Was really easy to work with and managed to get the *perfect* unnoticeable finish on my first time plastering. That is until I used zinsser bullseye sealer/primer over the top in preparation for painting. The water based sealer made the water based plaster super soft and I accidentally knocked it with my finger putting a massive dent in my art.Work carefully when using a water based sealer/primer/paint. The plaster became soft like the chocolate the kids drop in the back of the car in summer.

Bought this to patch parts of my wall where the top layer of the gyprock had come off. I forgot to use an undercoat to seal the paper already on the gyprock but it worked anyway. Had to apply two coats though because the first coat sunk in a bit when it dried. It does say it takes 24 hours to dry but I found it was hard in 12 for a thin coat. Sands easily and does not get particles into the air. On thicker coats e.g. filling a screw hole it can take longer to dry - hardening over a week or so, so I wouldn't paint over deeper fills like that too early.I wish they made this in a smaller size so small jobs like the one I did. Also the lid does have a tendency to break, so it's best to run your finger around to lift it up before trying to rip it off.
The product inside the bucket is great, leaves a smooth surface after applying it and sanding it. Sanding works without the usual dust in the air, it just falls down to the ground. On the negative: Although I have been careful the Lid cracked in multiple places along the rim when I opened the bucket, a few more cracks when I closed the lid. The Lid seems to be designed poorly and is not of a material quality you would expect. When buying this product ask for some spare lids.
Perfect for topping. I’ve previously used the Rapid plaster for smaller patching jobs, and have struggled to get a smooth finish, often with a heap of sanding required. This compound is smooth, and easy to apply and sand. There’s plenty of feedback about the lid snapping upon opening and the same happened to me though.
Pro: Simple and easy to apply, very easy to sand to a nice smooth finish. Ideal for as a top coat over large holes thats already been filled or a small hairline filler. Does take 12 hrs to dry but can sped up with heat gun or hairdryer.Cons:Only comes as a large sized tub with about 1 years expiry. I have had mine almost a year and still it's moist and bonds well.
I enjoyed results as described very easy sanding as long as you wait until fully dry. Very smooth finish and the dust falls to the floor without filling the room with a cloud of dust. Easy to work.
The product is excellent but the packaging is very poor. Specifically, the lid. It is difficult to open without cracking the lid. If the lid is cracked, you cannot seal it again and any remaining will dry out rapidly and become useless.
I recently purchased this product to use while re plastering a ceiling in an older home, I found that it went on similar to regular topping coats leaving a good smooth finish. The real difference was, when hand sanding I didn't get the usual all over body cover of plaster dust, and clean up was a breeze.
