It’s great that they brought a no added sugar version out. They are great for diabetics or someone who wants to cut down on sugar. They still taste as good as the original version, you can tastes the difference at first. But I loved them.

I received this free to review from Ocado and in some ways I'm very happy I did. Despite them being 'healthier' beans they tasted pretty good. Not quite as much taste as the regular product but certainly okay as something on the side of the plate with other food. Definitely something to consider in the future. The problem though was size. This can is massive! Using Heinz's own serving size on the side of the can this thing holds 18 servings. So the average family of 4 gets 4+ meals from this. You've really got to love beans to buy this size.

I'm not sure why this has so many positive reviews...the wife bought these in multipack by mistake...not realising they were the no added sugar version...I opened a can without realising this too...once sat down to eat these beans..thinking I was eating normal Heinz beans...I was questioning why they seemed to have no taste...like cheap beans...I'm wondering what is wrong with these beans..I've just opened my usual can! Or so I thought until I double checked the can to see they were the no added sugar version....I told the wife I won't touch the rest of the cans & either chuck em or give them away to someone. I'm a dedicated Heinz beans fan....except for these....As I said..not sure why the high marks here..but do yourself a favour if you want to try...buy one tin ... MoreI'm not sure why this has so many positive reviews...the wife bought these in multipack by mistake...not realising they were the no added sugar version...I opened a can without realising this too...once sat down to eat these beans..thinking I was eating normal Heinz beans...I was questioning why they seemed to have no taste...like cheap beans...I'm wondering what is wrong with these beans..I've just opened my usual can! Beans!
27 July 2021

Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I don't normally buy Heinz beans as we find that the own-brand M&S ones are just as good, but these were fairly indiscernible from either. I didn't notice that they tasted less sweet (although they do contain a sweetener) or as that there was a weird taste as some of the reviews on the full-size can said. All round decent beans, although not sure why you'd really bother with this more expensive half size tin!

Good beans
31 August 2020

I'm reviewing this product because I received a free sample from Ocado. This catering size tin is incredibly good value. Will keep in mind when entertaining again. Good to have an option with no sugar. Would prefer it without sweetener either. Tastes great mixed with fried onion and peppers. I've frozen portions that we warm up as needed.

Healthier beans
29 July 2021

Both my boys eat beans most days. We only used to buy Heinz but have recently been trying all brands. They seem to like them all. They have just asked me to get reduced sugar variety so good that I was sent this to review. Small tins no good for us but handy to try & both happy with these & said didn?t taste too different from usual. Good to have less sugar- will buy in future.

Horrible sweetener backtaste
3 August 2021

I seem to be disagreeing with the majority but I really disliked these beans. I was prepared for something less sweet than normal beans, maybe even sharper. I wasn't prepared for the amount of artificial sweetener in them - after the 3rd mouthful I was actually feeling quite nauseous. Not pleasant and I didn't finish them.

I hope you never make the mistake I made in accidentally purchasing these without checking the packaging, thinking I had bought the regular ones. I have tasted pieces of cardboard that taste better. The sauce has no taste and the beans themselves literally taste like corrugated cardboard. I hope Heinz make the packaging more obvious or a completely different colour instead of giving it a slight blue hue. CHECK THE PACKAGING!

Not for me
5 August 2021

I received this free gift in exchange for a review. I have to say the original Heinz beans are my favourite brand, however, the reduced sugar ones are not for me. They haven?t got the full sweet flavour the original ones have. I would rather eat a few less beans to counteract the sugar intake. might be ok for some but not for me. Will not buy again.

ugh taste of sweeteners
12 February 2022

I bought these without checking ingredients (mistake) I had assumed they would be like the normal Heinz beans except less sweet because of no sugar added. I tasted them and they taste sweet bit of horrible artificial sweeteners yuck. Wouldnt have bought them if had realised, I hate the taste of artificial sweeteners plus they arent good for health.
