Absolutely love this light one. Still so creamy and tasty don’t notice the difference. The reward is less calories. Wonderful ingredients just love the taste and texture. I always reuse the jars too.

We swap back and forth between this mayo and the original mayo. The taste is definitely different, a bit more eggy. For those of you who don't know mayonnaise from scratch is pretty much just eggs, oil, a little bit of lemon juice, and some salt. I'm going to assume the eggy taste comes from using less oil to make it a light version. It's not bad at all! Just different. Much like the olive oil version. There's a big difference in taste when comparing olive oil to a neutral vegetable oil. Again not bad just different.

I don't think there's any better store bought mayonnaise than Hellman's and this light version is no different. Its yummy on sandwiches and with salads and doesn't over power your meal but does add a touch of indulgence. It makes 90% of sandwiches top tier. It now comes in this squeeze option that makes it easy to use, especially on picnics or somewhere with limited cutlery and where you don't want to take a glass jar.

My family really like Hellmann’s mayonnaise. We use it on our sandwiches on our sandwich wraps I put it in my macaroni and cheese just a little secret of mine. I use it in my meatloaf. I use it in my meatballs. I use it with this recipe for sausage dip I use it for my Vidalia onion cheese dip. Are use it for bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches. I use it for tomato sandwiches. It has a wonderful flavor. As a child, I would look at mayonnaise and think it was nasty. We ate our fair share of miracle whip growing up my older sister introduced Hellmann’s into our house, and it’s been a staple, and my favorite ever since .I don’t pick up another kind of mayonnaise when I go to the grocery store ever. I don’t think I ever will.

Now I absolutely love mayo, but the syns are a killer when you’re on a certain diet. So, I ALWAYS use this light mayo instead of the original. It tastes no different, and I can have a lot more!!!!! Yummmmm I prefer the squeeze bottle mind; there’s less mess!

Gripe over squeezy bottle

I have just finished using your Hellmann’s Light Mayonnaise in the new 100% recycled bottle. I have noticed from previous reviews that customers have been moaning about the squeezy bottle for 9 years!! Why is the new bottle just as bad as the original bottle?Even from the very first use I found it very difficult to extract the mayonnaise. The plastic is far too rigid and its inflexibility restricts the flow, and for anyone with problems with grip and dexterity it is torture to extract the mayonnaise. On occasions when I have had to store the bottle on its side in the fridge it then took forever to extract the mayonnaise. Once it became impossible to reach the remaining mayonnaise with a knife this left an unacceptable amount wasted at the end of use. Lacks flavor

I am a fan of Hellmann's. However, Hellmann's Light Mayonnaise lacks flavor, as in no flavor. It does have good consistency and may be ok for use with something that is just needs that type of product. I would not recommend this for use with foods as a condiment for items like sandwiches, cold salad mixes, etc. I would suggest anyone stick with the regular mayonnaise which does have great flavor and consistency. This was a huge disappointment from a trusted brand and wasted funds.

Love it.

I never use diet condiments. NEVER However, I love the flavor of this. It does not taste like it is missing all those calories. When I make potato salad, or tuna and shells salad I will add a dollop or two of full fat salad dressing to it so it will not get watery overnight. I know when you cut some of that fat it will get watery, so I'm all ready for that, but I don't care, I just love the taste. I also add horseradish to it and keep it in a jar for roast beef and roasted sausage (polish or Italian) sandwiches. I also keep a jar of coleslaw dressing at the ready. I use it for everything. Thank you for making this consistently delicious mayo.

Tastes different, bad, rancid

Lools like they changed something in their recipe recently.It just tastes like rancid oil. Stale. Bad aftertaste.Used to be a good quality product, but couple of latest purchases makes me change my mayo brand.

Too sweet tasting

Due to dietary restrictions, I needed to try a lighter mayo. I picked up the Hellmann's Light since I've always preferred regular Hellmann's to other brands. ANYONE who tries to tell you it tastes "just like regular" is lying. While the calories and fat are lighter, the taste is much sweeter. I honestly thought that I'd been given another brand of non-mayo spread (a "miracle" kind, that is). This is the first time that I've been disappointed in a Hellmann's product and am sorry to say that I will have to check out other brands because I just cannot get past the sweetness, no matter what I've tried.
