The wonderful, natural hollowbody sound. Made clearer than ever. The Gretsch G5622T Electromatic CB brings all of the resonant, acoustic warmth that has made the hollowbody guitar a fixture in popular music for decades. But with modern day clarity - a centreblock running through the G5622T's body eliminates feedback, ensuring your signal is always crystal clear. This is totally pure sound.Sound quality is nothing without power, though. So it's a good job Gretsch have loaded the G5622T with a pair of electrifying Broad'Tron pickups. Performing supremely well at high volumes, they cover a huge range of tones - you'll never be limited in what you can play. There's even a classic Bigsby tremolo to give your lead lines a unique edge. This is one guitar you'll never tire of playing. Or hearing.

Having previously owned a Gretsch Streamliner I was interested in upscaling to the Electromatic range. I particularly wanted a centre block guitar as it will contrast with my other full hollow body instruments whilst I was lacking a guitar with a Bigsby so this ticked all the boxes. What I wasn't expecting was how the Broadtron pickups would sound through my amp (a Fender Delux Reverb) in that it will overdrive at low volumes which usually play clean for my other guitars. This was a surprise of the pleasant kind!It is a really good all rounder regardless of what type of music you wish to use this for.Would happily recommend.

Went to one Guitar center store twice that sucked. No customer service.. Salesmen coulldnt even qualify as clerks!! Drove down to Fairlawn was treated like they were glad I was there. They set me up an amp gave me a chord and I started trying out guitars. I never owned a Gretsch., but decided on an orange 5622t. Guitar is awesome. I'm a Gibson and Guild man. My old guitars ( like me) are pretty rare and don't want to take them out on gigsThis Gretsch plays and sounds like a million bucks. I brought it in today for some adjustments and John the manager took care of me right away. 5 stars for Fairlawn Ohio store. A big 0 for N. Olmsted store.

I was not looking, but came across the Electromatic line at my local Guitar Center. I played it for about an hour in the store, thought about it for a while, and then bought the Georgia Green G5622T. I just couldn't make myself walk away, even though I had no budget for this guitar. I missed a few meals, and had to scrounge for rent money, but it was completely worth it. I replaced the stock strings with flatwound 11s, and discovered tone for days! The various combinations of pickups and switches make this guitar flexible enough to play just about anything, from jazz to heavy rock. I have not discovered a bad tone yet. This guitar wants to play clean sounds, but push it, and you will discover some great overdriven grunts and barks. Absolutely would buy it again.

Got this guitar as an addition to the collection. Been playing 20+ years, some semi-professional play. It arrives safely and was well-packaged, even though I did not get a case with it. Right out of the box, it looked beautiful. After being tuned up, it was great to play! Beautiful crisp/clean tones out of the Filter'trons. With moderate or even heavy distortion, tone remained excellent. I couldn't put the thing down and played it for several days straight, trying to "put it through its paces." IMHO, it stays in tune, sounds better, and plays better than my Gibson ES-335, at about 1/3 the price.

Do yourself a favor buy this guitar
22 February 2022

I worked with Michael Burgess on this sale and recommend him to anyone looking to find a good deal. This guitar, (my 4th Gretsch) is everything you would expect from the company. Nothing short of excellent. It's hard to believe they can deliver this quality at such a price. The guitar looks and feels fantastic. The Black tops deliver the Gretsch 'sound' but with some pushing they rock hard without losing the clarity. Do yourself a favor. Buy this guitar and at least get a gig bag to protect it. You won't regret it.

Fantastic Buy
21 January 2022

I have to say that this guitar exceeded all expectations. It came well packaged and promptly. The fit and finish was excellent with the fret ends filed down for comfort. It was almost in tune and out-of-the-box it was a gig ready guitar. The action as nice and low. I have blacktops on my two other Gretschs so sonically this guitar has the chime and still can growl with the best of them. The tuners feel good and the guitar holds tune fairly well with the generic strings and the Bigsby. The only criticism I could fine was a very small one and that's it could have some better capacitors. Over all you can't go wrong with this if you're looking for an affordable semi-hollow guitar.

Great buy!
27 June 2023

I own many guitars. I have 3 Gretsches in my collection. I bought this model a year ago and I have to say it is one excellent guitar. The neck feels and plays great and the black tops sound really, really good. It holds it's tune and rocks out when I need it to and gets mellow when that's what a session calls for. I have to have some work done on the pup switch but that's normal when a guitar gets worked hard and I tend to switch between pups constantly. Great guitar for a great price.

Horrible construction... the guitar is falling apart!
7 April 2019

Purchased this on October 17th of 2018 (under 6 months ago). Beautiful looking guitar but horrible craftsmanship. First one of the latches on the case falls off. Then the 1/4" jack input falls off so I had to make a tool out of a coat hangar to pull it back through the guitar. This past weekend, while at a show, I noticed the pickups have now fallen into the body and the screws holding them in are missing. This guitar is made in Korea... I get it, but to have this many issues in only 6 months is ridiculous. I'm a professional musician, I usually perform every weekend and this guitar is only used for a couple of songs, so it's not like it's being abused. It is just a poorly made instrument.

Real Gem , great looker , great playing guitar !

I bought two of these, one in Vintage Orange and one in Georgia Green. The orange guitar intonation was spot on. The action on it was a little high for my taste, so I lowered it to 1/16 on the treble side with 3/32 on the bass side at the twelfth fret. I lowered the bass string a couple of thousands at the nut, and tuned it up.....no buzzes or fret outs. Using the Bigsby tended to pull the guitar out of tune, until I lubed the nut with some graphite from a pencil. The Bigsby would work better with a roller bridge, the roller bridge is on the way. The Vintage orange color is very nice, the pictures are not even close to the actual appearance. The wood grain shows through, enhancing the Vintage look. The fretwork is very good, no rough ends. The only things needed as far as set up was a little fret board oil. The fretboard dried up some during storage. The two I got are the older models with the rosewood fretboard and the Super Hilo’tron pickups. I prefer them over the blacktop humbuckers offered in the latest model, and the laurel fretboard offered now. The Georgia Green one is going back to Adorama to be replaced, the neck has a very noticeable hump at the 15 fret. It had buzzing and fretting out on the treble side right out of the box. The action was noted on the setup card as being set at 1.5 mm, but it was higher than that on the Georgia Green model.....the icing on the cake was the price on these....449.00 for these guitars is a steal. Black Friday, Cyber Monday. Kudos to Adorama for making the exchange easy on the guitar with problems. On a final note, expect to replace the strings right out of the box. A good guitar setup and intonation adjustments needs a new set of strings.....the proper set up uses the word train....for the steps.... Tune. Relief Adjustment. Intonate. Noodle !

Wide Tonal range
24 July 2021

This is currently my favourite electric guitar. It has such a wide tonal range. Play soft finger style and you can get soft blues tones. Pul on the strings and it really twangs! Played with a pick you can easily push it from teang to breakup. Overall volume overall tone and two independent volumes gives great range with even small twists of the dials. Playability is great if you prefer a wider Gibson style neck. Great for sweet clean slide playing too.
