i love this package set. I sent it as a gift for my oldest and she has yet to put a book fown. I haven't seen her read this much since 1st grade. And waiting till the price dropped as low as it did, helped my budget stay on track. Thank You Walmart!

These are high quality edition books in a trim and fun little suitcase. I think it's charming. If you think about it, $150 for seven books puts each book at just over $20. And then you add the attractive, eye-catching packaging, and it's a good deal for the set. Mine arrived well packaged and was undamaged when extracting from the box. Target took care of this shipment. I disagree with the other reviewer in that what would you have the suitcase constructed of? Wood? Do you realize how much more expensive this would be? Maybe $300? And then if you wanted to stow this on a bookshelf for others to see, the case would scratch the shelf up by scraping over it. I say if you prefer a wooden suitcase, construct one yourself. This is affordable and a fair price.

I could not wait until this last installment of the Harry Potter series finally hit the shelves. I reserved my copy months in advance at my local Walden Books store. I even started counting down the days until its release. Yet once I had the book in my hands, I felt a mixture of excitement, anticipation and regret. After all these years of waiting for the next installment, ever since I finished the first book, I was finally going to read my last Harry Potter book. I could not wait to find out how Harry, Hermione, and Ron's journey would end, but I couldn't help feeling upset that, once read, it would be over. No more staying excited for the next installment to arrive. That being said, once I cracked open my crisp copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the ... No more staying excited for the next installment to arrive. That being said, once I cracked open my crisp copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the pang of regret I had felt about this being over gave way to an overwhelming happiness to be back in this wonderful world of magic J.K. Rowling created. Once I had started, it was all over. I could not stop reading. I had to force myself away from the pages to eat. Each page revealed just enough to make it a necessity to read the next. As any Harry Potter fan knows, this series is so gripping, each line begs you to read the next. Speaking of The Hallows specifically, I would have to say that it is an edge of your seat story, the most spine-tingling of the 7 book series, and Rowling wastes no timing jumping into the thick of it in the first chapters. Many chapters, I had the feeling of walking through a haunted house, every muscle tense in anticipation of the next arm-twisting details. Hallows throws twists and turns at you every few pages throughout the entire book. As it is the 7th book and the main characters are reaching maturity, the books content is much more adult in nature. There is not much more I am comfortable saying, without giving away precious pieces of the final books plots. It was a wonderfully written, emotional rollercoaster that can be ridden over and over again. After having read Book 7 twice, I am still amazed by J.K. Rowling. It is mystifying how much detail and planning went into these books. The character development, the subplots, the reference towards other epic stories written in history. Coming into the 7th installment, you would not think it possible to tie up so many tresses as Rowling did. There have also been, looking back, so many clues and hints in the previous 6 books towards the ending of this adventure. This series is a very complex story, which Rowling wrote for children; however, I would have to disagree with these being children's books. In writing the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling has inadvertently intertwined the literary worlds of child and adult. The Harry Potter series, I believe, will be on the bookshelves of child and adult alike for generations to come.

The trunk, while appearing textured, is smooth & easy to slide in & out of its storage place. With the functioning plastic lock on the front, the lid stays closed which I found to be a neat extra feature. The soft rope/cord handles on the sides are functional, too, as they can support the weight of the trunk during transport. On the lid, there's a place to personalize the trunk for the owner in a manner befitting its contents. Inside, the books are displayed neatly snug and in order without being crammed in nor left loose to jostle about, preventing damage. The trunk also has a decorative design inside for those wishing to leave it open to display the books within. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase. The hardcover books are of good quality and have cute little pictures on each chapter page, which I didn't know about having only read them via ebook before, that my kids enjoy. 10/10 would recommend!
The quality is a bit lower than I anticipated but the set is still pretty cool. The box is a sturdy cardboard box, more reinforced but it's not a wooden box type of product. There aren't a lot of stickers, about 10 stickers. The book covers are really thing so be careful handling them, but they are pretty. I also expected a few illustrations within the books, but there are only tiny grey illustrations at the beginning of each chapter. It's pricey for the quality but a cool set nonetheless.
I am truly impressed with this purchase! When these books first came out, I read them to my children. They picked apart the movies but were very excited every time a new book came out! We read these as a family and when this product was introduced, all my children wanted to get them. I think that by putting them in the chest that comes with the books, was a marvelous idea! It means that you open up a new world when you open up this chest! Thank you so much!
Unnecessarily long and drawn out. About halfway through one of the movies Ron expresses his frustration that they were supposed to be looking for horcruxes but they were now looking for the Deathly Hallows instead. "So there's some other bloody thing we're supposed to be finding, too?" or something like that. I was right there with him. That said, there are parts in the book that would have been nice in the movie. Like Harry, Ron, and Hermione discovering that Luna's bedroom walls are covered with pictures of them and the word "friends," presumably making them think twice about how they've seen and treated her in the past - a touching moment in a story that could use more humanity and less running around.
I've been looking at buying this for probably the last two years - from several different places. But I always talked myself out of it because the cardboard box was a turn off. However, it's a thicker and more sturdy cardboard than what you would usually think of. I'm so glad I bought it. I love it. And everyone I have shown it to, love it. I was able to get this while it was on sale, along with using an additional coupon code I found. Ordered it online - and was able to pick it up in less than two hours later. If I ordered it from anywhere else, I would have had to wait for it to ship to the store or directly to me. It was a no brainer! Currently on book 4 of rereading the series. Love it and so glad I got this :)
