Tested this with my 9 year old son. Shared the tin between us with toast - with me knowing it was low sugar and him having no idea! To me there was a slight taste difference from normal Heinz beans -difficult to describe. Sweeter maybe if that doesn't sound strange? But perfectly edible. And clearly healthier. My 9 year old couldn't taste any difference when I told him half way through what he was actually eating!

My son and I enjoyed these beans on toast for lunch. It was the perfect amount for the two of us. As he is still under 2 I do try to limit his sugar in take somewhat so I was pleased to try these No Added Sugar Beans. We both enjoyed our lunch, and will look to replace this product with the usual beans I purchase. I didn't notice any difference between these and the regular Heinz beans in terms of taste or texture.

On the first few bites I didn’t mind these sugar free beans. I added tomato for sweetness and avo for creaminess. After several bites, I realised I wasn’t enjoying these beans, and they had a strange taste. It seems baked beans really needs sugar, or perhaps a different type of fake sugar like monk fruit instead of stevia. I wouldn’t repurchase this.

I found this product was readily available and my local grocer had many in stock. I used the baked beans heated up on toast for myself and my two year old daughter breakfast. Never having baked beans before my daughter was confused by these little oval shaped beans on her toast. We began eating and much to my surprise, she liked them and ended up using her fingers to pick off the smooth and tasty beans from her toast I have always prefer tinned spaghetti but me myself didn't mind these beans on my toast for a change. Didn't find them to dry and quite enjoyed the mild taste of the baked beans. Any cut in sugar is brilliant in my eyes.

Love beans on toast for a quick and easy meal that is filling. Must admit to being dubious about this product as my previous experience of reduced sugar items is not held in high regard, as often reduced sugar (and salt) products are a little flat flavour wise, but not these. I needn’t have worried as these baked beans are full of the usual great flavour, and I did not notice the difference. A healthier alternative to an already great product.

Great ketchup. We love the taste. sweet and salty. packaging is good. consistency is just fine. Great value for money. made with high-quality ingredients. it’s heinz. What can you say? Reduced in sugar. Healthier option.

You cannot beat the flavour of heinz beans these are with sausages and they are great with an easy meal for the kids just add some potato with it or my husband just loves them heated up on a piece of toast. The sausages are soft and easy to digest. For me, the lid has a ring attached, so it's great to open. These also have less sugar in them. One of the things I always keep in my pantry and good value as you know that they will always be eaten with no waste

Fantastic alternative to my usual beans

I received this product for free from Influenster and Heinz in exchange for my honest review. It?s great that finally Heinz have bought out a no sugar,no artificial sweetener product to enjoy with breakfast although I did find them slightly lacking in flavour. Good proportion of sauce to beans. High in protein and low in calories. Easy to heat up,either using traditional saucepan or a few mins in the microwave. I would purchase these again as nice to have the option to have a sugar free healthy wholesome brekki to start the day

Heinz Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce - No Added Sugar provides a healthier option without sacrificing flavor. The delightful combination of rich tomato flavor and tender beans makes for a satisfying meal or side dish. The absence of added sugar is a notable benefit, catering to those mindful of their sugar intake and offering a guilt-free choice. Packaged conveniently in a can, these beans guarantee freshness and have become a reliable staple for quick, nutritious meals. A delightful and health-conscious addition to any pantry!

Heavily rusted can interior
15 July 2024

Having eaten Heinz baked beans throughout my whole life and also fed them to my family, I encountered a batch which contained a can with a rusty interior and horrible tasting contents and another with an interior which was heavily covered in a dark residue which could be rubbed off with a tissue. It seems that the latter is apparently due to de-tinning and supposedly harmless. The rust on the can's interior, however indicates that the contents should not be consumed. I have alerted Ocado and Heinz but the rusty interior and contaminated contents issue has just been ignored by Heinz. Please do wash the tins out to check for any rust and heavy de-tinning before you cook and eat them. As you can guess, I won't be buying Heinz tinned products ever again.
