So far I've done a couple applications of it - the first I applied it and allowed to air dry. This worked OK, but I found the coverage streaky and kind of messy.The second time, I sprayed the jacket all over, put the jacket in the dryer on medium and it made a huge difference. Beads water like new, and seems to be covered throughout.Unless there's some part of your garment that shouldn't be treated, or the garment cannot go in the dryer, I think an in-wash treatment would be more uniform and much cleaner.

Just recently my older Chugach jack started to wet out while out in a heavy rain storm and no longer kept me dry. I stopped into the Dixon showroom to see if there was anything that could be done for this and the lady there was extremely helpful and recommended this product. After following the directions I could not believe how much my jacket soaked it up and dried fairly quickly. Unfortunately I have not been out in any heavy storms to test it but I did hit it with a spray bottle of water and you could see the water bead up and roll off.
When I first started buying higher end performance gear I figured that I had already spent enough money of the jacket / pants and that they should therefore be more resilient. I now appreciate the importance of routine tlc - to get sustained performance routine waterproofing and washing is a must. THIS HELPS.
My winter hiking boots, I use for snow shoeing started letting in moisture so I bought the Performance Repel. I sprayed it on last week and have worn the boots twice for 3 hours each time in the snow-dry socks! I liked that the choice is air dry or put garnet in the dryer- I washed my hubby’s gortex ski jacket & pants-sprayed, wiped excess, put in dryer, and they look like new. I have used this spray on these garnets twice a year for the last two years. Works great!
My 1st showers pass jacket has been with me for 7 yrs. It was the best. It has been with me through rain, sleet and hail. It survived a crash 2 yrs ago, but sustained some holes. I purchased Grangers Performance Wash and Performance Spray a few months ago and treated my jacket with care. It STILL ticks! I since have bought a new SP jacket, but my first pick is my old one. She still has a bit of protection left in her.
We tried Grangers 2 in 1 which promised to wash and reproof Gore tex. it singularly failed to do so, despite the instructions being followed to the letter. THIS is much better. It washes better and the reproofing appears to have been successful (a pint of water poured over the jacket beads in that satisfying manner and not a drop came through over the space of an hour). However, it is not perfect. A single bottle is barely enough to fully spray one single jacket; If you use it liberally, intending to do the job well and thoroughly, I would say it isnt. We used 3 lots to do 2 jackets (large). The spray nozzle seems to have only 2 settings (open or closed) so the liquid comes out like a water pistol, not a deoderant, and there is noticeable wastage. The stuff is chemically powerful and probably not something you want to be exposed to often or for long, so in order to do this you need to go outside, hang it up or lay it flat and spray it fully. A 5 minute operation paying attention to seams and obvious areas of wear or stress. Dont try to save time and money with the all in one formula - it doesnt work. One final point: the process is expensive. To thoroughly treat 2 jackets cost around 37 (Performance Plus wash, then 3 x performance plus waterproofer). Given new Gore Tex jackets can now be had for under 100 this seems quite steep, particularly as we wasted an additional 15 on the 2 in 1 which did not work at all. Realistically Gore Tex (and other similar alternatives) have a lifespan. Possibly 2-3 years, if used constantly, but probably less if even a slight shelving off of performance bothers you. From an avoiding hassle viewpoint it may make more sense to buy a jacket, wear it until it starts to let in water and simply buy a new one. Whats that you say? Bad for the environment? What do you imagine is going on with all these chemicals? 20% went into the ground or down the drain. Are the jackets as good as new? I wouldnt go quite that far..
