I went skiing last weak and it was very warm bit I think it needs a little more warmth in the arms. Super water proof, and stains come out great if you wash it like it says to on the tag. This jacket is beautiful with the navy blue and white zipper detailing. The logo is very prominent and eye catching. The fabric is amazing. It is completely water and wind proof and is a perfect jacket for the outdoors. Only complaint is that the sizing is very small and there is no stretch. I've owned many Helly Hansen items and had to go up two sizes for this item to for properly.

I was so excited to purchase this jacket for my wife in Cayenne, which is a color she absolutely oles, so I bought it really early. Even though she ordinarily wears a medium, I bought a large thinking that a midlayer usually is more snug. However, this is way too tight around the bodice, so now, we are trying to replace it with an XL but the color is sold out. For someone who wears a legit medium to have to move up to XL is, well, problematic.

I purchased this jacket to use as a mid-layer jacket and found that it can be the only jacket I use sometimes. It is lightweight, windproof and warm. It allows me freedom to move and work the boat as I need to without getting in the way or bunching up. I can easily put it under my foul weather jacket without it being bulky. Then when it gets warm I simply remove the outer jacket and now my mid layer becomes the outer jacket. It is perfect. I used to use a fleece as a mid-layer but could not use that as an outer layer. That is not the jacket's fault but a note to help you stay dry. I will tuck it inside my bibs next time I when it starts getting rough and may get some waves. I also got the white jacket which looks great! I feel great wearing it and get tons of complements! I just do not know how to keep it clean. I am on working sail boats and find it got dirty pretty fast and have tried to sponge it off and get the dirt out but that hasn't worked so well. Overall I love this jacket, love the fleece lining, love the wind proof and water resistant layer it is. Can be an outer layer or mid layer as you need. A male friend of mine saw my jacket and got one of his own and loves his too. Great Jacket!
I was really happy when I received my coat. It's so difficult to find plus size sportswear. Great quality product, the fitting is quite flattering and I received tons of compliments on my new coat! However, they are made really small. I bought a bigger size to make sure it fits, and I'm glad I did. I usually wear 2X, and I bought the largest size, 4X, which is a perfect fit. So make sure to check the measurements before buying. I wish they would offer more colours though, all larger size coats are only available in black. I'm glad this one was also offered in white! Would definitely recommend.
August 9th, 2015Outer Island race in Chester Nova Scotia, approximately a 5 hour race, raining with a constant down pour , mostly light winds with a temperature of plus 16-17., speed 7+- knots. Crewing on a 36ft C&C named Bazinga out of the Nova Scotia Royal Yacht Club.I wore the midlayer with only a t-shirt underneath for five hours under constant rainfall with only a few quick breaks down below. I noticed most crew were changing often with wet shirts underneath other well known brand jackets, I checked to see if I was wet underneath several times and to the very end of the race the rain did not penetrate this jacket , nor did water run down my neck and most of all I did not feel the wind or have chills. I highly recommend this jacket . i bought this for my wife , who is impossible to buy for . she absolutely loves this jacket . the fit is spot on and the feel is top quality . very well made . i got her the navy which is a dark navy almost black . this is a perfect jacket for women who don't like big bulky jackets . it's wind and rain proof and nicely fitted .... can't wait to purchase one for me to go over my patagonia vest ... it's all you need for the shore and winter .

I contacted HH prior to ordering to determine best guess at a fit. I ordered three of these jackets to try them out (this is my first HH product), but sadly none worked. I found the jacket fit small and had to size up several sizes. The 3X was very snug I could do it up but no hope of fitting anything beneath it. I have worn this jacket in a few different weather situations, cool evenings and windy and rainy days. For how light the jacket is, it is very warm. It is wind and water proof and I when found myself hunkered down on a coach boat in a downpour, I stayed completely dry, with the exception of water coming through the wrists whenever I held my hands or arms up. The jacket is very fitted and may run a little small. When I had my foul weather bibs on under it it was a bit snug. Overall, I really enjoy this jacket and will be wearing it on the water all season!
