Greenies Catnip Feline Dental Cat Treats - 130g

Got to try these Feline Greenies dental treats with my cat, Roxy. I was expecting her to really like this product...specially with catnip flavors and it didnt dissapoint at all! Great product, she loved them and she seems to really like that crunch feeling too. They are said to be great for your kitty's oral hygiene and I have no doubt about that claim. No more kitty breath woohoo! You can give these treats more often than most brands out there which is really nice for your cat. I recommend this product to any cat parent out there looking to spoil their furballs and giving a good oral hygiene at the same time.

So our cat’s breath stinks when he yawns but I can assure you that after a few of these, his breath becomes neutral. also my cat hates brushing his teeth so giving him a couple of these really makes in between brushes dental care easy for us. when you just shake the bag, he comes running so I think that says it all. He has to take 14 full breaths while wearing the mask piece before he's released from his light hold spot on our kitchen counter. At first he was very resistant (as you can imagine...), but we quickly learned that the best way to make this as easy and less traumatic as possible (he's had traumatic vet visits and is very fearful of being restrained) is to give him a treat afterwards to reward him for his good behaviour and cooperation. As a result, every night around 9pm he has his cute little routine of meowing and rolling around next to the cabinet where we keep the treats. He knows the routine and he's looking forward to his treat! 😊 However, if you've had multiple cats at once you'll know what that means lol The other 3 cats are also in the kitchen waiting for a treat! There's no way to avoid breaking their hearts if we were to only give him a treat and not the others... so they each get one (or 2 if my husband is doing it) after the inhaler has been done. Obviously, 4+ treats per day means that the bags are too expensive and get emptied quickly. So we've been buying the 9.75 oz value size tubs from Amazon which is cheaper overall, more convenient and less wasteful, but the treats still kind of dry out over time because the seal of the top isn't... well, sealed. That's why I removed a star. I like that they're not too moist or slimy (they don't rot or get sticky), they're small (but not too small either, can be used with teenage kittens), and they don't smell horrible (I still wash my hands afterwards because it's not a pleasant smell to constantly have on your hands). The catnip flavour is a favourite, but the salmon one is a good one too. Chicken wasn't well liked. However, I wish that the label was removable instead of printed on. They're great sized containers that I'd like to reuse, but I haven't found any way to remove the label. It would be a plus in my opinion of the company as it would show a bit more that they care about the environment and encourage reusing their packaging. The small size of the bags are wasteful in my opinion since they go straight to the trash once empty. Last note: I just noticed that they recommend 8 treats twice a day for a 10 lbs cat. That's ridiculous. They're marketed as dental treats, but I don't think they're big enough to do any cleaning. At that rate their nutritional intake is going to be highly negatively impacted while maybe getting a slight gum/teeth stimulation. I don't recommend that, especially if you already feed your cat dry food. Also, one of my cats swallows it whole 98% of the time, so it's not necessarily good for all cats. I suggest buying a small pouch to try it out first.

Best Cat Treats!

My little demon cat LUVS these things. The cute little valentines heart is a sticker that comes off fyi (I put it on her cat treat container and it’s super cute:). I’m so glad I took a chance on the greenies cat treats even tho they are a little pricey and I was skeptical that they would actually work. Not only does my cat go nuts for them, they actually do help! They’re bigger than other cat treats so I hear her crunching them vs inhaling them like she does with most cat treats. Plus they have better ingredients than cheaper treats (chicken meal is the no.1 ingredient vs chicken byproduct in temptations). I really can’t say enough good stuff about these treats- worth every penny knowing I’m giving my cat something she luvs while doing something good for her teeth:):):)

Caused intestinal blockage

A couple weeks after starting these treats both my cats got extremely constipated. They've never had that problem in the past- they stay hydrated and have a high fiber diet. I fed less than the recommended daily amount. My younger cat was able to pass everything with some laxatives but my older cat had to go to the vet several times and eventually had a procedure to clear up his intestines. Don't use these- it's not worth it. They don't even really do much for their teeth. Just brush your cats teeth instead.

Changed our cats anxious personality completely!

We originally bought these Catnip Greenies for our cats to assist them with teeth & gum health. An unexpected good side effect is that the catnip has had another positive side effect on one of our cats well being. Jemima has always had an unusual personality- she was quite cranky and did not like to be touched at all. She seemed to want to be stroked as she would purr but would very quickly bite whoever was stroking her. We just accepted that was her and put it down to early trauma as she was a stray & skinny kitten when we found her at 3 months old. She is now four years old and has always been like this - until the catnip Greenies! The catnip Greenies have completely changed her personality! So, I highly recommend anyone whose cat is a little anxious (or weirdly bites!) to give them a try - she’s clearly much happier and now gets to enjoy cuddles!

Great but buy them in store, don't order onlin

My cats absolutely love these treats and wait for them every night. In my attempt to cut the cord with Amazon, I joined Walmart plus. I was so excited the treats were gonna ship pretty fast. Then I received the delayed email, okay one day we can do this. I received the treats and opened the bag to find crushed plastic mixed with a bag of treats. Okay had this happen with Amazon food. No big deal I start a return to find I have to drive this back to Fed Ex they will charge my card again I will get a replacement in 3 days. when they receive the product I will get a refund. Seriously in the trash they went. I cant feed my fur babies contaminated plastic filled treats. Learning the importance of cat dental care I wanted to give them the best advantage for healthy teeth and help avoid extensive dental work. I researched how dental treats work and which ones were recommended by veterinarians and other animal professionals. I found that dental treats include ingredients that help dissolve plaque and tartar like calcium and phosphorus, as well as scrub the tooth surface like fiber. Greenies Dental Treats were highly rated and while all flavors are good I chose Catnip flavor because it's a balanced food source too. Dental treats aren't like other treats--a 10 lb. cat needs to eat 6 to 8 twice a day for the best effect, so these are a great deal. Oh, and my cats love them--I make it fun and they chase them around the kitchen.

Two happy twins

I have a 1.5 year old male Seal Point Siamese cat, Frankie. My best friend, who is also my aide, has his slightly bigger twin brother. She brings her cat often when she comes to work during the week so we can keep the boys bonded & close. The boys love to snuggle, play & of course have treats. We haven't tried or use greenies brand prior to this package, but the idea of low calorie dental treats made me very excited. My boy is like my child so I like him to have the best I can afford to keep him healthy. Same for his brother, we use identical products, so in both of our homes they feel comfortable. I was excited to see how they'd react/respond to a different treat then their usual. They came running when I shook the package & I allowed them both to sniff it. Daily now, they each get two treats after my friend & Loki arrive. It's a new part of our morning routine that they really are excited for. They liked the treats after the first one & have had no digestive or issues after eating them. I love that they help with dental health! Small treats, strong shrimp scent & two very happy twins!
