As an Aussie watching the local manufacturing sector disappear, I think it's important to support the locals if they do a decent job. Gulf Western joins Nulon and Penrite to be poured into my car's sump.Group IV oils are very expensive in Australia; GW meets the exacting standard of my cars manufacturer so I'm very happy with the cost:performance ratio of GW and being a Group V oil, it does the job for a fraction of the cost. According to GW, the oil meets the standards set by VW, BMW Long Life 04, Porsche, GM Peugeot & Citroën.On sale, the value is fantastic.

I was running Castrol 10w/30 yet i still had a valve/cam rattle (VVTi) on start up.My 04 Corolla only had 130k on the clock.I found that with money tight i couldn't afford only able to buy "5 LITES" per service with Castrol each time ( castrol DON'T do liter bottles) so each service i was always a litre or 2 short on the change.Found G.W.O.did do liter bottles as a top up & IS an Aussie company. I went FULL on Synthetic to "5"W/30 in the hopes the rattle would go? THIS oil is SUPER EFFECTIVE. no rattles any more.I'll not be using any thing else as long as this AUSSIE oil is around.

I purchased this oil as it was recommended as the main one to purchase for my 1.3L yaris by the SCA Web pages and the instore tablet. I've heard good reviews about Gulf Western but had to mechanic mate say stay away. Should have listened. As soon as I put this oil in, didn't notice any change going from Nulon 5w30 full synthetic but where the nulon would go till 10,000km this oil started dropping in quality before 2000km. By 1300 I had cold start chatter, by 1500 I had cold and warm start chatter to the point that at 1600km I dropped the oil and installed Penrite. I wouodnt bother wirh this oil, save your money on repairs. I just hope it's not caused my engine problems I will be paying for in the future. Like everyone I’m always trying to reduce service costs. Bought this oil on a really good special price. Never used it before. Engine nice and quiet on start up. Oil still clean after quite a few kilometres since service.
I bought this engine oil for my Kia cerato hatchback as a recommended 5w-30 engine oil for my car. At 1st I thought engine oil will be average compared to showroom service engine oil, but after using this engine oil, I seen a lot of difference in my engine. I drive Uber, my engine was running so smooth and I’m getting very good mileage( around I’m getting 8 to 8.9km per litre). It means engine not getting quick heat. Because when I used to give my service in Kia showroom I didn’t get mileage even 8km per litre. So, I fed up and started doing service with my known mechanic friend. He too uses this engine oil. I would recommend this engine oil, if you were daily driver. For me it’s been 7,000km since I put this engine oil. I’ve used this oil in my 2017 (DPF equipped) Mitsubishi Pajero for the last 130,000 + kms. For the first 90,000kms the oil was changed every 15,000kms as per The vehicle’s service schedule.The oil is now changed every 10,000kms, not through any noticeable need but simply because I feel that 15,000km intervals are a little too long.At 120,000kms I performed a valve adjustment and the valve train was as clean as a new engine so as far as I’m concerned this Gulf Western Euro Energy oil is great especially when it’s on special
First time I've ever driven off after an oil change and realised that the engine is running noticeably smoother on acceleration. Normally I don't comment things like that because it's often just the placebo effect, so this was a real difference. Engine is an '18 Mazda 2.0L that was in for the first 10k service and getting the original factory (break-in) oil replaced. I prefer to buy my own oil and filters because then I know that only high quality Australian-made stuff is being used. I also prefer Gulf Western Oil because they're somewhat of an underdog in the Australian lubricants industry and yet they make some world-class affordable products. Haven't used their full-synthetics much in the past but so far Euro Energy 5W-30 has proven to be a real winner.
2013 Citroen C4 1.6L no turbo engine. First time use Gulf Western oil, surprised with the smooth running and low noise, can't feel the different with the other big brands(used Mobil one, Penrite and Castrol before). Recommended.
After a dodgy mechanic supplied a non major brand 10W30 semi synthetic oil last service I decided to perform an oil change myself to best control what went into the engine. Mind you this mechanic (butcher is more appropriate) charged me like a wounded bull on the invoice!! After changing the oil I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the engine now runs (no..I am not sniffing mushrooms!) and this Australian made product is now ...the good oil!!
