Hakubaku Organic Udon, Authentic Japanese Wheat Noodles, No Added Salt
Udon noodles are a completely unique and distinctive type of noodle known from Japanese cuisine and can be used in both cold and hot dishes. These organic udon noodles from hakubaku are made from organic wheat flour, salt and water. Japanese Udon noodles can be round, square or flat with a texture suited to more robust dishes. Try popular udon dishes such as tanuki or yaki udon. They are also perfect for stir-fries with chicken, shrimp, and fresh vegetables together with hoisin sauce. Udon can replace soba in traditional soba recipes, and some dishes even mix soba and udon noodles to provide a variety of different textures. Preparation: Cook the noodles in boiling water for 10 minutes (salt or oil is not necessary). Drain the water and rinse well with cold water. Tip: When reheating, briefly place the noodles in boiling water. The texture should be soft in the middle with a firm bite.

Repeated purchase. Udon label can be misleading. When you cook it its just like thick noodles and not as thick as udon. Super chewy noodles. Good for quick fix meals

I love these, they cook very easily and quickly and even my 5 year old daughter adores them. I cook a lot of recipes from the Fresh restaurants in Toronto and these are great for the noodles (the miso gravy is nice tossed with them). The soba are good too, I just prefer the udon.

I wish more grocery stores would carry this. It can be a bit pricy in the specialy stores. But jet had a decent price. I was worried the noodles would arrive broken but was pleased they didn't. They come divided into sensible portions and cook in about 4-5 minutes in boiling water. They can be a bit starchy so I recommend rinsing them after boiling. They have a rich flavor (they are wheat) and a chewy texture. Carefull they are addictive! You can eat them a plethera of ways but I usually like them mixed with my favorite asian sauces or also in stir fry. I like that they are organic and healthier than many packaged noodles
Pretty good organic noodles. Not as large and chewy as real Japanese Udon, though, but you can make a lot of dishes with these.
I use these as quick cooking noodles. Ready to eat after only a few minutes in hot simmering or boiling water or broth. Nice body & texture, and mild wheat taste, no salt. Good addition to flavorful mushroom & onion spaghetti sauce. Add cooked noodles to tuna or chicken salad for a heartier meal. Delicate when cooked, but won't fall apart unless overcooked. Nutritious and organic.
