My spouse needed new work pants. After checking our usual club store sources, which were out of stock on his preferred brand, I purchased two pair of these. How can one go wrong with an established brand like Hagar? Well, unfortunately, this purchase didn't work out. Both pants had an inseam one inch longer than specified, therefore the pants would need to be altered to fit properly on my spouse. The buttons are incredibly hard to button on not one but both pants. There is another review here that mentions this issue but I was sure it had to be a fluke. No, it's not a fluke. My spouse has some arthritis in the hands and doesn't need to be fighting the too-small button holes every day. (On his other brand work pants, there is an additional metal hook inside the waistband to supplement the button. Hagar should follow the same approach rather than try to create a super tight button to keep the pants on.)I was inclined to purchase these pants because they have a decent amount of cotton in them, which allows the texture of the pants to complement polo shirts and a "business casual" look. Too many men's pants are now made of polyester/synthetic mixes and while they wrinkle less they are also too lightweight for winter. Cotton seems to be the better year-around choice and results in a better weighted feel/look. These pants make the cut on material (good look and feel) but the fit is so far off — longer in the legs than advertised and yet conversely tighter in the waist — that they have to be returned.

This sweater pant is so soft, and beautiful. But, with the baggy fit, even going down three sizes, they were too big in the waist, and, still too long. My sister has the matching jacket for a set. She’s 6’1” and the pants covered the tops of her shoes! I wish Lane Bryant was more consistent with their sizing. Normally, I’m a 20 in pants, but the 14/16 was still too big. Rarely do I find clothes that fit by the size on the label when shopping at LB. I know being in between a 20/22 is hard, but neither sizes are to be my go-tos. It’s easier to see the clothing in person, and eyeball my size. My solution? Use spandex more. It’s easier to get a better fit, but, more importantly, you don’t have to iron the items as much after they’re washed.

At 5’11”, I loved the length, and, of course the incredible softness of the fabric. If they had these in 100 colors, I’d absolutely buy the 99 more., but in them in the 14/16 size. Because of the soft material, and loose fit, I looked like I had gained 50-100lbs. As a final sale, they’re not returnable. Prior to my purchase, I did call the Lane Bryant customer service toll free number. It was them that swayed my decision to buy, or not to buy. That was the question. In ordering, I also bought the jacket, after some discussion with the friendly representative. The jacket runs large, as well, especially in the sleeves. Together, I was asked how much weight I had gained at our quarterly luncheon. I’ve been doing a high protein diet, and have actually lost almost 55 lbs. To hear that, it saddened my heart. But, based upon how comfortable, and soft the knit was, I gave it four stars. I could really live in this material 23 hours a day, 360 days a year. An hour was taken off to bathe, and change to a new set. A few days were also chopped, as I need to be dressed fancy like on holidays, and for weddings.
